Ok, Dont know if this is the rigth section however i NEVER get replys to my posts in the other sections, so considering this section has the most people, i'll post here.

According the the ECU Diagram on rb20det.com and looking at my ECU

it appears, the following pinouts have no wires.

*** Edited as I was reading my ECU wrong ***

5 engine. A/T control input signal (bt1)

6 Sub electrical fan relay (engine temp switch)

14 engine. a/t control input sigal (bt2)

15 engine. a/t control input sigal (bt3)

56 Throttle sensor output signal

Anyone able the shed some light on this and if the wires are ment to be missing,

also if it's a bad thing that these wires arn't in there.

Thanks

Ok, I went and wrote it all down again. First off let me explain..

Today i decided to check out what ECU I had as it was acting like a non stock ecu.

My Ecu Is: 23710-11U00 MEC R212 B 2615

I tried looking this information up on

http://www.grid.co.jp/DAT/unitdat.txt

However i did not manage to find my EXACT ECU, howeve rI managed to find similar ones.

Therefore I decided to 'Google it' and the only result returned was..

http://www.hks-power.co.jp/products/electr...on_sz_data.html

However I have no Idea what this website is trying to tell me.

Next i went and checked each wire on me ECU and noticed a few were missing, (a few were cut so I managed to re-join them, not sure what ones exactly though)

Anyway it appears after consulting the ECU guide on RB20DET.com it appears the following wires are missing from my ECU

5 engine. A/T control input signal (bt1)

6 Sub electrical fan relay (engine temp switch)

14 engine. a/t control input sigal (bt2)

15 engine. a/t control input sigal (bt3)

56 Throttle sensor output signal

can anyone explain to me if this is normal, and why it is missing etc.

Basically I want to know what each Pin-Out does and if i'm in danager of anything bad.

Thanks

PS - Hope I have read it the correct way up this time! :)

6 Sub electrical fan relay (engine temp switch)

My engine diagrams don't agree with this and 6 is listed as unused. The aux fan on my engine is controlled using a sensor plugged into the radiator and there doesn't appear to be any ecu control. Pin 6 for a gtr ecu is as you describe so maybe there is an error in the info you are reading this from?

5 engine. A/T control input signal (bt1)

14 engine. a/t control input sigal (bt2)

15 engine. a/t control input sigal (bt3)

56 Throttle sensor output signal

All these are for auto's.

I know. There are several differences between that file and what is indicated in my service manual.

I have yet to find a single difference between my literature and my wiring loom so my guess is that the file above has a couple of small errors. Since the GTR pinout has exactly that definition for pin 6 I think it might be a simple error of mixing up gtr and gtst info.

Otherwise Nissan might have released several slightly different looms/ecu's just to complicate things.

according to my JPNZ manual, the following pins are not used on the RB20DE(T):

6 8 17 25 33 34 35 36 37 39 40 55 102 106 111 113

The GT-R uses pin 6, as mentioned previously. It also uses 34 35 36 for the 2nd AFM

So comparing that to your chart it appears the the following ports whould have wires in them..

5 14 15 56

And going of MY chart these ports represent..

5 engine. A/T control input signal (bt1)

14 engine. a/t control input sigal (bt2)

15 engine. a/t control input sigal (bt3)

56 Throttle sensor output signal

And according to 'Browny' these 4 pin outs SHOULD be empty if your running a MANUAL rb20det

Therefore in the end my ECU isn't actually missing any wires at all and is completely normal?

Correct ? :D

Thanks for your help so far guys

5 engine. A/T control input signal (bt1)

6 Sub electrical fan relay (engine temp switch)

14 engine. a/t control input sigal (bt2)

15 engine. a/t control input sigal (bt3)

56 Throttle sensor output signal

A/T = Automatic transmission, so if you have a manual you shouldn't have wiring for #5, #6,,#14, or #15. If I remember rightly #56 is also for the A/T as it tells the auto ECU how much throttle you have on. I have seen #6 wired, but it was either on an auto or a GTS4.

Hope that helps :burnout:

Well Ill just assume everything is fine with my wires afetr all that, ill go have a look at those wires that were cut in a minutue and let you know which ones were cut.

Im still a bit locast about which ECU i have, ad my serial numbers dont match up anywhere as mentioned above

can someone shed some light on why this is?

Thanks

Ok I went and had a look at all the Modified wires on my Ecu..

The following wires were cut and i joined them back together.

25 58 59

Any Reason why these were cut?

Now the following wires i noticed had been tapped in to, what i mean by this is they have 2 wires that are taped into the one wire coming out of the ECU

101 7 53

I think therse wires lead over to my HKS Type 1 Turbo timer, however it does not read my revs/speed correctly

The following wire looked like it was clear with copper inside

29

Guessing thats normal?

Having just said that, I have managed to translate the following

7 Tacometeter speed signal

53 Vehicle speed sensor

- However the readout on my Turbo timer does not work/ display correctly

29 Exhaust gas sensor

- Would explain why that wire looked copper, so im guessing its normal

58 Battery power supply

59 Control unit power supply

- Not sure what the deal is with these, my turbo timer displays my 'Voltage' and it seems correct so maybe one or 2 of these wires lead to my Turbotimer?

101 Injector #1

- No idea why a wire is tapped into this??

Thanks for taking them time out to help me with this

Ok, I had a quick look again and it appears wires..

101 7 53

- all lead back to near my turbo timer, they then connect into a big bundle of wires which contains wires for my alarm i think. and possibly a relay.

Whats confused me is if all these wires go back to my turbotimer then why doesnt the Rev and speed feature display correctly on my turbo timer?

    • Haha, i kow right? Could have bought so many cars for the same amount of money (or less) but driving Unicorn gives you at least +1mln to style 😅. Like wise man said "life's to short to drink cheap wine and drive boring cars" 😉
    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
