Situation: I have got a To4 turbocharger with no internal gate and T3 flange, a turbosmart 45mm wastegate, a busted rb20 turbo and a custom exhaust manifold with T4 flange.

Problem: I want to fit the To4 with external gate, but will have to modifly exhaust manifold, dump pipe, intake pipes, wastegate fittings and pipes etc. Ideally thats what i want to do thou it willtake time and money

Solution: The old mans a fitter and turner, and he had a look at the gear i had and a way we could go about fitting it all. After a good examination, hes come up with an idea. Take the exhaust housing of the to4 turbo with has a T3 flange, and fit it with the exhaust housing of the rb20 turbo. He says it will bolt straight up and only machining the housing out bigger enough for the T04 wheel is required.

Advantages: Exhaust will be the same and no mods will be needed. Can use stock manifold because flange sizes will be the same. It will have a internal wastegate, so no need to fit external gate. Slight mod for the intake.

So is it worth a shot??
