hey all,

i know im prolly not the best person to organise this but smeh. after a talk with jayce today i thought id start a thread about ideas for dates and places for another photoshoot. places to meet, places to eat (i can rhyme fo shizzle ma nizzle dizzle) but most important places TO TAKE PHOTOS  . so yer. post ya ideas and then i guess we'll get a good day etc where we have every1's cars and no stuupid utes turning up lol.

only real idea i have to put forward is that we take photos etc before we have a bbq so we dont have less cars for photos. maybe meet somewhere in the city. take photos areound somewhere (ideas again) then cruise somewhere for a bbq. sort of like a planned route etc. eg. meet, photots, go to ...., more photos, go to .... 4 photos, move for more photos then head somewhere close to last destination for a bbq

so ideas any1. dates, places, what to do, times, what to eat/drink, and yer

am i making sense lol??

as a side note i'd like to get some of our cars at Ed's one evening and put 3 skylines up on the hoists and have 3 below them and line the rest up in front, as per Richards and my discussion a few months ago. It would look awesome and Ed can use it in his advertising someday if he chooses to.

and regarding photoshoots, new parliment house is always a good bet, or parked and lined up on anzac parade, hmmmm.....try and find a nice body of water somewhere and line the cars up there also.

ill do it for nothing, oh and for places to go well let me see. Most areas are still burnt out. Arrr there would be the molongo river nice and green and some water there. I also know a secret area down by the lake where a coppers log comes out.

I have worked in and on those bldings, if we stay away from the major arears all should be fine, eg main doors (which you cant get a car any where near there) drive ways, and crap like that, they wont care to much.

I work very close to the 'budgie on a stick' at Russell offices and have just got off the phone to the afp guys in regards to this. basically there isnt a prob with us using the area for a photo shoot as long as no direct pics are taken of the buildings. Cos I asked, I am now the point of contact for this (if it even goes ahead) , if we do go ahead, I have to send off an email with a few basic details, such as time, day, approx nbrs etc etc.

The corvette car club have been there before without a hassle, so we will be sweet too.

Cheers, Kate.

Thats right we can just move some of the shot to richards place so as his car can be involved. I am not joking either. :P

the 33gts-t is still faster than a busted 32gtr...sorry richard, had to say it ;)

i aint saying nothing...... (HARSH!!!!)

and also it would be cool to involve sinista in the photo shoot (almost like, its down but not out :P) but i dont think it wud be great for all cars to be getting photos there unless anyone knows a real nice place to be taking photos in jerra? there are a couple hills but i dunno any that have good views. alternatively we just tow sinista to a hot spot :)(id be happy to chip in money for a tow if no one here had a tow truck) what does everyone want in there background? what about a night photo shoot with the night life in the background? we need alot of light for the cars though, just ideas

    • I might just check it out.. A Q among all those skylines.. lol
    • Time will tell, they're doing all the admin stuff at the moment. I've submitted all the required details, photos, etc.   I was under the impression that DC coupling is the best approach, i.e.: Solar Array -> Battery Invertor -> Battery  Where as AC Coupling is simpler, however less efficient, i.e.: Solar Array -> Solar Invertor -> Battery Invertor -> Battery
    • The price is really great for that kind of capacity. I thought similar setups cost way more. How's your efficiency been with the DC-coupling? I've heard sometimes there can be a bit of a performance loss.
    • Long time no random post about shit. So I went down this deep deep rabbit hole of battery storage for the home, ended up locking in a 41.9kWh Fox ESS EQ4800 with 9 units stacked. Battery uses Lithium Iron Phosphate, similar to what you find in those deep cycle boat/caravan batteries. And yes, why did I go with a cheapie brand and not like Synergy? simply because I don't plan to stay at this house for more than another 3~5 years.  The entire install, DC coupling (removal of existing invertor, connecting the current 6.6kW array direct to the battery invertor), new 8kW invertor is $6K all up (after all the rebates etc.). Going with this lot: https://www.aussiesolarbatteries.com.au/ It did seem a bit too good to be true, however seems like the Whirlpool community has vetted it and when it comes to this kind of stuff, they seem to be all over it: https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/thread/9pxj8482?p=38   I've requested for the battery to be installed outside, next to my meter board and not inside - rather have it combust and ignite outside lol.
    • In Vic it would be a defect regardless of whether or not you cut a hole in the sheetmetal for the return pipe. The rules in Vic are shitful, and are generally interpreted as you can "make 2 mods to the intake system". Putting an FFP and an FMI onto it will almost certainly be seen as some huge number of intake mods. You really need to speak to an engineer before doing this stuff in VIC.
