I plan on getting a new turbo soon :) and will be getting Z32 afm and 550cc injectors aswell. I need to know if i can run all this with the standard computer with Safc2 and SITC? I have an auto so went the piggyback route, if i dont have to sell them and buy a wolf then i wont because it saves me a fair bit of money and hassle.

Ive heard of it being done before but just looking for confirmation.

Aim is 240rwkw at 1Bar

Cheers :)

Yes i think so. I think using the Z32 on the SAFC 2, there a couple of different options for AFM sensor. I can remember flicking thru the options on mine and it made it lump over like it had a big cam in it.

Soon i plan to throw a Z32 in it , as the AFM is maxing out now. I will be using the SAFC 2.

Yep.. The SAFC II should interface the Z32 no problems. Even in the instruction manual it shows you how to run a Z32 on an SR20.

With 550ccs... you got 370ccs yeah? So 550/370 = 48% lean on all maps. Thats pretty hardcore, not sure if the ECU will be happy with that... I'd try a 35% reduction across the board, and let closed loop work out the rest...

What exacly do u mean by that? That changing to 550cc injectors from the factory ones without tuning etc will make the car run 48% more lean on all maps?

Surely 550cc direct replacement injectors wouldnt be any different untill 370cc+ ?

:headspin:

Ok cool, so we know the SAFC2 can run a Z32AFM on the standard rb25det ecu.

Just need to sort out injectors now :)

Hi Knore, injectors are measured in cc's per minute, so 550 cc's per minute versus 370 cc per minute. This means if the ECU opens them for the same amount of time, the 550 cc injectors will flow 48% more fuel than the 370cc's. The ECU is programmed to open to open and close the injectors for different lengths of time (duration) according to how much fuel the engine needs. By adjusting the SAFC you are tricking the ECU into opening the injectors for a shorter time. As busky2k said, I would also suggest around 35% leaner on the SAFC adjustment as a starting point (just to be safe), then get it tuned properly.

If you don't understand what this means in SAFC speak, then I suggest you should grab a copy of the manual and have a read first.

Hope that helps

Ok yeh i understand the injector stuff, is there any way to auto lean say 35% with the SAFC2? Otherwise do it manually then tune from there as if that was zero correction

So basically,

The combination of SAFC2, Sitc, Z32 and 550cc Injectors will work on the the standard RB25DET computer without too many problems :headspin:

It will be interesting to see how the SITC goes with the automatic. Whether it screws with the gear change logic.:)

Mines installed (has been for over a year now) and there is no change whatsoever in how or when the auto shifts...

What would you expect if it was screwing with the logic? Harsh changes? Holding gears too long? Or something different?

I think prolonged changes, but ive never heard of this problem with the SITC

Because most of the power will be boost, i plan on tuning the sitc to help the standard ecu handle the extra power

or something like that :)

the most ill push it is 1.2bar so around 250rwkw hopefully

aslong as i can find someone good to tune it all it should all work out ok

Im still undecided on either GCG highflow or HKS GT-RS

    • If it (the code) wasn't still current, it should have gone away by itself by now. No, nothing it 10/10. But it is quite likely. Everything else to do with the ignition could still be responsible (which is wires and connectors). The car is an old piece of shit now, so all the wires and connectors are also old pieces of shit.
    • Lock me in mate, although I'm not sure if I'll be heading up from Goulburn or down from Sydney, either way, return will be back to Goulburn
    • Sounds good, we will aim to be there! @The Bogan I'll give you a shout if you are heading up to campbelltown for the meet too.
    • Before I get to the test day, just to finish off the android head unit. This is a demo from car start up....the standard/host system takes a few seconds to boot (same as all v37) but Android comes up quickly. In this vid I'm using the delivered launcher but have set the default to Agami since which is easier to navigate when if use primarily 5 apps. You can see the host system still takes over when required eg putting it in reverse, and you can switch between Android and not by holding the back button 3 sec. It is pretty responsive (fast) but you can see I had to press harder than expected a couple of times.  I still have the phone connected to the stock system, and that also seamlessly takes over Android music playing. v37-android-demo.mp4 The bigger reason that I put this in though is so that I can use Ecutek directly on the head unit. That gives me a dash with logging (up to 20MB only), high and low value warnings on any parameter etc etc. I've run a USB cable from the Ecutek OBD dongle to a USB input on the unit, easy. v37-ecutek-demo.mp4   The unit did freeze on the launcher the other day, I think Agami was trying to verify the license when it didn't have a data connection...will monitor and report back if there are any other problems but so far I'm very happy with the upgrade.
    • Nah that is just crappy GPS mapping, I did have a small excursion (cold tyres, damp track, surprise!), will post up that when I get a chance.
