Fitting 550cc Supra 2jz turbo injectors into a RB25det

I am looking into the "posibility" of fitting Toyota Supra IV twin turbo USA spec 550cc injectors into a RB25det.

Japanese spec are 480cc.

The injectors are low impedence, but RB25 use high impendence

Is there some way of re-wiring etc to get these to work?

Will they fit into the fuel rail with little to no mods?

I have a new Wolf plug-in ecu, which is not fitted yet, will this be able to run low impedence injectors instead of high impedence?

These injectors can be found for about $150 aust., hense the consideration in finding out if these will work

Has anyone tried these?

Attached is a photo of what they look like the blue set of six

Also attached is a photo of nismo 555cc injectors, just to compare

Dunno if they would fit, they look alot like RB25 injectors though

If they are low impedence, you could wire in a GTR resistor pack and it should work fine

They look too large at the base to fit in the RB25 rail. Have you looked into 550cc 20B cosmo injectors?

I have, but they are hard to get and are nearly as dear as buying s/hand Sard etc rb25 injectors, also the WRX boys want them

Yes they will fit with a little effort and the wolf Plug in will drive them with no problem with out any need for a resitor. If you have any doubts email Wolf in Australia and say Steve thomas from SST told you the wolf will drive these injectors.

So are you using these in a RB25det?

If you are, what was needed to make these work.

Steve- thanks for the answer.

I'm using these in an RB30DET with the R33 head. I machined up some aluminum collars to locate them centrally in the bowl. A small amount of material needs to be removed from the bottom filter cage and aluminium tip so they will fit into the bottom of the bowl. Plugs are different. Rather than "cut and shut", i bought new terminals and plugs and re-crimped them.

They are high impedance (13 ohms i think).

The US spec are low impedance.

What computer are you running?

I think we have a communication breakdown here.....

To clarify, I have 20B cosmo injectors which i sourced from dysons and a rotary forum. These are high impedance. I machined up collars to fit these in the r33 rail as i mentioned above. Computer is Haltech E11.

    • Yea - I mean I've seen my fuel pump which is decades old and uh, while I'm not saying this with real knowledge... but I sure get the ick at using anything in the fuel system that produced the state of that pump. Many years ago I went through multiple pumps (and strainers) before I dropped the tank to clean it out with extreme violence. I'm talking the car would do maybe 50km before coming to a halt, which resulted in me cleaning out the filter with some brake cleaner and going on my way. None of my stuff ever looked like what came out of your fuel tank. I don't think I'd be happy with it unless every single component was replaced (or at least checked/cleaned/confirmed to be clean here).
    • I'm not going to recommend an EBC pad. I don't like them. Just about anything else would suit me better. I've been using Intima pads for a while now.
    • Agreed, and in particular the earth strap that should go from the subframe to the chassis but it often broken or left off. There is a section in the R32 workshop manual you can follow for troubleshooting if you don't see anything suspicious, and depending where you are (there is no location on your user profile) you should be able to get your hands on a second hand replacement unit still if needed
    • Yeah they mention as a R34 for 2.5 Turbo...but then again thos "small" were also for R34 by that different site. But i look into it and that 310mm EBC is for R34 GTT. And by those you linked the specs are the same 🙂    EDIT: I found these on one site here: DBA 4000 series T3 DBA42304S They are 310mm...and it says are for R34GTT...are there good? EDIT2: ok they have pads too.  What "color" should i get for street use? I dont want/need some noisy ones...(and if they are not that dusty that is good too)
    • Yeah, shame. Maybe  driver's carpet is available 🙏. I am waiting for both amayama and nangun to confirm.
