Just to add to this, I got some cheap 4x6's for the front of mine, tried both some absolute crap "lighting bolt" ones and some slightly cheaper, slightly less awefull looking boshmann ones,

Both dont drop right into the plastic bucket thing the factory one was in, they have a gap around the edge so would sound totally useless. I will have to make/modify something to get a speaker in there so havent bothered since I was planning on flicking the car on sometime soon, but now I will be keeping it a bit longer I may get around to putting one of the 2 sets I got into it (the otherone will be used in my mame cabinet but thats another story) - anyway, just because its the right size on paper, dont expect it to be a drop in replacement

dj I guess the dyns you are fitting are the mw160gt.

I'd like to see how they fit as I tried to fit some to my 32 and concluded there wasn't going to be enough clearance behind the factory doortrim at the top of the grille once you allow 8mm for cone excursion.

I'm sure a man of your experience will have noticed the quadrant gear that invades the space behind the speaker as the window winds up.

no they weren't gt's and they DO fit. just takes a little bit of fiddling thats all... you've gotta sit them on an angle. i'll send you pics when my mounts are finshed dude. chances are i might be fabricating sealed enclosures for the 9" dyn's i've got my eyes on anyway, but i'll let you know either way.
