Loud Cars, Fast Skylines, Police cat and mouse and cute girls.....all in one night!

Phew, where to begin? So I left home thinking that I would meet up with Oliver and Joey for dinner, then maybe catch up with Droooz and Tash and head to the farm, so of course I was well prepared to crash at the farm, fireworks in the boot, etc...... So anyways dinner was great and then we ended up with Bab's for coffee at Bill and Toni's, then onto meet Droooz who was busy so then I continued onto Double Bay where I met up with Yang and Nico and a few of their friends, including a couple of cute girls driving a modded R33 GTS-T.

We headed out West, being a stranger to those parts i'm thinking we were out at Cambletown when we met up with some other cars including an R34 GTT with yet ANOTHER cute girl behind the wheel. So with our band of cars including a FAST S15 Silvia, R33 GTR, GTS-T, 2 x R34 GTT's, R31 GTS, a N/A Supra and one tuff E21 we headed off in search of friendly private property to test our ability to hit the speed limit in a safe, law abiding way.....

This went on for a while and we were all mighty impressed with a certain VISHES S15 Silvia; I was happy to show the Supra that if you launch an E21 correctly then you will be able to stay in front long enough to reach the speed limit before he does.....

From there we headed back into the city for Pearl Tea :spew: which, "unfortunately", was closed, so we went to Harry'e Cafe de Wheels instead and I told them all a thousand reasons not to have your car valet parked.

We parted company at about 4:45am and I proceeded to head south, alone of course, and all was well until I hit my area, where a local member of the force was heading in the opposite direction and decided that perhaps my car was making a little bit too much noise to be doing 70km/h so sure enough he makes a U-turn and follows, so of course I take a quick right at the next road and then and even quicker right into a servo where I kill the engine, hop out, and politely ask Tiffany where the bathroom is. After watering my shoes i come back to find the same checkered Holden sitting across the road outside a local car audio shop waiting for me to leave...... hmmm, what to do? OH SH1T, I have bits and pieces in the car that DON'T need to be found....... so casually i empty my car and then proceed to make a few "phonecalls", another local rolls by having a good look, and then finally the cat across the road decides there are bigger mice elsewhere and leaves...... So I thank Tiffany for her help and quietly leave the back way, getting home, swapping cars, heading back and picking up anything I had lost and then finally getting home as the sun is about to break cover.... The moral of the story?

I met cute girls that drive fast cars!!!

Well hello Doctor in-law :) You're just upset that your car is sooo quiet :D Moanie, your car needs to be louder, remember the ricers theory? noise=fast :D

I'm thinking an RB25DET might help my car keep up? Once I hear the turbo on the car next to me spooling up it's all over, might as well be in reverse:wavey:

How often are you guys and gals out like that? Would love to give the Supra another chance :burnout:

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAA...

Helen's impression of my screamer pipe made me choke on a mouthful of water!!!

That was one weird-ass scream/gurgle/rrrrrreow...

hohohoh we will do again soon!

Whenever Yang gives the call... i will be out there... for my second chance =)

i won't be so nice next time... hehehe

plus i am not racing at the second "strip"/main road we went to..

That place is suicide.

I agree!!! Total suicide!!! I was freaking out for you guys! Would have been better if those trucks hadn't been there!

The most awesome strip that night had to the that first tunnel we went into....the start of the eastern distributor near kings cross....yang and i killed it!!!! Sounded amazing as well! :)

Can a barina mix it up next time? Or will have to hide away in shame and drive Yang's car instead :uh-huh:

Damn i wish someone had gotten Helen Motorsports' new prototype screamer pipe on tape, that would be, well

Pete.

    • Hope you aren't too sore after that one, might take a day or 2 to notice yet and I guess it is a loooooong drive home. On the bright side, tube frame front end is a thing at superlap, right?

    • The chart of front pressure to rear pressure (with one being on the x axis and the other being on the y axis) is not a straight line on a typical proportioning valve. At lower pressures there is a straight line with one slope, and at higher pressures that changes to a lower slope. That creates a bend in the line at that pressure, called the knee point. If you do not change the proportionng as the pressure gets higher, you will suffer excessive pressure (at one end of the car or the other, depending on which way you look at the proportioning action) and then get lockups at that end. The HFM BM57, from my memory of previous discussions, is based on the BM57 from a different car (to a Skyline), with a different requirement for the location of the knee point and the distribution of pressure front to rear, and so is not a good choice for an upgrade on a Skyline. Here's a couple of links to some old posts, one from here, one from elsewhere. A lot of it pertains to adjustable prop valves, but the idea is the same. There are plenty of discussions on here about this issue from al the many years of people wanting a cheap/accessible option. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/ https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/
    • Yeah dunno why johhny posted that here with no context, just post on FB/insta bro where he put it up?  Laine had an off at T4 during Thurs prac, he's ok, car is less than perfect, they are done for the weekend, he can fill in the rest. Bando also binned it like 100m up the road.
    • I feel there must have been a FB/insta post and the weekend did not start well at all I hope everyone is all okay
