I think these are a GREAT idea:

http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...891&postcount=1

Those people over in WA really got it down pat, and as a club I really think having one of these would be beneficial as then everyone knows where they stand and what they are responcable for on any SAUQLD organised cruise.

Opinions? Suggestions? Money? Gold? Precious Jewels? I take them all :P

Of course not. Our club SAUWA developed these guidelines to provide some level of protection from being held accountable for the way people drive on cruises. Your more than welcome to use or adapt them to your own needs. We have other club stuff if you ever need it too:D

A few extras I "thought" of (read stole from somewhere else): :rofl:

- Please be aware of the surface you are stopped on. When exiting a meet point, note that there is probably another car behind you, and gravel does not do nice things to the fronts of cars.

- Check your equipment before you go. ie, tires, pressures, alignment, brakes, etc.

- Don't break any laws on the way to the cruise meet point. We don't want the constabulary breaking the cruise up before it starts...

- Watch out for wildlife!!! Especially true here in QLD...

- Stay alert, don't have things around that will distract you during the cruise.

- Look as far ahead of you as possible.

- No crossing into the oncoming lane! EVER!

- Do not take your ego to the cruise.

Some things you might want to bring along with you:

* Tools

* Jack

* Flashlight

* Rope

* Zipties

* Duct Tape

* Cell Phone

* UHF hand held or in car radio

I'll put these up on the web page when I get the motivation :cheers: I was actually in the process of drafting up some basic rules myself, but I'll use these instead as they cover mine plus a few extras I hadn't thought of.

Thanks to the WA guys for allowing us to use theirs, and to Adrian and the Rice Man for providing the lists :D

Yep have tried DOS/command line FTP, IE6 both with the un/pw in the address and specifying them in the dialog, tried CuteFTP, and tried the DreamweaverMX built-in put stuff and configurations too. There must just be something wrong with it at the ISP end, it suddenly stopped working about 3:30 this arvo (I was doing web development at the time) and have tried it on two different PCs (albeit on the same DSL (ugh) connection). I might just leave it until tomorrow and see if it works then cos I cbf doing anything with it tonight :P

Optus cable is the poo. Apart from 15 minutes of scheduled downtime about a year ago, I don't think I've ever had a problem with it that wasn't self-inflicted.

Not much good to me though when I'm using someone else's connection :P

Oh, on a more club-related note, cards have been printed and will be mailed out with stickers on Monday or Tuesday at the latest. Thanks for everyone's patience, and apologies for the delay :Oops:

Amen to that.

I love optus cable.

Back on topic for a moment (omg omg omg), the most important thing to bring to a cruise is common sense. Think, then act. And when I say think, I dont mean think about how cool is going to make you look.

Skids on gravel near cars != cool

Skids on clean bitumen away from cars == win

Tailgating on mountain runs != cool

Not having a UHF radio != cool

..etc

    • Plan on the day will be to park trackside. Depending on space availability we will try put a small shade tent and a few of the cars on top of the hill inside turn 3, this is an easy to get to parking area with views of Turn 2, Turn 3, Turn 4 and Turn 5 and limited other pieces of the view around the track. IMPORTANT NOTE! One consideration from previous years is from memory the trackside parking sells out before the admission tickets, for that reason I encourage anyone planning on coming to buy tickets for parking now via the official website; https://www.worldtimeattack.com/ The type of parking you are looking for is 2 Day Park & View (Access Around Venue) Vehicle Pass Only Please note this does not include admission to the event itself, remember to grab that also, and kids under 12 get in for free!
    • This is going to be a mid week evening cruise. Come along and join us for a drive out to Palm Beach. This is a change of event plans after talking to some of the older members of the club. SAU NSW is planning on hitting Old Pac again shortly, stay tuned for details. When: Thursday 26th of June Time: 7:30pm meet/8:00pm departure/10:00pm finish Meet: Spit West Car Park / Spit Rd Mosman NSW 2088 Destination: Palm Beach Public Parking / 16 Ocean Rd Palm Beach NSW 2108 Up to date information as always can be found on the events page of our website, the link for this event is https://www.saunsw.com.au/events/palm-beach-cruise There will be a lead and follow car so no one should get lost. If you would like to attend or bring others along please put your name down and a +1 as numbers will be needed prior! This is NOT a race and we will all be adhering to all road rules. If this is what you want please come to one of our track days. This is an official SAUNSW event and will be run under a Motorsport Australia permit. One of the things that really sets our club apart is our commitment to being true enthusiasts. When on normal roads we strive to maintain good relations with the authorities as well as the public in general. When attending one of Skylines Australia NSW events please try to: • Be aware of surrounding environment and act accordingly. • Drive courteously on the state’s roads as a true enthusiast should. • Understand how important it is to maintain the good name of SAU:NSW and thus, treat others accordingly. • Any misbehavior will not be tolerated and you will be asked to leave. Thanks guys and hope to see you there!
    • Good time for a carbon roof
    • Not in any way aroused by any of those, except maybe the big AMGs. And that would break my never a Euro, ever, rule.
