Do you have the car beeping with the door open, and the keys in the ignition?

Mines makes a f**n annoying beep when the keys are in the barrel, and i open the door...im gunn rip it out soon :P

edit/ your factory central locking system is that loom above as well...its obviously been replaced and taped up inside....more labour to strip it out completely...just lazy people installing a/m alarm....

bl4ck32 - i'm pretty sure that beeping comes from a little box under the dash, which can be access by taking off the cover that goes from the fuse box to the centre console. its just mounted to the plastic with a white plug in it, disconnect that and u wont have that beeeping anymore (it worked for me).

Can you explain what you mean by your 'Edit' ?

My central locking box i found located in the bottom driverside foot well to the right. so im not sure what your saying?

F] This appears to be an LED inside a black case

Essential,

I have the same box in the drivers door of my R32. I think mine is just central looking, but i've never bothered to follow all the wires for it so it could be an alarm.

The only bits i've ever really taken notice of were the box in the door and the little black piece that you marked F. This looks like an infrared receiver for a remote. Unfortunately the remote didn't come with the car. In my car the piece marked F is clipped into the top of the door trim.

Next time i have the door trim off i'll see if theres anything else connected to it.

Maybe it was a factory option alarm or remote central locking system.

I'm fairly certain that this unit has nothing to do with controlling the factory central locking (when you use the key), all it does it activate the solenoid in the drivers door and then the module that controls the central locking (probably in the dash somewhere) thinks that the drivers door has been locked with the key and locks the passenger door.

I don't know if that mad any sense.

Cheers,

Tom.

it looks like they are shock sensors...some cars have those for when someone backs into/opens their door into your car the alarm will sound.....also that speaker thing could be the "blip blip" speaker for arming the alarm.

Tom G - Yup sounds exactly the same to me .. my led was taped to the top of the inside of the drivers side door trim.

im sure it is for an alarm as i noticed my car had a sticker on it saying something about an alarm but its in jap so i could not read the brand name

    • I am yet to see anyone ever regret a quaife or helical. ...other than drifting/skidpan duties. I kind of want to upgrade my factory helical with a Quaife (but really it's not ultimately that different, and is a MASSIVE UNDERTAKING), that's how good the hype is about them, that I want to try them 'just to see'
    • D2 and Ksport are essentially the same thing and basically just generic Taiwanese manufacture. Better than ChinaBay crap, but... not top shelf. Öhlins have got to be some of the best dampers around, so likely to be a good option. It's going to get to the point though where I suggest you buy from Oz. We have at least 2x excellent options here. If I were you though, I'd be talking to KW about doing something for the R33. There's bugger all difference between that and the 32. In GTR land, anyway.
    • KW only offers a set for the R32 GTR. Popular options are D2 racing, Ksport or Öhlins. I have a D2 Racing coilover set, though I don't know for sure which one.
    • Well, the good news is you have more than one very good option for new coilovers in and around your country. Worth the drive over to KW to talk about GTR stuff.
    • Fair enough, I am in no way a tire expert so I'm not familiar with all the terms and conditions. I'll definitely note down the AD09 to potentially try in the future. Rain is not too big of a concern for now as I will probably only drive in the rain when I have to. And considering I still lack experience driving the GTR I'd more than likely take it easy too. I have coilovers in the car but as I barely got to drive so far I never bothered to even check if they are adjustable haha. The suspension is almost entirely old and worn as well so I suppose when I eventually fix that in the future that would make a huge difference.
