Not sure how many people have seen this, but i thought its definately worth making a thread for;

Teaser:

-Majority of the systems and mechanics are directly from F1 :uh-huh:

-64 Valve 8.0L Quad Turbo W16 Engine with Electronic Constant variable valve timing, dry sump system borrowed from F1

-Produces 1000hp and has constant 4wd

-Seven gear, dual clutch system, sequential shifting and paddle control that shift gears in 0.2sec

and it looks fairly good too, i think we may have the worlds best car :burnout:

Its a supposed pasenger car (still concept) with a cost of over 1 Million USD! :Paranoid:

and thats just the beginning...

check it out :burnout:

also spun/crashed at two demonstration runs,

AND got pushed back a year from the original release date because it didnt pass VW's quality control tests. i would be a bit annoyed if i put down a deposit for one.

Annoyed? are you insane? Obviously 1000hp would be hard to control and harder to pass regulations

Go read about it properly and watch the videos, there isnt any car in the world ide rather have

especially watch the 4 turbo system video :D

it spun/hit the wall on high speed test roads(banked rings) and they admitted there was definetly a problem with the suspension setup...

regulations was not the problem, it was that the car didnt pass the parent company's OWN regulations..

of course i would be annoyed, its not that its taking ages, its that its taking ages PAST the date they said it would be released! ie. they stuffed up!

its looking like one of those supercars that ends up being a flop...

edit: (although dont get me wrong i wouldnt mind one if it worked properly!!!)

i personlly prefer pagani zonda, porsche carrera gt or an ferrari enzo..

the bugatti is too focused on top speed runs the others are drivers cars also capable of good top speed...

did u know that if you are gonna try and hit top speed in the veyron bugatti will send u a new set of tyres just for that? it puts so much stress on tyres that it is dangerous to use anything less than new tyres if attempting to hit the claimed top speed..

so your faulting a car thats still in concept stage? :D

bugatti has done something completely original here, and with new technologies and designs comes many problems to overcome, thats how a great car is made

lets talk about the engine, body, transmission, price, speed, power... not that its suspension still needs development (hence its still concept) or its release date has been moved because none of us have the funds to buy one anyway :D

its not in concept stage! its meant to be on the roads now! the 'great car' was meant to be made already!!!!!

and its not the first time that most of the stuff on that car has been done...

i give up...

fine the 4 turbos is sort of interesting..

does that mean 4 blow of valves? lol. "ive got 4 bov's bro"

although wats with the guy in the video calling them turbo-superchargers LOL and about how they stop the 'DREADED TURBO HOLE" LOL!

i think it must be a direct translation or something....

well it certainly is still in concept, and its most definately not a new thing for cars not to make their expected and stated release dates

its the first time all the stuff on that car has been put together as one package, who else has a W16 not V16, 64 valve 8.0L quad turbo 7gear 1000hp pasenger car almost ready for release?

i doubt it would have 4 bov. most probably 1 for each 2 turbos, but there isnt any info on it

hate on it all you want siks as you obviously dont like it, but i say props to bugatti for being so creatively crazy because thats how most of todays technology has been achieved.

how anyone can not like this car is beyond me

back to drooling :D

I guess because the rest of the world has known about this car for a few years at least and it never seems to get any closer to release. I watched those videos you're talking about a year ago and was impressed but nowdays it's more like vapor-car. They keep promising and never deliver.

see knore! its not just me :D

and it is NOT A CONCEPT!!!!!!!!

concept cars are are those created more to judge whether to build the car or just to show off the skills of the company, this car is wayyyyyy past that its a production car that hasnt made it!

im surprised u havnt heard more about it!

ok well i was trying to start an optimistic discussion about an insanely technologically advanced car, obviously that didnt work

and it IS still a concept mate, goto the bugatti website and have a read :D

either way, thanks for ruining the thread, i didnt realise it has been around for ages, i simply thought it was insane and wanted to talk about it

have a nice day

I welcome this thread to last year.

Bugatti can't make it work. I heard they have trashed plenty of engines and driveline componets and can't make it reliable enough to provide any kind of warranty. It's ugly as sin too. It's not going to be sold EVER.

The Chiron is the one to watch concept car wise in their line up.

yay! finally some optimism

yeh i think its intended purpose is to actually be the fastest production car available hence taking the mclaren f1 to school.

theyve still got work to do by the look of it, but the hardest bits are out of the way already :D

If it makes 1001hp on standard boost, wonder what it'l make with some higher boost, or possibly replace the 4 turbos with 2 big singles :drooling: :drooling:

I can only imagine what 1000hp+ and 4wd would feel like, im assuming it would make the car strafe at full power on most turns!

