Hey guys just speaking with a guy at the moment about buying this cooler but am a little worried it might not fit. He has informed me that the size is 800'300'78 however i would be thinking that is the overall size and the actuall core size would be 600 x 300 x 75 as that seems to be the general size of the hybrid/chinese made coolers. anyways this is the cooler on his car with a gtr front bar it just looks very big :P

well stevie after all this you were right the guy was not that good :( worst deal ever :) after 3 attempts to get the cooler first aus post second overnight tnt then him delivering it in person something came up each time. now onto the 3rd time trying to get my money back as well and at least this time I have a reference number if anything doesn’t go as planned. anyways after over a month of trying to get it I am over this one :D

now onto hopefully finding another one and I am hoping you Canberra folks can offer some advise :)

The following are some pics of an r33 gtr cooler which I am looking at getting for a decent price everything looks ok to me except a few bent fins (to be expected) but the top of the IC looks dinged up. could be the camera angle but not sure. Anyways I am getting some closer pics of it hopefully but can people please offer any advice on if it does look bad and does it look like a genuine 33 gtr cooler...

leech,

do you remember talking to a short little stubby guy about an intercooler at the dyno day? i can have a word to him if you like about it. its exactly the same as bluprint's. never used. he might even be out with us tomorrow night.

yea i spoke with john about it a bit on the dyno day. at the moment i would rather try and pick up a gtr cooler but we will see down the track :(

also the gtr coolers wernt all black to my knowledge also this one has been polished as you can see. but yea i dont like the thought of a dinged up cooler to much :D

Its easy enough to hit the black with paint stripper and cut it back to metal, many have done before. many will continue to do. I personly plan to buy a black GTR cooler, so no one can tell whats there :D Of cause this is some time away, im stil collecting other various items ATM

All standard R32/R33 GTR Intercoolers are black. The R34's are silver and also have a temperature sensor in them. That cooler looks like its been knocked about a bit, but you won't see the rear dents once its in the car.

*GTR ones are cheap,

*its hard to get a good finish with paint,(and im lazy)

*gtr came with black, if the paint still on after some 15yrs it must be decent quality,

*there are mixed opinions about the heat absorbtion of black intercoolers, many a debate about wether they are good or bad.

*I know a GTR one is decent quality, if i buy a silver one i will skimp and by a dodgy hybrid knock off......lol

yea what geordie has said is meant ot be true in regards to the heat some have argued that black is actually better if you do a search i think you will find some threads and boj01 thats what i was thinking i was more conserned about the integrity of the cooler itself. The guy said eh did a preasure test and it came back fine so i think i will wait for some more pics then make my mind up. cheers all :D

    • Out of curiosity, how do you cover up the inspection hole? Surely it doesn't sit open like that, right? With grime and dirt coming in and oil going out?
    • Hi from Canada, Both of my calipers are starting to fail. My car is a 2005 M35 Stagea ARX and I can't seem to find any parts or any cross reference caliper that would fit my car. Is there a company or a similar caliper that would fit and I could replace the OEM one. Or if anyone knows where I can find a new OEM. Any help is very appreciated. Let me know!
    • Maf is a question mark but TPS  I have set at 0.47, the fact that I’m getting proper voltage range out of it with the key on leads me to believe it’s functioning properly. I’m getting proper voltages on basically everything. I still need to look up voltage ranges for z32 maf and test that
    • Honestly no not at all, but it’s a very basic tune, it’s stock injectors q45 tps and z32 maf. Other than that it’s a completely stock base map. The file is from nistune and from my understanding if it was tune related I would be able to unplug maf and tps and it would still start even if it was a really shitty start. I have tried starting it with coolant temp, maf, and tps unplugged none of those 3 togethor or individually changes anything
