Sk0pe
I always find it incredible how factory and aftermarket installed splits have the tweeters near the a-pillars. From a sound engineering point of view, this is far from optimum. Simple physics tells you you should have the tweeters as close to the matched midrange speakers as possible. That is why I installed mine in the doors... Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/47124-stagea-stereo-removal/page/4/#findComment-1402902 Share on other sites

AlexCim
Its quite simple, but i have no issues pulling stuff apart. 1. Remove ashtray 2. Remove surround around gear stick 3. Stick two screw drive between the dash and the top of the vents, pop them out. There are 4 clips holding it in, dont worry. 4. Pop of stereo surround 5. Undo the screws at the bottom and at the top *from memory now* 6. pull out the whole unit, all three things are stuck together 7. undo the screws on the side 8. you will need to pull pretty damn hard to get the thing out, so best to flex the metal case in some way 9. it comes out. 10. do what you want. Reverse for install. **there may be some things i forgot, but if it looks like it should come out, it probably should come out.** Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/47124-stagea-stereo-removal/page/4/#findComment-1543796 Share on other sites

You can then poke your finger around the back of the vent and push it out easier without screwdriver marks. cheers Edited August 25, 2005 by Sydneykid Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/47124-stagea-stereo-removal/page/4/#findComment-1543942 Share on other sites
