Hi all,

Just a few problems which are bugging me...i hope someone can help me out ;)

QUESTION 1:

I have a R33 Series 2 Gts-t with auto transmission.

I was fiddling around with the radio the other day trying to install a new Mp3 unit. After i was all done, the radio wouldnt turn on! The red dot that blinks when the engine is off still blinks but the unit itself wont work even after starting the engine. Furthermore, the clock also doesnt work! :)

Thinking i had blown a fuse, i opened the fusebox next to the steering column and there were three blown fuses.

I havent replaced these blown fuses yet but i was wondering how many more fuseboxes there are in my car... some threads mentioned a passenger footwell fusebox, an engine fusebox, and a rear boot fusebox as well...???

Do all of these boxes exist? Where?

QUESTION 2:

How the hell do i turn off that annoying reverse beeper?!!?!?

Is there a simple wire i can cut or do i have to remove the whole dash to rip the damn thing out?

QUESTION 3:

When my car is idling and when under mild/little throttle, the boost gauge is sitting on the negative areas? What does this mean? Is this normal? Im just confused because negative would mean are is being pushed OUT rather than INTO the engine...

Im a n00b so be nice :D

Cheers~!

Q1 - fuse boxes are located in the boot, under steering wheel and under the bonnet.

Q2 - yeah that noise pisses me off too....if anyone knows how to disable it let me know too!

Q3 - The boost guage is displaying 'negative' (vacuum pressure) on idle because there is no boost being created. This is normal.

been searching ever were.. thought id ask here..

ive just installed a hks front mount side flowing intercooler... something like 400 wide and so on.. car runs great.. alot beta.. but just wondering.

When you installed a larger cooler and more piping.. does this make my vacuum boost lower on my boost guage?.. ive noticed its like 1.5 to 3 psi lower than it was before... wish i wrote it down from stock.. but i never new... thanx for anyone that can clear this up.. replaced all boost lines and all while i was doing this.. maby a older line was causeing higher vacuum ? thanx oh one other thing.. ive noticed my boost go up be like 1 psi or 0.5psi... but im gussing a larger cooler would do that?.. thanx

    • Yes the gear for the R33/34 is different, it is red and has a different number of teeth. My part didn't come with that gear though, so I don't know how many teeth are on the red one. You'd have to reuse the 260RS/R33 gear, as long as it's not destroyed.   Haha, as unfortunate as that might be it was working fine for about the first 1500km I've had the car for now.
    • Update all   thanks to the workshop manual, it lead me back to checking fuses as mentioned central locking and door open lights worked when acc was switched on. diagram attached shows two points of power 1. ACC and 2.  Batt with the later being fused (#28) I did check the fuses using a multimeter but I must have stuffed that up also. Went back and checked the batt fuse in interior fuse box and you wouldn’t believe it… a blown fuse. replaced fuse and everything is now working as it should including the climate control   thank you all with your positive insight and knowledge.
    • Where is the warning "That this thread is super old"   I just went into a 5 year old thread, went to do a reply, and couldn't see anywhere obvious a warning of it being super old
    • Duncan is correct. Pitwork (and Toyota's own cheap brand "Drive Joy") were primarily created as brands to sell other manufacturers car parts. It would be weird if Nissan sold parts for Toyota vehicles with a Nissan logo on it, so they created Pitwork to sell parts for other brans Toyota, Honda etc. They are not the same as Nissan genuine parts, although they *do* meet Nissan's standards for replacement parts. They aren't supposed to be a substitute for genuine parts, but a cheaper alternative that is better than Ebay fake parts from you-know-where.
    • Thanks GTSBoy, much easier to work with it now it's free!
