Hi all!

Im pretty new to the page. Buy i have come into a bit of a dilemma with my 02 m35 stagea and I'm hoping you guys can point me in the right direction.. sorry for the big parrlagraph lol

Now the other day i started experiencing when i put my fooy down not necessarily full through but if i boost to full bar its fine but after that its almost in a limp mode and doesn't wsnt to go full boost it loses power. The car sounds fine the spool sounds somewhat normal (just not going past full bar, almost like it limits itself)

Im trying to explain it the best i can to give you guys the clearest picture.

When I shut the car off abd turb it on again its fine untill i hit close full or hit full boost at times its struggles to get there almost like a fuel cut/surge or like its missing. I don't get jolted into the winscreen or anythingbut its just there enough to notice it. Full lack of power almost like your  foot is 75% down on the peddle boost should be at about the same and climbing engine and exhaust sounds as it should but boost spool sort if stops mid way and power the same. Any ideas guys?

I had my AFM sebsor done  about 2 months ago so surly can't be that and I wouldn't expect it to be that with these symptoms.

Car has an upgraded intercooler BOV and a car delete. Other then that its stock..

I have read somewhere that again it could be a number if things.. AFM, turbo seal or gasket leak, could be the turbo solinoid reading wrong, could be crank angle sensor or plain and simply cooler pipes or other boost lines being frail or have a split somewhere.

If anyone has any ideas please let me know as most places where i live are typical mechanics and charge an arm n a leg to do checks and to get parts and theybarr hard ti trust..

Feel free to ask me an questions or if i can be any more specific to help resolve this would be really appreciated..

    • Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
    • Should replace OR drop the tank, give it's good clean. Might be worth replacing that entire fuel level/pump/cradle thing with this: https://frenchysperformancegarage.com/products/fpg-s13-180sx-r32gtst-single-pump-hanger-kit-billet-hat-6-v3-fpg-089?gQT=2
    • Thank you so much for the help
    • Yes it is ATF. I quote @Duncan "it takes a good synthentic auto trans fluid like Castrol Transmax Z" It's not a diff. It's a transfer case. Totally different thing. Yes, fluid will come out the sender hole. No you do not really need to drain it. Just pull the old, quickly poke the new, clean up and top up. But realistically, you should probably take the opportunity to change it anyway.
    • Hey all. I’m looking on replacing my speed sensor on my R33 GTR. Will the center differential need to be drained, and if so, the center diff uses ATF fluid D? I found information on the transmission, front diff and rear diff. Can’t find a for sure answer for the center diff. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
