Dheng... i'd love to come..but i had to work...sounds awesome.

Hey RedEmblem--- i dont think i have seen your car..what plates do you have. ?

you must have seen mine around...its a Silver one aswell with body stripes on it and has a big NISMO windscreen sticker.

we should all meet up one day and just get to know each other...it'd be cool to cruiz around with fellow skyliners.

and you too insomniac....give us a wave when u see us.

Yeah, I think I saw yours the other day opposite Blockbuster Vid. Has yours got two dark grey/silver stripes down it? Engine sounds absolutely mad if it was yours.

You may have seen me. I drive a '96 Silver R33, replica GTR33 wing (but only because it looks nice, not to be like GTR or anything :aroused: ). Plates are 397 IGM.

Yeah that sucks nismo33, I was kinda hoping you'd be up for this one... we did the Sunshine Coast leg of the MSCIII with you, and I've waved to you a couple of times when you've passed me around Mooloolaba... a Sunshine Coast meet & greet definitely sounds good...

Hey 85URK, if you'd still like to come but need a lift, let me know...

... so far it looks like just you and me RedEmblem...

yeah i havent worked all week bcoz of the rain and i got no money at all. i can still drive my car, but not hard (dont wana break anything). i mite sit this 1 out i think insomniac, but thanks for the offer much appreciated. whats every1 doing on australia day??? i mite go out for a cruise around here. see how the weather goes. not looking good.

...actually, the same probably applies for Friday for that matter - if the weather is crap, I may give the BBQ a miss. It's a bit of an effort to drive down to Brissy for a rained-out BBQ...

yeah i know what ya mean. its supposed to fine on friday though, but we will have to wait and see i suppose. have u ever seen my mates subaru forrester slammed driving round with OGT01 plates. im usually in this if im not in my car also he owns a 200sx with HUS71 plates. but its not on the road much anymore, so if you are ever out and see us on a sunday or sumthing holla. otherwise il be in my car.

Is it a blue 200sx? There's one that I see (or used to anyway) around Technology Drive where I work... the plates seem familiar though, and I usually take notice of 200sx's, so I've probably seen it around. OGT01 also seems familiar...

Where do you normally stop/hang out when you go cruising?

INSOMNIAC ---- Yes it is a blue 200sx. lives near tha fruit shed. and OGT01 used to be on a toyota sartlet gt about 1 year ago. now they are on the forrester. usually pull up on the hill on sundays if we go out, or just lappin round. mite see us sumtime, dont go out every nite usually just on sundays coz we gota work most of the time. RED EMBLEM---- wont be going out tonight its to windy and cold, just stay at home a be bored. really wanted to go out though if the weather was better. oh well same goes for you too, if you see us round in either of those 2 cars or my skyline give us a wave.

    • That's probably OK. That's a face to face compression joint between two surfaces with the clamping load provided by those bolts. So.... it's unlikely that the bolts will end up feeling that load in shear, unless the clamping surfaces are not large enough, bolts not got enough tension on them, etc etc to prevent the two faces from moving wrt each other. Which... I would hope the designers have considered, seeing as it's probably one of the most important things the upright has to do apart from resist collapsing in its own right. But yes, it would definitely be worth asking them what their safety factor on that part of the design was. I tend to think that the casting, being a casting, is not necessarily the strongest bit of material in the world. It's about an inch square, and when you think about the loads that are being put into it, you have to wonder what safety factor the Nissan boys (and every other OEM engineer who has designed all the millions of other uprights that look essentially the same) used to account for defective casting, aging, severe impacts on the wheel, etc etc.
    • Those bolts would be orders of magnitude stronger that cast aluminium though.  And its mainly clamping force, not shear they are dealing with?
    • Except all that twisting force that is breaking a cast piece, appears to be going through 4 bolts in the picture Johnny posted of the BryPar one...
    • The smart approach is to use the gearbox loom from the manual car. Makes it a lot easier - just plugs into the switches on the box and plugs into the main loom up near the fusebox. Then you only need to deal with bypassing the inhibit switch. The other approach requires you to use the wiring diagram to identify those wires by colour and location, perhaps even indulging in a little multimeter action to trace them end to end to make sure, and then.... you will have the answers you need. The R34 wiring diagram is available on-line (no, I do not have a link to it myself - I would have to do a search if I wasn't able to go to the copy I have at home).
    • Hi, i’m converted my r34 4dr auto to manual but need help with gearbox wiring. There are bunch of wires no idea which one for speedo drive, neutral, reverse can anyone help me. IMG_6860.mov
