Hey camma, I need to know where the final destination is so I can pitch this to the journos. They are hard enough to sell sh*t to, they have to book crews and all kinds of crap so let me know asap.

Also who did you speak to at NCA? I think I might be able to help in that regard also.

Yea im with leigh....

Gravel carpark and nice cars dont mix..

Stickers are good, maybe on pub tuesday they can be given out.. and even on the day.

Although the more lines the better... but keeping the club seperate from outsiders would be good....incase they do something stupid... "There not with us"

Stevie the NCA have been contacted and I require a joint decision from them and the Museum before approval to use the car park can be provided. I spoke to the Venue and Bookings Coordinator on Wednesday and she was confident about providing an answer early next week.

Whats the plan with the Journos are they going to the meeting place or destination or both?

Heres a thought just for the SAU crowd, and this might be a bit early but should we all meet up before we go to starting place with the rest of the clubs. So as that we can all park in same area, and it would look cool. lol.

I will wait until you get a decision from the NCA and the Museum then once thats approved I can draft up a small release about the cruise and what charity the money wil be donated to etc... And then I will do a ring around and see if I can get WIN and the ABC to turn up ( this would give great local TV coverage) and the local papers might be interested too. Although I will say now, getting journos to come to anything is a struggle (funny how its impossible to keep them away when you dont want them around!)

The best we could hope for is some journos turning up at the museum. I will have to have a long chat to you as we get closer to the date to discuss the details.

camma on another forum:

OK, the ACT AFP have been informed and I have recieved a response.

An extract from the response....

"AFP - ACT Policing have no objections to the Charity Drive taking place on the 13th February 2005.

This is on the proviso that all conditions set by ACT Urban Services or

any other ACT Government Body are adhered to, any conditions set by any Federal Government Agency are to be adhered to."

and further...

"The responsibility for the running of the event rests with the event organisers, not the Australian Federal Police. It is the event organisers' responsibility to ensure that all officials involved in the event, along with those participating, spectating and the general public, are able to perform their business in a safe manner."

With that in mind I would like to advise that everyone who attends should drive in a safe manner, i.e. doesnt be a dickhead! I am now finding out what approval needs to be provided to become an "official event organiser".

And yep ALL funds raised will be going to the Red Cross.

Thanks mate.

As mentioned on my site I am still going through the approval process with the NCA and Museum to use the car park and have a meeting with the Venue and Bookings Coordinator to discuss logistics on Monday. Approval or otherwise will be provided on Monday. The destination will be the Cotter a map of the exact location will be provided closer to the date (once the meeting place is confirmed).

We currently have 11 clubs confirmed that they will be making an appearance. This is going to be a big meet.

Some clubs are thinking of going to the Kingo after the cruise so if your up for a few drinks, see you there!

It has now been confirmed. The NMA has approved use of teh carpark.

The museum carpark has been booked in for the 13th February from 10:00am to 11:00am. I will be there to co-ordinate where the cars are to parked for the meet before the drive.

Just a reminder that driving like a tard is not acceptable. Here is an example of what happens when drives go wrong...

http://forum.hot4s.com.au/messageview.cfm?...60&STARTPAGE=15

With the cars people are bringing to the event we dont want anyone being stupid and damaging our prides and joy.

That said, should be a great drive and a big performance car meet for a good cause.

Stevie - are you able to do your thing with the media?

I just had a read of that thread and i hate to be a party pooper, but are we sure there will be enough room at the museum carpark? the posts in that thread keep saying that there wasn't enough space at the meetup point.

Just checking, is all - I'm really looking forward to this and you've done a great job camma.

    • Just trying to get my head around this. At 5psi of boost, you turn on your wmi pump, and then you're using a 3000cc injector, to allow flow upto the actual engine, where you have your 6x200cc injectors and a 500cc injector. If the above is correct, what advantage are you obtaining by having the 3000cc injector blocking flow, is this just incase a line breaks between that injector and the motor you can stop flow immediately? Or are the 6x200cc and 500cc less injectors and just spray nozzle?
    • Welcome! New member myself, but I had an R33 back in 2002. Best advice I could give, based on my experience: if you're running the factory turbo, be very conservative with boost. I made the mistake of just fiddling around with the boost controller and cranking the boost for fun, and the end result was my intake pipes popping off frequently from the constant deluge of oil that was being blown into the recirc by the stressed-out turbo, which itself was siphoning oil from the engine and farting it out both sides of its centre bearing (or something to that effect). If I could do it all again, I would have gotten a new turbo and had a tune dialled in professionally and then just left it alone! Funny you mention the metal shavings in the gearbox, as I had the same thing - the probe plug (magnetic drain plug, essentially) would come out caked with shavings. At least it was doing its job. Not sure if that's just sacrificial wear and part of the deal, or if my gearbox was shagged, but I wasn't abusing it. Enjoy the R33 - they're a dying breed, and if they weren't $35k+ on CarSales in Queensland, I might have picked up one of those again, instead of the 370GT I own now (though I'm loving the 370GT, that big 3.7L V6 just hits different).
    • Howdy folks. I owned an R33 back in 2002, which was thoroughly beyond my capacity (financially speaking) to maintain/insure, so we parted ways in 2004. Fast forward 21 years (to literally yesterday, in fact) and I'm now the proud owner of a 2007 V36 370GT. I'm happily surprised by how much power the VQ37VHR makes, compared to the RB25DET, considering the latter is turbocharged. I had planned to add a turbo at some point but I'm on the fence about whether I'll even need it (though I do love the sudden onset of extra torque). Any other 370GT owners around the traps, I'd love to hear about your experiences with this car (good and bad).
    • Perhaps the answer is... more jacks!* *proper jacks must be used.
    • I NEVER think about using a scissor jack unless there is absolutely no other alternative. f**king things are dangerous, annoying and stupid.
