Hey Benm,

Can you give me Nathan's contact details? I thought wow that is just the car I want to get.. then I looked at the pictures and realised that place he got it repaired (and bought it from?) is North Shore Prestige - the place I am going with.

I wouldn't mind finding out how long it took him to get his in!!! You said he got it 3wks ago, I never saw that car there come in so I'd like to ask him a couple of Qs..

Cheers,

Tim

He actually bought it from that shop. (didnt get it imported) It was in there showroom, very spanky car and he paid an awesome price.

I wonder if he wants me to add the pics of his now damaged Skyline. I get shivers down my spine just looking at the frontend damage pics. :(

I'll pass your details onto him.

Hey Guys,

I am the owner of 'Nathan's '96' :(

In defence of the 'auto' decision... It didn't take me long to find this car. Exactly what I wanted and in pristine condition. If you find exactly what you want, you don't have to wait for it from Japan and you don't care whether it's auto or manual... enough said. I was really lucky finding this one.

The guys at Northshore were really good, but they don't know how to detail a car... That's really the only gripe. They even told me, after my dad nearly wrote my car off a few weeks ago, that I didn't need to worry about warranty etc. if it takes a while to repair and that if I needed something repaired under warranty and couldnt make it to Manly, i could get some quotes closer to home and they would probably cop the bill.

On the accident subject, have any of you guys heard of that happening to any other skylines? IE car accelerating and brake pedal hard (not able to brake). I suppose you don't hear of many people around with autos... I can post the pics if you want....

Hey Nathan,

Sweet. There is a car coming in to NSP on Monday which is exactly what I want, but some clown put a deposit on it. So I'm going to hope he backs out, otherwise Josh will continue looking for a car for me on Japan (he's the guy who lives in Japan).

Will the entire job be done under warranty? Because the accident was caused by a part under wty?

Cheers,

Tim

Must cost u some serious hosting fee's ?

I've just emailed 6 pics of mine off to you benm.

Timmy G - these are some of the pics I was talking about, I decided to reduce them in size and put them up. You can always come and take a look at my car if you are wanting a silver s2... take it for a spin.

North Shore Prestige is in Manly isn't it? I went there and they tried to sell me a soarer.

    • I don't think the shuffle can damage the turbos. It only happens at low shaft speeds and loads. It's just annoying (to some people - others are tickled by the effect) and it quite possibly reduces spool performance a little bit.
    • Oh dear. The panel beating needs to be done before the filler work. Do you have a photo of the dent before you started? Hard enough to not flex and only hit the high spots?  What do you mean it was just temporary?
    • Can u check this way it works for power supply?
    • These coils draw 10amps that what i read online
    • I appreciate the detailed explanation, think I understand now. I spent the better part of last night reading what I could about shuffle and potential solutions. I had replaced the OEM twin turbo pipe with an alternate Y pipe that is separated further away from the turbo. The current one is from HKS and I had a previous pipe that was separated even further away, both have shuffle. I had heard that a divider can be welded in to the OEM pipe to remove turbulence, and figure that aftermarket pipes that are more separated would achieve the same thing. From what I read, most people with -10 turbos get shuffle due to their size, though it's a bit less common with -5s on a standard RB26. I think Nismoid mentioned somewhere it's because OEM recirculation piping is common in Australia with -5 cars. It seems that the recommendation tends to vary between a few options, which I've ordered in what I think is most feasible for me:  1. Retune the MAP or boost controller to try to eliminate shuffle 2. Install OEM recirculation piping 3. Something called a 'balance pipe' welded onto the exhaust manifolds. I don't know if kits for this are available, seems like pure fabrication work 4. simply go single turbo My current layout is as follows: Garrett 2860 -5s HKS Racing Suction intake MAF delete pipes HKS racing chamber intake piping hard intercooler piping,  ARC intercooler HKS SSQV BOV and pipe Haltech 2500 elite ECU and boost solenoid/controller HPI dump pipes OEM exhaust manifolds HKS VCAM step 1 and supporting head modifications Built 2.6 bottom end All OEM recirculation piping was removed, relevant areas sealed off I'll keep an eye out for any alternative solutions but can get started with this.  Only other question is, does shuffle harm the turbo (or anything else)? It seems like some people say your turbo shafts will explode because of the opposing forces after a while and others say they just live with it and adjust their pedal foot accordingly.
