Hey when im pumpin the beats all you can hear from the outside is an old rattling washing machine sound which sounds gay. Ive already got Dynamat in the doors, so they are fine. HOw do i stop the rego plate from going crazy? Dont think putting Dynamat in the whole boot is going to be right. What are your ideas?

Thx

Chris

hehe...if it worked in your doors, logic would tell you it would work on anything else vibrating also wouldnt it?

If you add weight to anything it will reduce the movement.

Also add a rubber foam dampener as suggested above to soften the impact, but both is best.

Sound deadening your boot is a good idea anyway imo.

A bit of foam between your plate and the car then screwed in works for some, for others a bit of blue tac, I don't see why double sided tape wouldn't work if it was thick enough.

I'd go some rubber stoppers, drilled so when you screw the plate in they sit between the plate and the car - this way will give it enough clearance not to have a chance to rattle on the car.

Otherwise use your imagination

i glued a nice sheet of foam about 6 to 8mm thick to the back of the numberplate and cut it to shape (and bevelled the edges :P) on my 180sx, then drilled 2 extra holes on the bracket for the bottom 2 nuts, and also cut the bottom bit of the bracket that sticks out a lil and rust proofed it. All up cost me about 5 bucks :D stopped the rattles good and made the numberplate area look a LOT better.

    • @GTSBoy This method was able to get readings of -10 to -2, so it looks like its monitoring.  Now I need to figure out why the vacuum on the line provided isn't alternating with manifold pressure.  I went with 2 lines that an RB25 tuner recommended but I'll get a longer hose and try directly off the back of the manifold.  He may have been used to OEM intake setups while I have a DBW setup that removed the MAF and IACV.
    • I work at a car detailing and tinting shop called Quark which gets all manner of German cars in usually (mainly due to a contract with Mercedes Benz Kita Osaka, BMW Nishinomiya and others) but every once in a while something special comes in, like a fully restored 1972 HS30 Nissan Fairlady 240ZG... The shop owner had immediately started applying film to the windows as soon as it was in the shop so the interior was completely covered in towels and plastic sheets. But I could get a few photos of the engine bay which was restored like new. Such an amazing car to see in pristine condition in Japan these days.
    • Was going to say the car pulls up nicely everywhere, especially going into that last long right hander before the main straight. Looks like a lot of fun.
    • Hey Dave, welcome aboard! Good to see another soon-to-be Stagea owner here. The wagons are awesome — plenty of space, still got that Skyline DNA, and loads of potential if you’re into mods. Definitely post up pics when you get it, everyone here loves seeing new builds. What model/year are you looking at?
