I Dont know why i bother reading this shit. Its full of boy racers thinking there the best fricken drivers in the world. All they ever do is winghe about being defected and speeding fines, yet they publicly drift, speed, do burnouts at Intersections and thru red lights which caused a 4 car crash at a recent cruise. Then they wonder why we, import car drivers get branded as irresponsible.

Some peoples attitudes are just wrong. Im sick of these type of people ruining it for the people that try to do the right thing. I know ive done some silly things, but nothing like what i read at NS.com.

Then they say things like "ive never been defected" and i drive hard all the time.

Theres so much more im pissed off about. I hope this doesnt start into a flame war, but do people still have any decency at all?

I understand why cops hit us so hard sometimes. If they thought we wer all irrasponsible like them, we'd deserve to be pulled over.

END RANT>

Well all i can say is "WERD"

Nail on the head......

This is gonna sound stupid too but SAU is so much more laid back and more mature than NS.com

I know i have posted some stupid crap on NS but it does get to a point where its just overload of BS!

There ARE actually some poeple on there that try and keep a low profile but your right, if the cops were to read that Forums, imports would basically be out lawed!

That is why i never go on a cruise with them and if i do its in someone else's car......

Go the SAU cruise's hahahahaha

Only ever been on one and it was the best cruise full stop!

Whens the next?

I've met and know a few of the VIC NSers, and they're very down to earth people. Yogi33's one of em, in fact he's a mod on there and he drives a line. I think its more the state people come from. From a moderator's point of view QLD SAU-ers, as fun as they are, are the most troublesome of the lot, and the juveniles of VIC are the wierdest. Each forum has their black sheep. I think its up to you the mature minded user to identify those that have nothing to contribute and associate yourself with those that are an invaluable source of information and leave it at that.

yer but not when they publicy admit stories of drifting, and racing in the streets. Its a case of the few spoil it for the masses.

Why dont the mods pull their finger out and ban all the rubbish racer crap off their forum??? Or are they the Juvenile boy racer wanna be's who got mummy or daddy, or even worked their arse off at maccas to buy a 180sx.

Reason they dribble shit - (not all, just the few boy racers) is because they are still young and dumb, and couldnt stretch it past $13,000 to buy themselves a real car like a skyline :)

Sorry Steve ;)

damn straight. Some of those guys run away from the cops and then turn around and ask why they are defecting them - because that hate you derr. Just makes it worst for the best of us as imports to them = recklessness and involved in illegal activities.

I disagree with you here. Its there attitutes, silvias = drift mobiles. Not because there cant afford > 13k cars as some have spent alot on there imports which is more than some of us on ur skylines.

i should re phrase it a little. Most of the ones who dribble are on P plates, and regardless of what they choose to spend on their car the skyline is a better car to start with. Not that im trying to start a "skyline vs silvia" thing. I agree its their attitudes as well.

4's are boat anchors, 8's are for towing, 6's are for performance :)

Wondering why the japs have never taken on any of the skylines into any form of motorsport. Apart from the GTR of course.

Most cars used are S13-S15 Silvia's and GTR's.

Get off your high horse.

For starters your 12+ year old R32 is worth about the same as any decent SR20 silvia around. The SR20 has more torque than your gutless RB20.

Not all the members at NS are young P platers and there is a lot of professional drivers who post on their.

The only reason you don't see the threads on SAU is because this forum is heavily moderated not because skyline drivers are more mature...... What a load of shit.

It's because of your attitude and everyone elses in this thread that played a big part in me getting rid of my skyline.

EnricoPalazzo: If you don't know why you bother reading the "boy racer" stories at NS then WHY DO YOU? No, instead you post a stupid arse thread on SAU about your theory of ruining import drivers image....... PLEASE.

Here we go....

1/ I agree the rb20 is a gutless pos. Hence the new motor in my sig. Why even start an argument.

2/ I said "MOST OF THE ONES WHO DRIBBLE ARE ON P PLATES" - shows you were reading clearly with the response from my comment.

3/ Part of the argument, is that they dont moderate the forum properly to remove the material which affect ALL IMPORT DRIVERS - not just sau members....

4/ Shows you care more about how others think of you and your life, if thats the only reason you got rid of your skyline....

5/ I agree totally with Enrico and his opinion....your entitled to yours as well, just dont sling SHIT when returning the favour.

Now go back to your s15 and pull your head out your arse. Im not responding to any other posts you make, due to your wasting everyones time with comments that arnt clearly thought out....

I'll just respond to number 4 on your list and I don't care if you won't respond. Just shows how gutless you are.

The reason I got rid of my skyline was because of wanna-be boy racers thinking they are "the shit" when they get behind the wheel. From your posts in this thread you fit that profile which is why I replied.

