Are dump/ frontpipe in one noisy?

I've been told aftermarket dump/frontpipes in one are noisier than the stock dump/frontpipe.

Is the aftermarket dump pipe much noisier than the stock dump frontpipe setup with a 3" cat-back?

no, not at all.

A 'screamer' pipe is noisier than the stock pipe because it has a seperate pipe for the wastegate that pipes to atmosphere and not the cat.

If you are referring to the ones that have a wider mouth to accomodate both the exhaust and wastegate and pipes into the cat, they are not noisier than the standard pipe.

It's definitely noisier. Just look at the different thickness of the metal of the two.

It's not shit loads noisier though and I don't mean it's noisier out the back I mean it's noisier in the engine bay and subsequently in the car.

Fact is though, you want power, you gotta make noise.

i installed a dump/front (in one) + catco high flow cat + a 3' catback today

it wasnt that noisy to my suprise but it did need getting used to

after bout 2-3 hrs later, it was all good =)

How about split dump pipe ? are they any good compare to the dump and front pipe in one ? coz i was thinking of getting myself a split dump and 3' front pipe instead of the 3'dump and front pipe in one.

They are definitely better but some people would say that the cost/benefit analysis doesn't add up.

I think thermal wrap would reduce noise for sure.

Make sure it's a ceramic coated type, they run cooler in the engine bay.

Try to re-install as many of the factory heat shields as you can too or it's bye-bye aircon hoses.