I wonder what this would run the quarter in? It certainly has the power, grip and transmission. No info on weight yet.

whoever said the mclaren has been out for this long and does it with natural aspiration.. obviously they have an advantage because the mclaren f1 was designed many many years before, and go read about the problems they had with it during testing.

Anyone who complains about this taking too long etc obviously doesnt understand what it takes to make the worlds fastest car. Bugatti obviously is still no happy with it, which is a good thing, because they want it to be perfect before it has a chance to show its muscle to the world.

I welcome this thread to last year.

Well i actually searched for bugattie and veyron and didnt find a single thread so i thought it was atleast new enough for people to see that hadnt seen it already, so welcome to now everyone else :D

And how are you so confident it will 'NEVER' be sold ever, thats a pretty big statement unless you work for bugatti. Obviously engine tuning and reliability are the hardest issues to overcome with over 1000hp standard, have u read how much money and time went into the mclaren f1 engine? and how many times they couldnt get everything to work properly?

No company would put this much work into a car then just scrap it. Ugly as sin? In your eyes maybe, doesnt look so bad to me.

Yeh interior is pretty lame, but i wouldnt be looking at the interior with 1000hp and 4wd :drooling:

I spose at the end of the day you could build a 1000hp R34 GTR for a quarter of the price, and ide rather the GTR, but this car deserves some discussion

take a chill pill knore

Interesting thread though. Thanks for the info.

No worries, i just didnt want people coming saying one sentence bad things about it

if the thread was, wats the faults with bugatti etc then ide be fine, but i wanted a positive thread

anyways, where did you get 8.8sec from? cos thats nuts!

    • I guess one thing that might be wrong is the manifold pressure.  It is a constant -5.9 and never moves even under 100% throttle and load.  I would expect it to atleast go to 0 correct?  It's doing this with the OEM MAP as well as the ECU vacuum sensor. When trying to tune the base map under load the crosshairs only climb vertically with RPM, but always in the -5.9 column.
    • AHHHH gotchaa, I'll do that once I am home again. I tried doing the harness with the multimeter but it seems the car needed a jump, there was no power when it was in the "ON" position. Not sure if I should use car battery jump starter or if its because the stuff that has been disconnect the car just does send power.
    • As far as I can tell I have everything properly set in the Haltech software for engine size, injector data, all sensors seem to be reporting proper numbers.  If I change any injector details it doesnt run right.    Changing the base map is having the biggest change in response, im not sure how people are saying it doesnt really matter.  I'm guessing under normal conditions the ECU is able to self adjust and keep everything smooth.   Right now my best performance is happening by lowering the base map just enough to where the ECU us doing short term cut of about 45% to reach the target Lambda of 14.7.  That way when I start putting load on it still has high enough fuel map to not be so lean.  After 2500 rpm I raised the base map to what would be really rich at no load, but still helps with the lean spots on load.  I figure I don't have much reason to be above 2500rpm with no load.  When watching other videos it seems their target is reached much faster than mine.  Mine takes forever to adjust and reach the target. My next few days will be spent making sure timing is good, it was running fine before doing the ECU and DBW swap, but want to verify.  I'll also probably swap in the new injectors I bought as well as a walbro 255 pump.
    • It would be different if the sealant hadn't started to peel up with gaps in the glue about ~6cm and bigger in some areas. I would much prefer not having to do the work take them off the car . However, the filler the owner put in the roof rack mount cavities has shrunk and begun to crack on the rail delete panels. I cant trust that to hold off moisture ingress especially where I live. Not only that but I have faded paint on as well as on either side of these panels, so they would need to come off to give the roofline a proper respray. My goal is to get in there and put a healthy amount of epoxy instead of panel filler/bog and potentially skin with carbon fiber. I have 2 spare rolls from an old motorcycle fairing project from a few years back and I think it'd be a nice touch on a black stag.  I've seen some threads where people replace their roof rack delete with a welded in sheet metal part. But has anyone re-worked the roof rails themselves? It seems like there is a lot of volume there to add in some threads and maybe a keyway for a quick(er) release roof rack system. Not afraid to mill something out if I have to. It would be cool to have a cross bar only setup. That way I can keep the sleek roofline that would accept a couple bolts to gain back that extra utility  3D print some snazzy covers to hide the threaded section to be thorough and keep things covered when not using the rack.
    • Probably not. A workshop grade scantool is my go to for proper Consult interrogation. Any workshop grade tool should do it. Just go to a workshop.
