Scuse me - These are the side Indicators?, not the clear front indicators.

If your keen for original go for it ($120) UAS. However, do they have to be original / Nismo expensive.

Wouldn't a pair that you think looks great from Repco, Autopro etc... do the Job ($20). Just my opinion.

Im looking ATM to replace mine.

So as I walk down the street I'm checking em out on the cars. Saw nice ones on a BMW - but again they'd be pricey.

Thing with the R33 ones, is they are recessed into the body of the car, a-like so:

EDIT: Also, here's a pic of the Nismo ones:

Ta Ewen - worked that out on my way through the car park.

- I walked out of work today and there was a black 33 parked under the convention centre. I took a look and thought - Hmm recessed! That's why...

I'm not across 33's like I am with the 32.

I have just ordered some from perfectrun.com.au (thanks Lazza), came to $64au including freight. Even with the likely 15% import duty, still way ahead of the $120 + freight most other places seem to be charging.

I'll let you know how they go, in case anybody else is considering buying some.

Ok, they turned up on Monday, so that's a week from ordering online to delivery. Not bad for parts out of Japan.

Cost was $64 all up and no import tax.

Now just gotta figure out how to put the little buggers in......

Also i am this is a call out to any canberra members who want a set (prefereably only 1 or 2 people as when i ran up the place JD_R33 ordered them through the price i got was about $44 for the indicators and $23 for postage however if we can get another one or two people i can just get them posted to my house and should hopefully save a few $$$'s so long as customs dont pick up on them. anyways let me know as you will hard pressed to find these for < $70 in aus brand new

There freight prices seem to be a bit hit and miss. Their web site says that clear indicator lenses are 0.1 - 0.3kgs which is 1200yen ($15au), they charged me 1500yen ($19au). Now they have quoted you $23? What the.....?

Anyways, still a lot cheaper than the rest.

    • Bit of a pity we don't have good images of the back/front of the PCB ~ that said, I found a YT vid of a teardown to replace dicky clock switches, and got enough of a glimpse to realize this PCB is the front-end to a connected to what I'll call PCBA, and as such this is all digital on this PCB..ergo, battery voltage probably doesn't make an appearance here ; that is, I'd expect them to do something on PCBA wrt power conditioning for the adjustment/display/switch PCB.... ....given what's transpired..ie; some permutation of 12vdc on a 5vdc with or without correct polarity...would explain why the zener said "no" and exploded. The transistor Q5 (M33) is likely to be a digital switching transistor...that is, package has builtin bias resistors to ensure it saturates as soon as base threshold voltage is reached (minimal rise/fall time)....and wrt the question 'what else could've fried?' ....well, I know there's an MCU on this board (display, I/O at a guess), and you hope they isolated it from this scenario...I got my crayons out, it looks a bit like this...   ...not a lot to see, or rather, everything you'd like to see disappears down a via to the other side...base drive for the transistor comes from somewhere else, what this transistor is switching is somewhere else...but the zener circuit is exclusive to all this ~ it's providing a set voltage (current limited by the 1K3 resistor R19)...and disappears somewhere else down the via I marked V out ; if the errant voltage 'jumped' the diode in the millisecond before it exploded, whatever that V out via feeds may have seen a spike... ....I'll just imagine that Q5 was switched off at the time, thus no damage should've been done....but whatever that zener feeds has to be checked... • I think Fitmit had some, have a look on there (theyre Australian as well)
    • Hah, fair enough! But if you learn with this one you can drive any other OEM manual. No modern luxury features like auto rev-matching or hillstart assist to give you a false sense of confidence. And a heavy car with not that much torque so it stalls easily.
    • Actually, I'd say all three are the automatic option. Just the different trim levels. The manual would be RSFS, no?
