Hey All,

As per the post in the Vic section......

I've bought myself a gauge set and working out where to fit them in my R33. Does anyone on these forums know the ins and outs of ADRs with respect to fitting gauges on/in your dash???

Any help or advice is much appreciated :D

This might not be so useful because it refers to external gauges

This has a few things on visibility in the windscreen section

http://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/vrpdf/rdsaf...fe/vsi%2026.pdf

Unfortunately, though, no ADR info.

In relation to visibility, I had to get a taxi the other day and noticed a few things.

He had his push button job detail thingy mounted in centre on top of dash. Approx. 200mm wide.

He also had his id card mounted to the top of dash and also a holder for business cards mounted on top of dash.

Wonder how many times he has been pulled over for obstructing his visibility?

browny.....thanks for the info but I had a print out of these before hand and as you pointed out they only refer to EXTERNAL gauges. That is exactly my problem...Vicroads doesnt seem to provide info on this yet I know people have been picked up on this during vehicle checks.

FATGTS-R..........mate tell me about it. One rule for us and a different one for every import driver out there. Good points about the taxi setup.....also consider all those people with those little note paper dash attachments, toys stuck to the dashboard etc etc

Vicroads have an information booklet for Taxis:

My brief flick through suggests they can mount a dispatcher on the dash if this doesn't obscure the road surface 11m ahead.

Although I don't really see why discussion of Taxis is relevant.

You could always subscribe to the ADR's if you really want them:

    • @GTSBoy This method was able to get readings of -10 to -2, so it looks like its monitoring.  Now I need to figure out why the vacuum on the line provided isn't alternating with manifold pressure.  I went with 2 lines that an RB25 tuner recommended but I'll get a longer hose and try directly off the back of the manifold.  He may have been used to OEM intake setups while I have a DBW setup that removed the MAF and IACV.
    • I work at a car detailing and tinting shop called Quark which gets all manner of German cars in usually (mainly due to a contract with Mercedes Benz Kita Osaka, BMW Nishinomiya and others) but every once in a while something special comes in, like a fully restored 1972 HS30 Nissan Fairlady 240ZG... The shop owner had immediately started applying film to the windows as soon as it was in the shop so the interior was completely covered in towels and plastic sheets. But I could get a few photos of the engine bay which was restored like new. Such an amazing car to see in pristine condition in Japan these days.
    • Was going to say the car pulls up nicely everywhere, especially going into that last long right hander before the main straight. Looks like a lot of fun.
    • Hey Dave, welcome aboard! Good to see another soon-to-be Stagea owner here. The wagons are awesome — plenty of space, still got that Skyline DNA, and loads of potential if you’re into mods. Definitely post up pics when you get it, everyone here loves seeing new builds. What model/year are you looking at?
