I'll be there !!

At this stage i'm 75% competing and 25% spectating.

Last week I found another 2mph (100 -> 102) and I believe their is another 2mph with some quicker gear changes.

i think i'll come too, but 100% spectating so someone can cheer on the lines with pom poms

in a few weeks i should be there 100% competing and by then i expect Eav00l to be saying 11's for sure :(

good luck benm, on more PB's, il be cheering

blitz - she has 14.5psi now, cant run 16  need to get a head gasget to lower compression and she will push 20psi.

if i pull 11's im gonnqa run naked down the 1/4/... he he eh eh eh

make sure you post up the reaction time, 60ft and so on for this naked run if it ever happens ;)

I'm going to take my car for a run tomorrow night as well. I've been once before just after I bought the car last July and ran 14.5 when the car was basically stock. So this time with new FMIC, a little more boost (9psi) and more experience driving the car, I'm hoping to get close to a flat 14 or better if possible.

In any case, i'm getting my PFC installed and tuned next Friday, so I want to set a time tomorrow so I've got a benchmark to compare to once I run it again after the tune.

I haven't met anyone off here before, so hopefully I'll get to catch up with a few of you tomorrow (I'll be the lost looking bloke in the Silver R33  )

The clouds are rolling in from the blue mtns altho appear to be heading sth west over c/town.

Outdoors temperature is 24.7c here at penrith (was 27c this time last week which resulted in 40c track temp)

Geeze wasn't that a massive turnout in cars. I ended up parking my car after the 3rd run to watch some of the action. Nothing like a pair of PAC Rotory Mazda's going head-2-head.

My runs:

14.009 @ 102.07mph / 2.089sec (NEW PB)

14.571 @ 96.01 mph / 2.311sec (Michelins don't like 4000rpm launch ;))

14.662 @ 95.29mph / 2.233sec (oops I missed 2nd gear whilst racing a GTiR)

So that leaves me only a bee's dick short of a 13sec pass still with a lot of explaining to do.

In detail:

R/T: 0.206 (PB: 0.035)

60: 2.089 (PB)

330: 5.888 (PB)

660: 9.080 (PB)

1000 Mph: 76.77 (PB: 79.84)

1000: 11.751 (PB)

ET: 14.009 (PB)

Mph: 102.07 (PB)

It's all down to getting more traction now :P

I was pretty happy with my run last night and I broke into the 13's which I was pretty happy about as well considering I was still having a problem getting much traction (damm Falken z386's!).

In detail,

R/T: 0.227

60': 2.247

330': 6.006

660': 9.067

1000 mph: 81.05

1000': 11.703

ET: 13.931

MPH: 101.37

It's interesting to compare times benm - your 60 foot time is heaps better than mine, your MPH is higher than mine, yet my ET was slightly better than yours...weird! I'm not sure what mods you've done to yours, but basically I've got FMIC, cat back exhaust, mines ecu (which i'm turfing for a PFC on Friday), K&N panel filter and 9psi.

I saw quite a few Skylines last night, although I didn't know who was actually from SAU. In hindsight, I should have just said hi, but I guess I'm slightly shy lol

BTW, that 400R looked like a beast of a machine and I had both PAC Rotaries behind me in staging and they're both awesome looking cars (although I shit my pants for a second when it looked like I was going to line up against "THUMPER"...but he went after me which was good).

Good night overall...I'll definately be back in a few weeks time to see how it runs with the PFC and tune.

to say the least i was FU**KN Pissed off.

i was wondering y oi was only getting 101MPH at the end on high boost and pulling 14.0 ET

cheked my boost guage it was only on about 10psi, i got a boost leak somewhere high boost is set to 15psi and low is 12psi....

Bugger it im gonna put a head gasget on there and boost it up 2 20psi..

ill be out 4 a few weeks now guys

Tell me about it and it has been eating me up for a good 9mths now when I see other Skylines doing better ET's, slower TS's and worse 60ft's yet i'm still stuck in the 14's and they are doing like 13.5-13.9's with less power. With a 1.9sec 60ft i'd say I have an easy 105mph TS too :(

Click >HERE:)

'400R' is without a doubt the best GTR i've seen run at WSID. He wasn't even stomping it off the line, just taking off like normal and waiting for boost to kick in :)

I had 'thumper' parked behind me out the back in the lineup. I spent about an hour shitting my pants thinking I was gonna be up against him only for him to end up 2 runs behind me :) :)

    • The chart of front pressure to rear pressure (with one being on the x axis and the other being on the y axis) is not a straight line on a typical proportioning valve. At lower pressures there is a straight line with one slope, and at higher pressures that changes to a lower slope. That creates a bend in the line at that pressure, called the knee point. If you do not change the proportionng as the pressure gets higher, you will suffer excessive pressure (at one end of the car or the other, depending on which way you look at the proportioning action) and then get lockups at that end. The HFM BM57, from my memory of previous discussions, is based on the BM57 from a different car (to a Skyline), with a different requirement for the location of the knee point and the distribution of pressure front to rear, and so is not a good choice for an upgrade on a Skyline. Here's a couple of links to some old posts, one from here, one from elsewhere. A lot of it pertains to adjustable prop valves, but the idea is the same. There are plenty of discussions on here about this issue from al the many years of people wanting a cheap/accessible option. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/ https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/
    • Yeah dunno why johhny posted that here with no context, just post on FB/insta bro where he put it up?  Laine had an off at T4 during Thurs prac, he's ok, car is less than perfect, they are done for the weekend, he can fill in the rest. Bando also binned it like 100m up the road.
    • I feel there must have been a FB/insta post and the weekend did not start well at all I hope everyone is all okay
    • Yeah, I guess its pretty easy to get to if this doesn't work. Just wait till next oil change and pull it out. I am going to have to do the oil pan gasket soon and thought I'd just replace it while I was there.  Thanks
    • All that matters is you're safe and you were able to type that post. Hopefully heaps of parts you can recover for the next shell.
