Hey guys,

before you tell me to read the E-Manage thread in FI.. let me start by saying that I've read it and am familiar with what it can and what it cant do and I have decided if its suited or not to my particular application.. The info i'm chasing is.. who can tune it in Perth? And those in WA has had experience using E-Manage; who tuned it for you, how much did it cost?

Fane - indeed.. coz im not aiming for huge power (260-270) for sure so im fairly certain that the E-Manage will have no problems getting me there.. yes i know piggybacks would probably get the same result (SAFC + ITC) but since the E-Manage has become cheaper and cheaper i feel its worth a second look

if my memory is serving me well...... i think xspeed had a red s15 which used emanage and it was auto but had a few probs with it?

adrian :P

yeah Adrian the earlier versions had problems mostly with coilpacks but its been awhile and the latest version apparently deals with the problems in both Nissans and Evos

Not sure the latest firmware did fix the coilpack problem, as I've still heard of people having trouble. Just play it safe and put the zener diodes in like I did, I put some details in the e-manage thread.

That way you can also drop the trigger voltage down closer to the factory pulse voltage.

It's running fine with my auto transmission, never had any trouble with that aspect.

if you are making large changes from the stock mappings it will affect your auto operation to some degree . it may be acceptable to you or it may not

i have had no issues with my auto operation in over 2 years at the above power levels, shifts have always been spot-on and tight, no flaring,nada.....maybe its coz i drive it like grand ma ;-)

rev-limiter wots that...babababa...ohh THAT!!

Cheers,

Michael

    • Just to add, I found the r32 gtr ecu the most forgiving, the r33 one would get the shits.
    • For what it’s worth I drove my gtr for over a decade with gt-ss as a true daily after I pulled off the -5s, I had it engineered and went with stock ecu etc.  never skipped a beat.    I would only worry if you can’t get good fuel all the time in a tropical paradise
    • I bought an engine from a friend of a friend many years ago, it was sold to me as a RB25det Neo.    recently I started pulling it apart and noticed that the intake manifold was pretty different from others that I had seen on RB engines so did a bit of research and found that it was a non turbo manifold. So I’m sceptical now that it is a NEO DET and just thinking it’s a NEO DE (it does have a turbo strapped to it currently).    can you identify the engine model from the numbers on the block?
    • Yeah you can. Cable tie the gauge to a windscreen wiper, or run it into the car and hold it with one hand, or have the neighbour's kid run alongside and tell you what it says.
    • I've never understood why this bothers people. Surely you'd be looking at a T3 flanged Garrett style thing, rather than a TD? You're unlikely to push a +T hard enough to need that much fuel. If you're not starting with most of the things you need to do that (ie, the bloody ECU!), you're better off just going Haltech/Link. You wil hate life a lot less. No. Just no. Just turbo it as is.
