Bad R33(?) smash at Mt Martha

Recommended Posts

Just saw what looked like the remains of an R33 on the news. I say 'looked like' cos the it was pretty much unrecognisable from the rear of the doors forwards. Hit a tree at high speed and then caught fire. Driver and front seat passenger incinerated (probably killed instantly anyway), two rear passengers dragged from the wreckage and now in intensive care.

Hope no one here was involved....

Condolances....

From the mag wheel, it maybe a GT-R? I can't make out whether there's a big wheel arch bulge in the rear quarter panel as it's been burnt badly... But the rear wing seems to be a series 2 skyline (the square style)

Quite a sad news...

Was a black 33 gtst very heavily worked. He only had it for about 3 months. My condolances go out to his family as well as the family of the passenger. It is not upto me to release any names or details of the car, suffice to say there is only half a recognisable car left.

Words cannot describe the toll and burden that the famililes must now endure. This should serve as a timely reminder to everyone who drives a high powered car to be careful and if you are doing something dangerous....make sure you are alone.

hi guys

gerald here from ICE Performance.

the driver of the 33gtst was a very good friend of nigel my business partner, and someone that i had known now for 1.5 years.

he was a top guy and will be missed terribly.

please look after yourselves,as we are not invincible.

Best Regards.

Gerald and Nige.

R.I.P Joel.

Im really sorry to hear about what could only be described as a tragedy. It has opened my eyes to the reality of what we each risk when we turn these cars which we love on. As stated we are not invincible and this pretty much proves it.

My condollences go out to the families and friends of all those involved and hope that we never have to hear or see anything like this happen to anyone from here or anywhere else.

Drive safe.

Cheers,

Ni.

I only meet joel once at ice performance, i was under the hood of my car try to work something out. He came along to see what the problem was, and was very eager to help. Even though we spoke for a few minutes, u knew what kind of person he was, he was a TOP BLOKE

R.I.P dude

We will all miss ya

My condolences go out to frooends and family of the guys that were involved in the smash at MT. Martha.

I live just down the road from the accident in MT Martha and drive down that rd at least twice a day. Very dangerous, lots of bends and hills. In the wet even going at 60 (the speed limit) is sketchy if u dont know the road well.

Thanks also go out to the locals who got the other 2 guys out of the car before it exploded. Absolute heros.

    • thanks for the advice on the box... i was thinking the 6 speed was better for cruising on the highway but on closer inspection and comparison the Rb 5 speed box was not too different...  So the choice is going to be the RB25 box... if I can save up and find one at the right price
    • Thanks Matt, yes that's what i am aiming for. Just going to apply the right voltage and grounds to the dash connector. Hence my search for these pins... any chance you know if these pins are in the same spot as the ones on the S15 Dash connector? as mentioned above on page 8?
    • Yes, unfortunately that's the one. Signal was noisy to begin with; after driving once and looking back at the logs I saw pressure constantly swinging between 0-200psi, or staying at 0 randomly for a few seconds. There's a lot of good sensors that share the same look and feel, so don't presume they're all bad. I bought mine for 20$ off Amazon and I should have read the reviews prior, as it's clear they're junk.  I purchased a lowdollerr motorsports sensor.
