I just filled in the form for an online quote for a gst-t and they replied by saying that cover for the gts-t is under review due to "lack of available parts" , and weren't allowed to give any quotes untila decision is made.

what a crock of shit

there's only one reason why its under review, and we all know lack of available parts is not the reason

they should at least come clean and say why they really don't want to insure them

damn media influce, irresponsible drivers, and theives -> least he's goin to jail:D

Give em a call or see them face to face, myself aswell as many others have RAC insurance. Thats one advantage of the net.... you can post stuff up like that and not have to worry about taking abuse from a potential client!!!

If still no then go to your local RAC and if they say the same kick up a bit of a stink....

At least this way you have tried and not just let it be.

I'm with RAC too and recently moved house, they said my new place has reduced my premium YAY! by a whopping $55 (from 2200/year to 2150/year) big hairy deal.

The problem is they sent me the papers confirming the new premium and it says "1992 NISSAN SYLINE GTR COUPE 6 CYLINDER, 2500cc" but I told 'em it was a '93 GTST.

Now I'm dreading calling 'em up to correct this incase they say "Oh, I'm sorry we don't insure GTSTs anymore". BASTARDS!

Do you think they'll refuse a claim (god forbid I need to make one) if the policy states an R32 GTR when I actually have an R33 GTST?

Calling them to get a positive result on the insurance probably wont help. I am insured with them, and when I rang with a general question about my policy they told me that when my policy comes up for renewal - they wont run with it anymore - too expensive they said. Time to start looking elsewhere

100 percent correct there dude! I think a lot of us Gtst owners were insured as 32 GTR's, so quite a few of us had to change with no hassles. better off changing coz they do ANYTHING to get out of paying you if something goes wrong!!

If you wanna see em pack there dacks do what i did!

Me "Hi I'm interested in insuring a GTR/Supra here is my client number......."

RAC "Oh yes Daniel i have your details here, is that supra you want to buy a turbo or non turbo?"

Me: "Supra will be twin turbo "

RAC: "We don't insure twin turbo's we have a strict policy BLAH BLAH BLAH"

Me: " THEN WHY HAVE YOU INSURED ME AS A GTR TWIN TURBO!"

RAC " Oh Ummm AAhhh Yes Sir, it seems there was an operator error when putting it in, I will correct it for you straight away sir"

Me "Hmmm strict policy?"

RAC "terribly sorry our apologies"

ehehe always good for a laugh!

    • Yes, I had ordered the spherical bushings at the same time as the rest. I have high hopes for the anti squat reduction kit.
    • Make sure you use the spherical bushes** on the lower arms, ifyou do that. ** at least, if not the whole replacement lower arm.
    • The tap for coolant flow control will be stuck open. It's not just the air door motor that dies.
    • Not really, but the heater box is pretty simple mechanically....if the door is one way the air bypasses the heater core and if it is the other way it goes through it for warm air.  If you are sure the actuator you moved manually is for the heater mix (there would also be one for output air direction) then I'd take the heater box out and see what is happening (you'll have to regass and re-coolant the systems afterwards) BTW pp724 onwards from the GTR workshop manual cover the system in good detail, it is probably worth checking. I think the IAT sensor might be a problem electrically for getting cold (if you got 24 error code not -24 it thinks the incoming air is -50c) and it covers how to test the sensor (although most likely it is either not plugged in or a wire is damaged)
    • Use the GKTech subframe bush and bring your subframe 10mm closer to the chassis. You'll need to fix an exhaust hanger to suit. One of the best mods I've done.
