i also don't expect people to be like me (running out of car to re-arrange offender/s face) but to stand you're ground, and not to let things like that intimidate you, but do tell me what to do when they persist and you have to take an alternative route home/work etc, or causing you to excellerate more putting yourself AND THEM as well as 'other' motorists at risk of an accident.

i'm sure the boys in blue would be interested in the traffic hold up, when you're outta the car having a word/going off at the offenders not to mention other motorists that 'might' (you never know) be more than happy to help, especially another skyline driver/friend/relative that might see the whole thing.

i guess what i'm trying to say is not to get out of you're car with a weapon and go on a rampage, just approach that person especially the driver, you'll find their ruff/tough/mucho ego's dissapear.

Here's what I do when being pestered by Bogans. Look in their direction briefly once to acknowledge that you have noticed them. Then look straight ahead and raise your right hand up to your forehead with a clenched fist and make several forward and backward motions.

The Bogans will then have to go away and find somebody with a complete brain to ask what this meant. A normal person will able to clue them up to the fact that "He was saying that you're a Dickhead", at which time they will get very angry, but i'm long gone and quite probably still laughing.

Well it works for me.......

whytry: hey I wasnt having a go at you, dont get me wrong, its just that I dont have that option, and yes you are right, being a female does allow me a certain amount of leeway. but then again, what do I do if I get a serious nutter going off their brain and threatening me on the road?? Like I said I dont know, if it happens to me I will sure let you know! I definately didnt intend to offend you, and if I did , I apologise (gees, a female that can apologise???!!! hahahaha)

Hey Guy's and Gal

I'm divided, It's a situational thing. You will all make the right choice at the time. Retrospectively it doesn't matter - you made a choice.

Personally for me I like to think 99.9% of the time I ignore idiots. On the odd occasion I can't. I'll do what it takes.

Til you get a psycho bogan with no respect for yours, his own, or anyone elses property, and who knows what this means. Whoops.

Ignorance is bliss, best ignoring people like all the above.

Ahhh, the psycho bogan. Now this guy will probably want to do all of the above mentioned anyway, just cause you and your superior veee-hicle happened to exist in the same time and place as him and his bogandore.

That's why many a savvy motorist has taken up the sport of baseball and conveniently carries their equipment in the car, just for those special occasions when someone can't take a hint. :devil2:

Or of course, there's the ignoring him option.........

LL cool J in deep blue sea: as i walk through the valley of death, i shall fear no evil, for i am the baddest otherfu**er in the valley and i carry an AXE!!! lol

im more on ewans side here though, who cares if a fu**er pays you out, have a laugh about it.....make a thread about it, and remind yourself how pathetic they are.

but if worst comes to worst be prepared to protect yourself, hence the 7iron that now resides in my boot. for those of you that know me, you'll know most guys are a bit taller than me, and i wouldnt really intimidate them, but i guess if it came down to it and they were my size, i'd have no problems dropping them, but its treally not me anyway, i'd rather let them think they scared me and let it go.

I'd get in trouble if i took someone out who was harassing/assaulting me. having a black belt in taekwondo makes the cops look down on you if you use 'self defence' too strongly.

it is handy for subduing people though. wrist locks and arm bars are so effective.

Or maybe we could remember that ancient Oriental chant that goes something like..."The path of da Skyline is beset with peril by the injustices of the speed camera

& da tyranny of learner drivers. Blessed is he who shats on da HSV through

the valley of hair pin turns, 4 he is truly his cars tuner & the finder of

lost power & I shalt strike down with great boost & furious acceleration on

whoever doth attempt 2 obstruct or delay my overtaking & u shalt feel da

wrath of my turbocharged engine when I lay my tread marks upon thee"...with slight apologies to Samuel L. Jackson...

hahaha great jayce, laughed very very muchly!!!

Terminal, your probably just a ******runs out of room and hides in bushes hoping he doesnt come looking for me* lol j/ks, i'd love a to know some sort of matial art, enough to be able to defend myself against an angry, big, tongan or something.

you have to warn people who are starting trouble, 3 times before you can touch them correct? and im guessing your photo and details are listed with the AFP?

I've never heard anything about that. if people have a go at me, i take them down. it rarely happens, there's always an easier way of getting out of a fight, but some people are just jerks and need to be taught a lesson.

i've always been taught if you're in that situation, let them hit you once first, then you can kick their arse

ok it was my understanding that anyone who has acheived a blackbelt in a martial art must be on record with the police, stating that they have acheived this rank.

its basically to say that once you have acheived black, you are easily capeable of killing someone without weapons, and if you do something brutal to someone, the cops have your abilities on file.

and its also my understanding that you have to give them 3warnings before hitting them unless they attack you. oh well, i'd still love to have the knowledge that i have that ability under my belt. (pardon the pun)

Hehe, fair enough then. Taekwondo is more of a sport the way i train for it, as seen at the Olympics style. I have a massive certificate, and i'm registered in Korea as achieving the rank, but no one ever told me i have to register myself as a 'deadly weapon'

It does mean if i use 'self defence' that the amount of reasonable force for me will be a lot less than that of someone without training

Haha I had an interesting one the other day, was driving my mum's Excel (ugh), the piece of shit coughed and spluttered and meant I had trouble taking off from the lights. A bloke in a silver late model Magna was behind me, obviously upset that I'd impeded his progress, yelled out the window "come on you ditzy farkin bitch!!". Obviously he couldn't see me through the louvres and Winnie the Pooh merchandise (yes it's a very tough car), so he was very surprised when a a solid 6ft bloke with a shaved head leaned out the window, gave him the finger and said, through gritted teeth, "GO F*CK YOURSELF". He just wound the window back up and patiently waited for me to get the shitbox going again :) Not so tough when someone stands up to them.

