lets hear it for biased polls!

and i agree with the sticker thing. if the guy wants to advertise things that may or may not be in his car it's up to him. he obviously has more money than sense and deserves everything he gets! including random beatings from stop light warriors!

:(

good luck on your quest gradenko ;)

I would like to Pose a question.

Is a non turbo R33 with A GTR kit rice? I am honestly unsure. where can you draw the line on this one

A non turbo charged car acting like it is a turbo charged car!?

"DUDE!..... It's A Lama" - From the movie - Dude, wheres my skyline?

Yep sure is

Doesnt improve performance of car and cost u time and money.

And y the hell would u buy a gts anyway??? they are heavy and underpowered y not get a decent n/a car instead? IMHO this is once again just for show. I wont go as far as to say every gts owner is a ricer but i did think it at one time. :(

Note: dont shoot me down that what the thread is for:)

it's a whole new realm, these people are beyond words

Macka,

you are a discrace to us and the world of skylines... HOWEVER seeing that you will soon have more output than a standard GTR maybe we could excuse you..... just this once:burnout:

Yeah i kind of agree with Boostzor on that trying to pass a non turbo as a turbo... ok then my next question... A GTST with a GTR kit.... single turbo trying to pass as a twin turbo... *GASP* i can hear some of you guys hyperventilating already... calm down fellas on this question...it's just a question....look forward to responses however!:uh-huh:

Definately rice.

What im trying to get at is "whats the point?" if u want looks get a BMW or some other poser mobile. If u want a performance car y bother working on the outside when the inside is where it counts.

I have noticed that i get more look form the ladies when i am driving the Jeep Wrangler then i do when im driving my car and thats a good thing. If i had neons and "im a ricer" written all over it i would prolly get the looks up the wazzoo.

My point is this: U dont see ppl buying ferraris and stickin wings and stuff all over em because they are built to perform while stock. The 'line is top of its class and u dont need any of that crap on the outside as it provides absolutley no benefit at all to ure performance.

Friend of mine (commodore goon at heart) was at the hat cruz the other nite. He said and i quote "man so many of those cars are covered in stickers and stuff i reckon Gradenko is the classiest lookin of the lot"

Now while i dont nessacarily agree with that, seeing as i barely even notice the outside of a car and believe it whats inside that counts, it provides a good insight of what ure average goon thinks.

A GTST with a GTR kit....

I guess if someone felt the need for fibreglass, a gtr kit is a good, if not better, than any of the others. The gtr kit doesn't look odd or out of place on a skyline (esp r32s), unlike some of the more fancy jap namebrand ones.

aw11, I started this topic to discount the pathetic defence ricers fallback onto time after time - "to each their own". And i especially wanted to target skyline ricers. Lets not involve other cars into this.

If we make 'line ricing as socially unacceptable as drink driving is, I, for one, would be a lot more happy. "If you rice, and then drive, you're a bloody idiot".

But if u rice and then brag ure an even bigger idiot:lol:

Ahh yeh i am. The only exception is the M's, now that is a car:drooling:

U gotta admit for that price range u can do alot better but ppl buy em cause they have a reputation of class. Which is fair enuff if ure 50 and use it as an a-b but if ure 20 and drive a 318i ure just a plain old fashioned poser.

I just don't see what the big deal is about rice

if the guy can beat you in a race, then you can't accuse him of being a riceboy since

a) he beat you

B) you were beaten by a riceboy (not something to brag about!)

a gtst with gtr kit is not rice

a gtst with gtr kit and gtr badging IS rice :uh-huh:

r33_cam's neons are not rice

they are...effects, and I must admit after seeing them that they look good

I don't sticker my car since I don't like giving randoms who pull up next to you on the streets a full run-down of my engine accessories :burnout:

tint isn't rice, I have tint, everyone has tint, tint doesn't make your car go faster

camber is rice on certain cars, but we don't have to worry about being accused of it since we don't drive stock excels etc

as with exhausts etc, depends on whether the car requires that particular degree of camber/exhaust width/bov volume jimi :lol:/excessively large gt-wings etc etc

essentially and as said many a time before, if you put time and money into something which gives the impression of the car going faster than it actually does, then they are rice

if they beat you then you'd be an idiot to accuse them of being a rice-boy :)

but in any case it all boils down to fact that the person owns a car, it is his property and can therefore do whatever he wants to do with it

sorry for the long-winded message, but this topic bores me endlessly :)

    • (Rb25det intake manifold) I’m having a hell of a time trying to find the full part or part number of this coolant hardline so far I was given these (Below) but they aren’t what I’m looking for and was told it’s the IAR or aac valve but that doesn’t seem to be it either. If someone could point me in the right direction it’d be greatly appreciated. Or if anyone has it for sale that’d be great too. I have recently purchased a greddy manifold and I can’t seem to find my old one to pull it off.  (Front Heater Return / Water Pipe (under intake): Primary part: 14053‑21U10 (front return pipe assembly for R33/R34 RB25DET) Alternative listing: 14053‑21U00 (same pipe, sometimes interchangeably referenced)   Heater Feed Pipe: Listed as 14075‑04U00 or feed-related variant 14053‑AG500)
    • This sounds cool. But, as per usual, anything really complicated like that, that I take on, constitutes a steep learning curve that I never actually "learn". I just get it working, install it and start using it. Then, when it breaks a few months later, I've got no memory of what I did, how I did it, or even the bloody IP address I gave it. I'm having more or less exactly that problem right now. My Proxmox machine was discovered to be non-responsive, and the VMs on it were ditto. Power cycle it to a stream of loud Dell beep codes - which was unpopular at midnight, I can tell you. Move it to the lounge room so I can HDMI it to the TV for a screen, see the boot messages complaining about the /PVE/data having all sorts of LVM problems, saying it needs to be fixed manually. And I'm like....great. How am I going to work out what I need to do? At least it wasn't the stupid Silicon Power SSD shat itself. Mental note for all readers - DO NOT BUY SP SSDS! They are shit. I have had one take out an entire VM setup already, and this one could have done the same. Maybe it actually has. Cheap Chinesium shitbaskets. I won't cheap out again, even on play projects with no budget. Because my time budget having to fix shit is worth far more than the cost of proper parts.
    • I do typically agree. These days even the screens most people use have more of a boot time than the main device. However, I've seen an interesting use of the RPi in vehicle, however it involves effectively building your own OS and MBR, as then it boots up exceptionally quickly, as you don't have everything needing to start up, and you can then also run it up as an RTOS, while still having more compute than an Android can give for things like display, and processing. A very huge task that would be though for Duncan, I'm not sure that's his skill set (or Arduino programming and wiring) ha ha. If end goal is definitely just water cooling, Arduino would be the simpler setup especially for a rookie. If he wants extra display stuff though, bashing some code in Python on an RPi may be the better result for both systems.   Unfortunately the new device I'm building at work which runs a display, is too slow of a display for dashboard style purposes. More extreme low power, update only a couple of times a day type system
    • I don't like "actual computers" for in car use. They take time to boot up, have OS annoyances, and so on. Arduinos etc are ready to go a few seconds after power on, don't mind being agressively powere cycled, because everything is non-volatile, don't mind being shaken and stirred.
    • As Fred would tell us, it's all about interpreting the rules. It's not a water sprayer, it's a water mister... But everything else you've said, 100%! Even a raspberry Pi would be great, use HDMI out for a display, and add a raspberry Pi CANBus hat to read values out from the ECU.
