heheh i was waiting for rumours to start surfacing bout cars from the west

even if its tru, im sure it wont be publically broadcast on here as there will be too many comments like "i told u so" etc

Isn't this a lesson to be learnted. :D

Use the stock accelerator pedal, cable and gearknob but aftermarket indicator lenses and rear spoiler end covers and this is what happens. Some people never learn. lol

Emre better be carefull. If Magic's car pooped it on only 511rwhp then he had better be carefull with his 633rwhp beast.

I'm sure he's not worried he has a few secrets that should help hold the beast together.

Sure has.18000ks of hard work and one of the origional valve springs has failed, rest of the motor is perfect but Tristan is going to port the head and fit QP springs. Had a minor miss at high revs and we found one soft spring.

Anyone that wants to see how well a basic 25 can take a beating can come in and check it out.

Well... We sent Ash down to see how it's done, so we can catch up.

After he gets back, we will all gather around a camp fire and just marvel at the stories he has to tell. I'm sure we won't sleep that night.

Can't wait.

:bahaha: :bahaha: :bahaha:

A little birdy told me that magic1 has problems and the head is off at the moment

Any truth to this, its nice to share the bad stories with the good  :(

i have returned from the land of relaxation, so where is this campfire?

Dragster33, your simply just being a dickhead and trying to cause trouble where it is not due. Who are you being the puppet for?

A minor repair and its time to crack out the big bad wolf and all the stories.

As im not stessed right now... i wont give you out warning points. Next time you try to dig a reaction such as that you will get some.

I saw this motor stripped, everything was in A1 condition, just a slight problem as Steve stated. Some of you people need to seriously grow up.

Yeah i agree, he is the same little gossiper that started a roumor about our car. Just because some one is looking for a guard means they have had an accident (right). So does changing the cars colour (right). If you read Autosalon issue 24 you will see that a colour change was always on the cards. The guard was for another one of our skylines (No.2 car). Go back to the schoolyard you little girl. Paul...DIRTgarage.

Its not that at all.

When people make statements that appear to be theoretically incorrect and don't back it up apart from a statement of "Every workshop has secrets" people tend to start thinking people are full of sh*t and loose respect for them.

And 'then' as you stated, Steve says people need to grow up.. hrmmm.. ok..

This is a board for sharing information not to drum up business for his own workshop by stating he can do things that others can't.

If he were to share a little bit of information even some kind of theory then all is good.

But I do personally hold respect for Steve as he has taken a lot of ribbing that he has simply taken on the nose and doesn't get all keyboard warriorish. :(

R31 Nismoid.. As I stated before in another thread..

Threads like this should be moved to another section, it really is off topic.

BUT I really don't see how this thread can attract warning points as it is not attempting to get a bite but simply a roumer that did have 'some' truth to it.

Sure if it was total bullsh*t then I would have to agree with you.

There is going to be a little bit of ribbing and stirring but who's fault is that?

lol,

Dragster33, you could have pm'ed me i would of told you what happened, in fact it is common knowlege that this was the case in circles that i frequent. 'YOU ARE A DICKHEAD'

Cubes, You are right there is a lesson to be learnt 1. dont believe everything that is typed on the internet. IE my dog got your sister pregnent, true there is a whole thread in the how to do section.

ylwgtr2, humble pie, hmmmmmmmmm what flavor are you serving tonight.

back to you ****ers.

    • After my last update, I went ahead with cleaning and restoring the entire fuel system. This included removing the tank and cleaning it with the Beyond Balistics solution, power washing it multiple times, drying it thoroughly, rinsing with IPA, drying again with heat gun and compressed air. Also, cleaning out the lines, fuel rail, and replacing the fuel pump with an OEM-style one. During the cleaning process, I replaced several hoses - including the breather hose on the fuel tank, which turned out to be the cause of the earlier fuel leak. This is what the old fuel filter looked like: Fuel tank before cleaning: Dirty Fuel Tank.mp4   Fuel tank after cleaning (some staining remains): Clean Fuel Tank.mp4 Both the OEM 270cc and new DeatschWerks 550cc injectors were cleaned professionally by a shop. Before reassembling everything, I tested the fuel flow by running the pump output into a container at the fuel filter location - flow looked good. I then fitted the new fuel filter and reassembled the rest of the system. Fuel Flow Test.mp4 Test 1 - 550cc injectors Ran the new fuel pump with its supplied diagonal strainer (different from OEM’s flat strainer) and my 550cc injectors using the same resized-injector map I had successfully used before. At first, it idled roughly and stalled when I applied throttle. Checked the spark plugs and found that they were fouled with carbon (likely from the earlier overly rich running when the injectors were clogged). After cleaning the plugs, the car started fine. However, it would only idle for 30–60 seconds before stalling, and while driving it would feel like a “fuel cut” after a few seconds - though it wouldn’t fully stall. Test 2 – Strainer swap Suspecting the diagonal strainer might not be reaching the tank bottom, I swapped it for the original flat strainer and filled the tank with ~45L of fuel. The issue persisted exactly the same. Test 3 – OEM injectors To eliminate tuning variables, I reinstalled the OEM 270cc injectors and reverted to the original map. Cleaned the spark plugs again just in-case. The stalling and “fuel cut” still remained.   At this stage, I suspect an intermittent power or connection fault at the fuel pump hanger, caused during the cleaning process. This has led me to look into getting Frenchy’s fuel hanger and replacing the unit entirely. TL;DR: Cleaned and restored the fuel system (tank, lines, rail, pump). Tested 550cc injectors with the same resized-injector map as before, but the car stalls at idle and experiences what feels like “fuel cut” after a few seconds of driving. Swapped back to OEM injectors with original map to rule out tuning, but the issue persists. Now suspecting an intermittent power or connection fault at the fuel pump hanger, possibly cause by the cleaning process.
    • For race cars, this is one part where I find having the roll cage bar having gone through a hole in the floor better than the build it up on a ledge inside... The Merc I help on, the main hoop ends are marked on the car, and the jack is marked... Jack goes under a few inches and lifts one whole side of the car up... Removes that fight for long slim jacks for race car duties!   My biggest issue for the daily drivers I work on, is my jacks don't go high enough. The jacks start out on a few blocks, jack it up, then start a second jack under it on more blocks, and then I can get an axle stand under it. My axle stands are presently in use, and are nearly fully extended. The car is sitting with barely more than a cm of clearance to get the wheel off the studs! Sarah's Kluger is the same, as it has an ungodly amount of droop available in the suspension and a distinct lack of good jacking points!
    • Happy? Yep, my to do list is getting shorter and shorter. Either this light approaching is the end of the tunnel, or I'm about to be hit by a train... Ha ha ha   Also, Duncan isn't that far out of town that you need to make a multi day drive out of it. 😛
