:D

Dont really want to but i think it will be for the best.

Few financial blunders recently have really put me in it at the moment...

Its going to take me at least 3 months to get this car on the road because of them and i dont think i can really have it sitting there for that long costing me money.

Im trying to decide what i should do... sell it whole or sell it in peices. Its got so many aftermarket parts on it that i could probably make more than what i paid for it to this point but it would probably be easier to sell it as a whole for what ive paid for it right now.

Might pull the 18s off it and put them on th soarer and put the soarer wheels on the ceffy and sell it like that

This is basically what needs to be done to get it on the road.

-Adjust the suspension to a legal height (has coilovers which are currently wound as low as they go)

-Repair the front bar (its a genuine monkey magic one so no point in wasting it )

-Repair the rear bar (same as above)

-Put a catback on it

-Side intrution bars

-Remove the rollcage

-Add rear child restraints

-Smaller wheels (enter the soarer wheels )

-Unleaded filler nozzle thing

And thats about all i can think of.

Would make a nice track car... then you wouldnt have to worry about doing anything to it to road register it but who would honestly buy it for that?

Meh... i need to think about whats to be.

I know once its sorted out i will be on the look out for another car.. more than likely a 4DR R32 or another ceffy.

U sell it i will bitch slap ur arse :Bang:

Keep it man, its a unique Ceffiro thats got all the goodies (never seen a sexier Ceffy) :D dont sell it before u get the chance to feel what it can do. + u still gotta give me a ride :( Voted for you to keep it of course :)

perhaps sell it as a whole if u really have to, preferably to someone looking for a drift car as all those things on the car seems to be drift-ready already. as drift events are picking up here with events like drift nats, u should b able to find buyers for the car.

otherwise selling it in pieces if you can obtain all stock items and sell the car on its own as close to std. otherwise if too much effort and take too long for you, do the above.

chris - if thats the way things pan out then yes :D

James - this is true... but it would mke things a LOT easier for me right now.. i can still manage to get it on the rd... but like i said it would take a while.

Kool then :D

Keep it man. I saw uur thread on another forum showin it off :(

i could just sit there and stare at it cuz its soo nice and shiny :)

If you sell it for how much u picked it up for then it would be the best value Ceffy :)

i'll borrow it then and take it to QLD.. you'll get it back one day.. :D maybe not in one piece but hey.. :(

Depends - do u want to really drive it like its meant to be driven ? (on a track, etc).. or drive it everyday?? Don't think its really an everyday driver from everything i have seen. I think once its registered you'd maybe drive it for only a couple of months b4 realising the realities of it.

get another r32 and swap the engines.. you know u wanna..

lmao the only reason i want it road registered is so i dont have to tow it to the events i want to partake in... if i had a truck and a trailor i wouldnt even bother registering it :)

Ive driven it a little while its been here and it isnt an everyday driver... but i work within biking distance from my house (well walking distance but im a lazy ****er) so i dont need a car for everyday... its still very easily driven on the street tho dont get me wrong.

why would you do that???You think your in a bad situation????take a look at my thing 8mnths ago.....I mean all the things you have to do to the car i am sure you already knew before you got your hands on it

:D yeah i know troy... the compliance costing isnt the issue... i knew what needed to be done but its going to take me longer than expected and i really want to get out and start practising dori and circuit work and if its going to take that long (maybe more than 3 months) then it might be easier for me to just sell it now and sort out these other issues and then maybe get somethign cheaper and slowly work it up.

i dunno... im just weighing up my options

Might want to keep in mind there might not be any more 15y.o. imports after the end of the year, so surely a car like that would then be even more expensive? Just garage it, at least you know you're going to have something you like this christmas! :D

    • Was going to say the car pulls up nicely everywhere, especially going into that last long right hander before the main straight. Looks like a lot of fun.
    • Hey Dave, welcome aboard! Good to see another soon-to-be Stagea owner here. The wagons are awesome — plenty of space, still got that Skyline DNA, and loads of potential if you’re into mods. Definitely post up pics when you get it, everyone here loves seeing new builds. What model/year are you looking at?
    • See if you can thermal epoxy a heatsink or two onto it?
    • The other problem was one of those "oh shit we are going to die moments". Basically the high spec Q50s have a full electric steering rack, and the povo ones had a regular hydraulic rack with an electric pump.  So couple of laps into session 5 as I came into turn 2 (big run off now, happily), the dash turned into a christmas tree and the steering became super heavy and I went well off. I assumed it was a tyre failure so limped to the pits, but everything was OK. But....the master warning light was still on so I checked the DTCs and saw – C13E6 “Heat Protection”. Yes, that bloody steering rack computer sitting where the oil cooler should be has its own sensors and error logic, and decided I was using the steering wheel too much. I really appreciated the helpful information in the manual (my bold) POSSIBLE CAUSE • Continuing the overloading steering (Sports driving in the circuit etc,) “DATA MONITOR” >> “C/M TEMPERATURE”. The rise of steering force motor internal temperature caused the protection function to operate. This is not a system malfunction. INSPECTION END So, basically the electric motor in the steering rack got to 150c, and it decided to shut down without warning for my safety. Didn't feel safe. Short term I'll see if I can duct some air to that motor (the engine bay is sealed pretty tight). Long term, depending on how often this happens, I'll look into swapping the povo spec electric/hydraulic rack in. While the rack should be fine the power supply to the pump will be a pain and might be best to deal with it when I add a PDM.
    • And finally, 2 problems I really need to sort.  Firstly as Matt said the auto trans is not happy as it gets hot - I couldn't log the temps but the gauge showed 90o. On the first day I took it out back in Feb, because the coolant was getting hot I never got to any auto trans issues; but on this day by late session 3 and then really clearly in 4 and 5 as it got hotter it just would not shift up. You can hear the issue really clearly at 12:55 and 16:20 on the vid. So the good news is, literally this week Ecutek finally released tuning for the jatco 7 speed. I'll have a chat to Racebox and see what they can do electrically to keep it cooler and to get the gears, if anything. That will likely take some R&D and can only really happen on track as it never gets even warm with road use. I've also picked up some eye wateringly expensive Redline D6 ATF to try, it had the highest viscosity I could find at 100o so we will see if that helps (just waiting for some oil pan gaskets so I can change it properly). If neither of those work I need to remove the coolant/trans interwarmer and the radiator cooler and go to an external cooler....somewhere.....(goodbye washer reservoir?), and if that fails give up on this mad idea and wait for Nissan to release the manual 400R