And don't worry about me pulling my head out from my arse. I think you should be the one worried about that.

    • The average previous owner for these cars were basically S-chassis owners in the US. Teenagers or teenager-adjacent. I often tell people that neglect is easier to fix than something that was actively "repaired" by previous owners.
    • Update 3: Hi all It's been a while. Quite a lot of things happened in the meantime, among other things the car is (almost) back together and ready to be started again. Things that I fixed or changed: Full turbo removal, fitting back the OEM turbo oil hardlines. Had to do quite a bit of research and parts shopping to get every last piece that I need and make it work with the GT2860 turbos, but it does work and is not hard to do. Proves that the previous owner(s) just did not want to. While I was there I set the preload for the wastegates to 0,9bar to hopefully make it easier for the tuner to hit the 370hp I need for the legal inspections that will follow later on. Boost can always go up if necessary. Fitted a AN10 line from the catch can to the intake hose to make the catchcan and hopefully the cam covers a slight vacuum to have less restrictive oil returns from the head and not have mud build up as harshly in the lines and catch can. Removed the entire front interior just shy of the dashboard itself to clean up some of the absolutely horrendous wiring, (hopefully) fix the bumpy tacho and put in LED bulbs while I was there. Also put in bulbs where there was none before, like the airbag one. I also used that chance to remove the LED rpm gauge on the steering column, which was also wired in absolute horror show fashion. Moved the 4in1 Prosport gauge from sitting in front of the OEM oil pressure gauge to the center console vents, I used a 3D printed vent piece to hold that gauge there. The HKB steering wheel boss was likely on incorrectly as I sometimes noticed the indicator reset being uneven for left vs. right. In the meantime also installed an airbag delete resistor, as one should. Installed Cube Speed premium short shifter. Feels pretty nice, hope it'll work great too when I actually get to drive. Also put on a fancy Dragon Ball shift knob, cause why not. My buddy was kind enough to weld the rust hole in the back, it was basically rusted through in the lowermost corner of the passenger side trunk area where the wheel arch, trunk panel and rear quarter all meet. Obviously there is still a lot of crustiness in various areas but as long as it's not rusted out I'll just treat and isolate the corrosion and pretend it's not there. Also had to put down a new ground wire for the rear subframe as the original one was BARELY there. Probably a bit controversial depending on who you ask about this... but I ended up just covering the crack in the side of the engine block, the one above the oil feed, with JB Weld. I used a generous amount and roughed up the whole area with a Dremel before, so I hope this will hold the coolant where it should be for the foreseeable future. Did a cam cover gasket job as the half moons were a bit leaky, and there too one could see the people who worked on this car before me were absolute tools. The same half moons were probably used like 3 times without even cleaning the old RTV off. Dremeled out the inside of the flange where the turbine housing mates onto the exhaust manifolds so the diameter matches, as the OEM exhaust manifolds are even narrower than the turbine housings as we all know. Even if this doesn't do much, I had them out anyways, so can't harm. Ideally one would port-match both the turbo and the manifold to the gasket size but I really didn't feel up to disassembling the turbine housings. Wrapped turbo outlet dumps in heat wrap band. Will do the frontpipe again as well as now the oil leak which promted me to tear apart half the engine in the first place is hopefully fixed. Fitted an ATI super damper to get rid of the worn old harmonic balancer. Surely one of the easiest and most worth to do mods. But torquing that ARP bolt to spec was a bitch without being able to lock the flywheel. Did some minor adjustments in the ECU tables to change some things I didn't like, like the launch control that was ALWAYS active. Treated rusty spots and surface corrosion on places I could get to and on many spots under the car, not pretty or ideal but good enough for now. Removed the N1 rear spats and the carbon surrounding for the tailpipe to put them back on with new adhesive as the old one was lifting in many spots, not pretty. Took out the passenger rear lamp housing... what do you know. Amateur work screwed me again here as they were glued in hard and removing it took a lot of force, so I broke one of the housing bolts off. And when removing the adhesive from the chassis the paint came right off too. Thankfully all the damaged area won't be visible later, but whoever did the very limited bodywork on this car needs to have their limbs chopped off piece by piece.   Quite a list if I do say so myself, but a lot of time was spent just discovering new shit that is wrong with the car and finding a solution or parts to fix it. My last problem that I now have the headache of dealing with is that the exhaust studs on the turbo outlets are M10x1.25 threaded, but the previous owner already put on regular M10 nuts so the threads are... weird. I only found this out the hard way. So now I will just try if I can in any way fit the front pipe regardless, if not I'll have to redo the studs with the turbos installed. Lesson learned for the future: Redo ALL studs you put your hands on, especially if they are old and the previous owners were inept maniacs. Thanks for reading if you did, will update when the engine runs again. Hope nothing breaks or leaks and I can do a test drive.