The best one though was when a mate of mine in his Corolla was being harassed by some bogans in an XF wagon. They stopped at a set of lights, four of them got out of the car and made their way over to the Rolla. Mate just smiled and said "I wouldn't do anything stupid if I were you", and pointed at the 45-odd people who were on the same cruise as him :bahaha: :P

LTSJase: Quality :D

so he was very surprised when a a solid 6ft bloke with a shaved head leaned out the window, gave him the finger and said, through gritted teeth, "GO F*CK YOURSELF".

bahaha classic :P i dont really have any dodgy stories i havent been abused well except once in the pulsar i was pulling out of a drive way which is on a steep hill i checked both ways went out as i was like 3/4 way out a pintara comes over the hill doing like 90km's and had to brake naturally i took off as quick as i could see he didnt have to stop then wehn we got to a stop sign later he leans out the window and says "if you do anythinglike that again i will smash you" i am ahhh like ok what pull out of a driveway ??? anyways he went off in his direction and i went off in mine :)

    • This. As for your options - I suggest remote mounting the Nissan sensor further away on a length of steel tube. That tube to have a loop in it to handle vibration, etc etc. You will need to either put a tee and a bleed fitting near the sensor, or crack the fitting at the sensor to bleed it full of oil when you first set it up, otherwise you won't get the line filled. But this is a small problem. Just needs enough access to get it done.
    • The time is always correct. Only the date is wrong. It currently thinks it is January 19. Tomorrow it will say it is January 20. The date and time are ( should be ! ) retrieved from the GPS navigation system.
    • Buy yourself a set of easy outs. See if they will get a good bite in and unthread it.   Very very lucky the whole sender didn't let go while on the track and cost you a motor!
    • Well GTSBoy, prepare yourself further. I did a track day with 1/2 a day prep on Friday, inpromptu. The good news is that I got home, and didn't drive the car into a wall. Everything seemed mostly okay. The car was even a little faster than it was last time. I also got to get some good datalog data too. I also noticed a tiny bit of knock which was (luckily?) recorded. All I know is the knock sensors got recalibrated.... and are notorious for false knock. So I don't know if they are too sensitive, not sensitive enough... or some other third option. But I reduced timing anyway. It wasn't every pull through the session either. Think along the lines of -1 degree of timing for say, three instances while at the top of 4th in a 20 minute all-hot-lap session. Unfortunately at the end of session 2... I noticed a little oil. I borrowed some jack stands and a jack and took a look under there, but as is often the case, messing around with it kinda half cleaned it up, it was not conclusive where it was coming from. I decided to give it another go and see how it was. The amount of oil was maybe one/two small drops. I did another 20 minute session and car went well, and I was just starting to get into it and not be terrified of driving on track. I pulled over and checked in the pits and saw this: This is where I called it, packed up and went home as I live ~20 min from the track with a VERY VERY CLOSE EYE on Oil Pressure on the way home. The volume wasn't much but you never know. I checked it today when I had my own space/tools/time to find out what was going on, wanted to clean it up, run the car and see if any of the fittings from around the oil filter were causing it. I have like.. 5 fittings there, so I suspected one was (hopefully?) the culprit. It became immediately apparent as soon as I looked around more closely. 795d266d-a034-4b8c-89c9-d83860f5d00a.mp4       This is the R34 GTT oil sender connected via an adapter to an oil cooler block I have installed which runs AN lines to my cooler (and back). There's also an oil temp sensor on top.  Just after that video, I attempted to unthread the sensor to see if it's loose/worn and it disintegrated in my hand. So yes. I am glad I noticed that oil because it would appear that complete and utter catastrophic engine failure was about 1 second of engine runtime away. I did try to drill the fitting out, and only succeeded in drilling the middle hole much larger and now there's a... smooth hole in there with what looks like a damn sleeve still incredibly tight in there. Not really sure how to proceed from here. My options: 1) Find someone who can remove the stuck fitting, and use a steel adapter so it won't fatigue? (Female BSPT for the R34 sender to 1/8NPT male - HARD to find). IF it isn't possible to remove - Buy a new block ($320) and have someone tap a new 1/8NPT in the top of it ($????) and hope the steel adapter works better. 2) Buy a new block and give up on the OEM pressure sender for the dash entirely, and use the supplied 1/8 NPT for the oil temp sender. Having the oil pressure read 0 in the dash with the warning lamp will give me a lot of anxiety driving around. I do have the actual GM sensor/sender working, but it needs OBD2 as a gauge. If I'm datalogging I don't actually have a readout of what the gauge is currently displaying. 3) Other? Find a new location for the OEM sender? Though I don't know of anywhere that will work. I also don't know if a steel adapter is actually functionally smart here. It's clearly leveraged itself through vibration of the motor and snapped in half. This doesn't seem like a setup a smart person would replicate given the weight of the OEM sender. Still pretty happy being lucky for once and seeing this at the absolute last moment before bye bye motor in a big way, even if an adapter is apparently 6 weeks+ delivery and I have no way to free the current stuck/potentially destroyed threads in the current oil block.
