I'm going to cry if mine doesn't make it on to the ship that is arriving in december, I will speak to the shop today and find out how thye work over the december period and stuff

WHY IS NOTHING EVER EASY! god damn new cars, aren't the lots full! I drive past and think they can't have sold anything as there isn't anymore space to put cars on the lots

mark

(sorry, getting quite upset now as I wanted to drive it by xmas, it was my present to myself this year)

Guys

I imported a Soarer around Christmas 2 years ago and had heaps of probs including the Front whee falling off. The tyre joint stuffed up the front wheel nuts and it came off whilst on the way to the exhaust shop.

They ended up paying for all the repairs :D but it took 7 weeks to see the car on the road.

I m now in the process of importing a R32 GTST Type M and its missed the boat. :boohoo:

Oh well its to be expected. You would have thought I would have learnt the first time.

Cheers

I have spoken to my compliancer and they said they don't close down over xmas, so if the car gets here he said it will be in and out in a week including fitting the few mods I have

so thats some good news, hope fully its in on the next boat

They would be silly to close at that time with the amount of 15 year cars coming in at the moment. They'd only be doing themselves out of heavy business.

There would be thousands sitting over there in Japan, and that have recently landed.

Hello To you all, heres my update.. some 6 pages ago and back on 1/8 i was trying to find out times on import approval everyone saying 4-6 weeks.. well Guess what today was my lucky day! Finally.. ive been allowed to import a August 89 Gtr32 in November! There getting quick these days! Well that aint so sacastic for you all.. 14 days and longest like a month! :) oh i cant whinge about that.. i can only whinge about not driving it now.. and paying the holding fees at the docks!! Enough from me.. but i guess if someone asks me if it was worth importing affter my first drive which should be next week i guess ill say hell yeah but now, i should of just brought one here!

Hey guys, i sent my import approval off about 2 weeks before the correct month and i got it back in record time. The thing to consider is that the time it takes to receive back your approval is mostly taken up by the application waiting to be processed. It only takes then a few minutes to process it. So i received my approval back in excellent time and was very happy. Since then, earlier this week i heard that my car was landing today in brisbane (KIWI carrier). I wasent even aware it had gotton on board a ship! So that was very exciting. The car will be trucked down to me in Melbourne to my door after it passes thru customs and quarantine. So it should be in my hands in about 2 weeks max! Very excited. I've never even driven a GTR lol. I have had a fair bit of experience driving high powered turbo cars but never a GTR. Im sure it wont let me down :D

what agent did you use GODZILLA32??

I wasent going to use a Customs agent as my friend has imported alot of cars himself, but in the end when the lady called i think from KIWI car carriers i decided to just let them handle it all and be done with it. You can call the people im using on 03 9614 8100. Ask for Nicki Groves.

Well, I put mine through on the 25th last month, and got it today - that's a 20 day turnaround which is exactly how long they said it would take.

I would be happy - however i have sweet F.A chance of getting it on a ship any time soon!

    • Forgot to include this but this is the mid section of my steering rack that looks like it has a thread/can be turned with that notch mentioned in the post:
    • Hey everyone, Wanted to pick some brains about this issue I'm having with rebuilding my 33 rack (PN is 49001-19U05). All of the tutorials/videos I've seen online are either R34 or S Chassis racks which seem to be pretty straightforward to disassemble but this process doesnt carry over to my rack. Few of the key differences that I've noted The pinion shaft on the other racks bolt on with 3 torx bolts: Whereas my rack bolts on with 2 allen head bolts: These changes are pretty inconsequential but the main difference is how you pull the actual rack out of the housing. The other skyline/s chassis racks can be taken out by tapping the rack out of the body with a socket and it just slides right out. I'm unable to do that with my rack because there's a hard stop at the end that doesn't let the seal/shaft be tapped out. Can also see a difference in the other end of the rack where mine has a notch that looks like you're able to use a big wrench to unthread 2 halves of the rack whereas the other racks are just kinda set in with a punch. My rack: Other racks: TLDR; Wanted to know if anyone has rebuilt this specific model of steering rack for the R33 and if there were any steps to getting it done easier or if I should just give this to a professional to get done. Sorry if this post is a bit messy, first one I've done.
    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
    • Can I suggest you try EBC directly again and link them to as many competitor catalogues as you can to show their listing is incorrect, eg https://dba.com.au/product/front-4000-series-hd-brake-rotor-dba42304/ If you have access to an R33 GTST VIN and your VIN, you could also use a Nissan Parts lookup like Amayama to show them the part number is different between 33 GTST and 34 GTT which may get their attention
    • So i got reply from EBC and they just this site where you can clearly see those 296mm fronts on R34 GTT. I send them photos and "quotes" that 296mm are not for 34 GTT and they are too small. But it will be very hard to return them cuz nobody here knows 100% and they just copy those EBC catalogue :-D https://ebcbrakesdirect.com/automotive/nissan/skyline-r34
