R33 and R34 cranks have the longer collar to run the oil pump as the R32 cranks had a thin one that can cause the pump to fail. You can add the collar to them.

I don't think there is any strength differences, if there are it's minor.

They can all be used in any RB26.

New from Nissan here, the last one was around $2500-$3000 ( I don't recallexactly how much we paid now ..) They are R34 GTR cranks, ex Japan. Got it in 1 week.

Second hand cranks go from $100-$1500. Quite often when bearings run the crank goes beyond tolerances.. and is no good unless you use different bearings, which is a bad idea.

A good second hand one with no wear would be worth over $1000.

The main thing to look for is worn thrusts and cracks.

Thanks, Is it fair to say that a used crank evenwith new larger sized bearings (after the crank is ground) will never be the same? Sorry to be such a newbie here but is it possible the re-ground crank & new bearings is more likely to fail as opposed to a new crank with new bearings? or are we just talking lady luck here?! :Paranoid:

Say you go for the r34 crank, what con-rod bearings would you recomend? (say 550whp) also do the rod bolts? Again type to go for?

No cash for steel.... so have to make do with stock'ish setup.

What will the stock crank hold? if held down, good oil supply?

Sorry.. question city here!

Fark me Troy, is there anything you can't do? Honestly, that's bloody amazing. So much for "jack of all trade, master of none" :P

    • @GTSBoy This method was able to get readings of -10 to -2, so it looks like its monitoring.  Now I need to figure out why the vacuum on the line provided isn't alternating with manifold pressure.  I went with 2 lines that an RB25 tuner recommended but I'll get a longer hose and try directly off the back of the manifold.  He may have been used to OEM intake setups while I have a DBW setup that removed the MAF and IACV.
    • I work at a car detailing and tinting shop called Quark which gets all manner of German cars in usually (mainly due to a contract with Mercedes Benz Kita Osaka, BMW Nishinomiya and others) but every once in a while something special comes in, like a fully restored 1972 HS30 Nissan Fairlady 240ZG... The shop owner had immediately started applying film to the windows as soon as it was in the shop so the interior was completely covered in towels and plastic sheets. But I could get a few photos of the engine bay which was restored like new. Such an amazing car to see in pristine condition in Japan these days.
    • Was going to say the car pulls up nicely everywhere, especially going into that last long right hander before the main straight. Looks like a lot of fun.
    • Hey Dave, welcome aboard! Good to see another soon-to-be Stagea owner here. The wagons are awesome — plenty of space, still got that Skyline DNA, and loads of potential if you’re into mods. Definitely post up pics when you get it, everyone here loves seeing new builds. What model/year are you looking at?
