Yeah pauly, seriously, just go down, have some fun mate. Go there with an open mind, relax, try different things, and above all, have fun. No one expects you to be a pro on your first run... The whole point is going there to learn how to do it in a safe, controlled environment. I'm thinking of heading down this wednesday too. I'd be happy to run against you, considering I'm new to it too...

Really man, you got nothing to worry about. Don't listen to that Rousey/383chevy dude. The skyline/holden/ford ratio is pretty much 50/50. You'll see a LOT of Iron Masks down there...

And one blue focus. :(

"We're getting creams by these ***in jap cars! they're better engineered, better build, cheaper and an assload faster!. Soon we might even lose the taxi/company car market!"

"What do you propose we do? we must improve our package"

Many weeks pass as the development team put their heads together and try to come up with a plan.........

"By joe i've got it. All we have to do it make the engines even BIGGER!. Everybody loves big engines"

keep it on topic or put it in whore town :warning:

hell man do the run youll love it i swear im the slowest turbo out there and i still have a ball

iff a few guys are gunna head down i mite just be forced to give it another go too

sooooooooo whos up for this wendsdy (2nd march)?????????

i have been there only once and there was about 3 of you pissant skyliners. we just took the shit out of yas all night with your shit jap crap cars it was good fun!

Thats pretty normal. Plenty of the Trevs are always on hand to dish out the crap, in the propper bogan way.

It just wouldn't be australia without them. It's all good.

btw you have a 383 stoker commo?

what times have you run in it mate?

383chevvy is just goulash. remember goulash? well he's back... in pog form

So pauly, are you going down there this wednesday?

I'll definitely be there, if the prelude chops you, then you can race me and chop my car to make yourself feel better. It's only a stocker, so I don't mind losing to anyone... I need a baseline figure to work off before I start "da mods".

what i dont know my car is a 1.3liter

I wen't down there a few weeks ago, my first time. I was the only skyline there. I only got 3 runs, against two wrx's one was an sti and some gemini. I beat all of them.

Some tool forgot to brake at the end of the strip and went into the sand pit.

Ne way I was running high 13s with a stock r33 with exhaust and 10 psi, I was hoping for better. To much wheel spin and reaction time could have been better.

Dan the man.. Whos this 383Chevvy guy? Have you guys looked at all the posts he has made.. I dont think people like this should be posting on these forums at all.

Back onto the topic, is anyone going down to whoop arse wednesday tonight?

I went down. Got 4 runs in before a rider fell off his motorbike. He hurt himself, but walked away. They took AGES cleaning the track, so I left before I did a 5th. I'll scan and post the timeslip later. 16.1sec, bog stock. First time ever. I met a SAU guy... DeviousDan or something. If you're reading this dude, sorry I didn't remember your name.

Im heading down the plex probably on the 23rd March. My cars in the panel beaters as of next wednesday for nearly 2 weeks apparently. I just got a new s/s exhaust and high flow cat.. Nows a good a time as any to see what it can do i guess

didnt get to go down last nite :) apparently my mate didnt have enuff money ;) which means i think hes running scared. Ive convinced him to pencil wednesday comin up into the diary so i'll definatly be headin down this wednesday even without him. Anybody else have a good run?

    • I seem to the be only person that is using a Haltech 2500 on an NA motor, I've installed a Bosch DBW throttle body to the OEM intake manifold and am having problems maintaining AFR even with the wideband o2.  It will run extremely rich at idle and up to redline, but under load it will go extremely lean in the 20s and i'm essentially having to rev it over 4k and feather the clutch to get it up to speed.  I've read a few other threads of about the butterfly, it seems removing the vacuum to it is supposed to have it remain open, i've noticed no difference under 4k with the vacuum line to it plugged.  I'm hoping someone here has had luck using the NA manifold with Haltech, and if they happen to have a tune for it.
    • I don't know any details, but I really wouldn't be surprised if they do it as a LHD only version, at least initially.
    • Thanks for the replies everyone. Definitely a coolant push. Oil catch can is empty and always has been. As the engine is out now I'll be having a good look over things. I do have some detonation on the piston tops from a trigger issue back about 5 years ago. I felt it and shut off then bought a new ecu and changed the trigger. Never been an issue since. It never hurt the power, its made almost 80hp more since that incident but I will pull the bearing caps to take a look. If the bearings are damaged I will do a bottom end refresh. Head is being re conditioned at the moment and the block will be cleaned and checked to ensure it's flat. I'll go with a kameari gasket and see how it ends up. The other thing I'm not super keen on is the cylinder colours. I suspect this is from the inlet manifold. The plan will be to put it back together, retune and then stick a plazmaman billet inlet on it and retune. I'm happy with the power, if it makes a little more, then great, but I would rather just make everything more efficient at this stage.
    • Maybe they'll look to do a bunch of presales to help inject some cash fast for their financial issues...
    • Does it also misfire equally when revving?   Josh is very correct in what you should do. The coilpack harness wiring loom itself is a known problem due to its age and the number of heat cycles it has gone through. Throwing parts at a vehicle to diagnose the issue isn't a smart or good way to do it. Secondly, you may have a bad coil pack, you pop replacements in, they fix that issue, but messing with the harness breaks it, so the issue persists. So now you think "well it wasn't the coil packs" and have to continue chasing your tail, potentially swapping back in your shit coil packs and returning the good ones (yes, I've seen people do this because 'it wasn't the problem' and they want to save money). And suddenly, you've got two issues with the same symptoms...   Diagnose, don't use the spare parts shotgun.
