tonight after having dinner with friends i went out for a bit of a cruise, come up to the lights at london crt heading towards the big arse round about come through that and ended up racing a 911 turbo which had no chance. We both stopped at about 90 klick just after the round about and backed off. Any way another skline (r33) bright pink thought that it was an open invertation to race, both me and 911 didnt race them instead sat back and ended up laughing at the r33 when they got done by an undercover cop in a white 4wd. That I had supected any way.

I feel sorry for the person in the pink r33. I wonder if they are on this so i can say sorry to them cause that would have sucked.

well sorry any way.

no he's not on the boards, yes fear the undercover white 4wd, ive been pulled over by it before (unless theres more than 1) but the guy driving it is very decent.

im not doing anything stupid regarding driving in mine, as the police have been out in force with formal time around and ive been getting a little relaxed about letting the speed creep up. so im going to be very responsible and not do anything i shouldnt now untill its sold.

Really is a form of gambling when you plant the foot.

Canberra has so many more undercover cars now days and I have even noticed a regular change in unmarked cars. It is varying between daily drivers a fair bit.

I'm not a big fan of the stealth tactics of the Police as it is so plainly a revenue raiser. It's never been aimed at protecting the publics safety or drivers safety or even enforcing the laws. It's there to raise revenue to justify the numbers. I dont care if they keep the numbers up and the revenue raising goes down. It means theyre doing a good job. There in the business of safety not the business of profit. They don't have share holders to satisfy.

What other purpose can hiding in the bushes, or hiding the fact that your police in an unmarked car. Keep it for undercover work fella's.

On the road it should be about being seen and seen frequently so the public see you and beleive me they will take notice and will slow down. It's a fact that guys are visually stimulated......

Thats my rant except the sooner we get a dragway in Canberra so that the thrill is on the track the better. If this reduces the number of fines given out on the street what tactics will the police use then. Constant defecting ?

    • The car remains in paint jail. I am now pretty convinced that the whole "RB25 Airboxes are kinda limiting to ~300kw" could be a thing. Also saw a good video from Engine Masters: (Sorry for FB link) (https://www.facebook.com/watch/?ref=search&v=761771519471924&external_log_id=c10bcbb6-2c39-4ff3-9240-287e9921fde6&q=Cold Air Considerations) Where they tested Pod Filter sizes and kept adding bends to a LS3 on an Engine Dyno to find if bends caused power loss. It's a good video worth watching - They did lose ~25hp from making an intake which had 3x90's and a 120 degree. They only lost maybe 1hp with a basic 90. I feel that by sealing up my airbox I have: 1) Created the same restriction a stock airbox would have. 2) Created a very convoluted set of intake 'pipes' by forcing all the air through the ducts. So I am pretty confident I'll be going full circle and have a huge hot air intake pod and actually see a benefit. The air does *not* stay hot once it gets flowing, aided by the ducts, and the pod can then pull air from anywhere. All the posts of yore talk about the stock airbox costing 10-15kw at 300kw+ but you know what? I f**king would very much like that 10-15kw and I remember my own pod filter in engine bay experiences. Turns out the GTT Reo and Headlight brackets really don't allow you to mount GTR items, no matter what the internet says. Various brackets have had to be made up to actually make it fit right for the front bar. Also some idiot mounted a 3L Accusump right where the bumper wants to go, so that has had to be 'relocated' To where, I am still not sure, but it's supposedly mounted in the pictures and I can't see it.
    • Sounds like the oil pressure light is wired into the oil temp sensor... As it warms up, resistance on temp sensor reduces, hence more current can flow and the dash light gets brighter.
    • Got the front subframe and suspension in.
    • If it's cold in summer, then no issue. If it's cutting out every few seconds and you're not reaching your target temp, then there's an issue. One could be the pressure switch and the other issue could be the temp probe inside the evaporator.
