Almost everytime another wagon pulls up beside me at the lights they try to drag me off.

Doesn't matter if it's a young or old bloke, young or old woman. 95% of the time they will take off super fast.

I don't have problems with other cars, just mainly wagons..

Do you Stagea guys get the same thing ?

It's funny really, Stagea envy ?

LOL, true :(

I don't even bother in the Stagea, it's more of a luxo car than a drag car.

Oh, the cops here in Canberra had one or two of those 'hotted up' volvo's. I remember the news report when they started using them. They were bragging on how they could do 0-100km/h in 7 seconds !!!! Baaaahahahahahaha...

Anyway, in the first week one of them got written off cause the copper was chasing a WRX, understeered around a corner and smacked it into a brick wall..

We didn't hear much of them after that :D

I haven't been beaten by ANYTHING yet. Stageas are so STEALTH fast. Quiet, no rev/rev dump clutch, no wheelspin ..... just goooone. In the rain it is soooooo good, I had an white R33 GTST (dumped, big exhaust etc ) have 3 goes in the rain last week. First time he wasn't ready to get beaten, ooooops. Second time he tried too hard, wheeeeeeelspin but the Stagea was gooooone again. Third time he tried to slip the clutch to stop the wheelspin, bad luck, see yaaa.

Maybe if he hadn't lowered it so much, with too much negative camber and rock hard springs and standard shocks he might have stood a chance, it was toooo easy. Candies and babies comes to mind.:D

I had a crack against a commondore the other night, it was fairly even. i'm starting to want to same sort of stick as the skyline, but with the stability of the stagea. i love being a ble to dominate in the wet, but that extra 200kg is really noticable when trying to drag off people. 2nd gear also does it to me, it's a lot taller than the 2nd in the manual skylines, and the pickup in 2nd isn't as good as i'd like it to be

Have you removed the two stage boost? It makes a big difference in first and second.

Yepp, same here. I'm starting to get the itch for a bit more power :)

The car was due to get the Unichip on Monday, but he over booked himself  now it's due in next Tuesday......

Also have to see the panel beater today :) Someone decided to go a bit wide when they were parking next to me and thought that they would use my passenger door to stop them :D

I STILL haven't given anyone a run.. It's raining today so I might see how she goes. But as you said Term, you can feel the extra 200kg..

When i bought the car it had a boost controller running 10psi, so it's not running the stock boost. just feels a bit flat when changing into 2nd.

I reckon its a gearing thing, revs drop HEAPS going from 1st to 2nd.

And SK, how to remove the "2 stage boost" ??

Whats impressive is the accel from 100 - 140, its pretty good!

Ahh, yepp. I can tell mine is dying for the boost to be wound up a bit. I'm still running the stock boost (5/6.5psi). It's hard to tell that it's a turbo car the power is that linear.

Nothing like my old R33 that only had ~170rwkw. You could really feel the turbo kick in, but the 4wd of the Stagea is really cool.

Oh, has anyone else done a 0-100km/h run and timed it yet ? Just curious to see what other people are getting with what mods etc.. I found out that mine was running NO timing advance !! Yepp, 0 degrees TDC !! Now it's got ~15-17 base timing and it feels much better.

I think Zoom or another mag quoted a 0-100km/h time of 8.5 seconds, but they are always pretty optomistic.

Stag vs RX7 SIV turbo = winner (even with all the windows down & A/C on....).

I don't think I'd take on an XR6T though - I leave those duties for my Z.

The 4WD factor is fantastic, you can really take off without attracting any attention at all!

dads had quite a few try against his one, i dont think he has lost yet

So he shouldnt. I wouldnt expect anyone to beat an 11 sec staj. I would take on an XR6T now with the extra boost, would be fairly close I would imagine.

    • You just need to remove the compressor housing, not the entire turbo. I would not be drilling and tapping anything with the housing still on anyways.
    • So, I put my boat on a boat. First of all, I'm going to come out and say it. Why is Tasmania not considered a holy goal, an apex that all road-legal modified cars go to, to experience? This place is an absolute wonderland of titanic proportions. If people are already getting club runs for once in a lifetime 30 person cruises to Tassy then I've never seemed to see it. It is like someone replaced the entire place with an idyllic wonderland for cars, and all of the people living there with paid actors who are kind, humble, and friendly. Dear god. After doing a lap of almost all of the place I've found that it's a great way to find out all of the little things that the car isn't doing quite right and a great way to figure it all out. All in all, I drove for 4 hours a day for a week and nothing broke. I didn't even need to open the engine bay. This is by all means a great success, but it has left me with a list of things to potentially address. I also now have a 3D printed wheel fitment tool which annoyingly hasn't got any threads in it to actually assemble it. I might be able to tape it together to check the sizing I actually want to use, but it'll likely involving pulling the shocks out to properly measure travel at least at the front, and probably raise the car while I'm at it, at least in the rear. I scraped on quite a few things and I'm not sure how else to go about it. I was taking anything with a bump at what felt like 89 degree angles. And address those 10 other tasks. And wash the car. God damn it is dirty. And somehow, the weather was perfect the entire time - And because I was on the top of Mt Wellington it turns out it was very much about to freeze up there. I did something I typically never do and took some photos up there in what must have been -10 and the foggy felt like suspended ice, rather than mere fog. If you own a car in Australia, you owe it to yourself to do it.
    • Damn that was hilarious, and a bit embarrassing for skylines in general 😂 vintage car life ey. That R33 really stomped. Pretty entertaining stuff
    • Hi, I have a r32 gtr transmission. Does any of you guys have an idea how much power it will hold with the billet center plate and stock gearset? At what power level and use did yours brake with or without billet plate? Thanks, Oystein Lovik
    • Saw this replica police car based on a Mitsubishi Starion XX parked next to a 'police box' (it's literally a box) in Hirohata, Himeji City in Hyogo prefecture the other day. It's owned by Morii-san who is a local Mitsubishi Starion enthusiast. According to a local radio station blog post, he always wanted to make a police car himself based on ones he saw in his favourite Manga comics.  As it's illegal to modify a car to look like a police car and drive on the road, Morii-san tried many times to get permission from Aboshi police station headquarters nearby. They refused initially by after they got tired of that they granted him permission. However, the car can only be displayed on private property and obviously can't be registered as long as the police livery is present. The car was completed at a cost of 1.5 million yen (US$ 10,000) in addition to the car cost. A location was chosen outside Hirohata Police box where the car can easily been seen from the street. Morii-san has two other Starion road cars, both widebody GSR-VRs.
