I'll be putting the orders in thru my trade account with Jaycar, which means I have to charge GST. Also postage to you will be extra, so please consider these costs as it might not always work out cheaper. Shipping to me takes about 48 hours and then I'll post them out in bulk lots on the following Saturday. I can only put in an order once the order reaches $100.

If there's anything else from Jaycar that you'd like to add to your order ask and I'll get a price for you. Please reply with what you'd like in this thread, and feel free to ask any questions.

If the total for the order is less $70 then I'm happy to COD it to you, but the postage will be more to compensate for the COD fee. Otherwise I'll PM you my bank acct number and you can transfer the money for the order in. If you're in melbourne you can pick it up and pay me then. If you're in Sydney I'll be in town between 20th of March and 3rd of May so you can pick it up as well if your order is in that period.

Just found out that the Digital Fuel Adjuster is sold out from the wholesaler. I'll let you guys know when stock comes back in. There are still some available on the shelves at Jaycar stores though.

Wicked, I'll let you know what I want soon (I'm being tight so I have to budget this in!), but would the prices go down if we got together 5 or more people, on an item level? I ask because the catalogue usually has a 'normal' price and a '5+' price (as well as 10+).

Thanks for this though :P

yeah there is a discount, the difference is usually about $5 for something worth $50. If people are OK with organising groups of 5 then I can get you a slightly cheaper price.

I'm very keen for the boost control and the handcontroller and Performance Electronics for Cars. Please send me bank details full price (with GST and delivery) and I'll depostit the cash whenever you like.

Next Wednesday is best caue I've just bought a heap of stuff but if need be I can deposit it before.

funky, I'm after:

1) Independent Electronic Boost Controller $58 + GST

2) Digital Fuel Adjuster $58 + GST

3) Hand Controller for Digital Adjusters $44 + GST

All this adds up to (with GST) $194.70, I'm in Melbourne so how much would postage be to me you reckon?

resonance, if you're in Melbourne, I can organise a time and place to meet you and give it to you in person.

cameron, I don't know yet, but I can find out for you when the first batch of orders is done, which should be this Saturday.

Also just a reminder the Fuel Adjusters aren't available atm because they are sold out to Jaycar stores. I've told them to put 10 aside under my account when the new batch comes in.

Yeah, sounds good. :)

How long do you estimate till you get the Fuel Adjusters?

Thanks again. :)

Hey Shan,

After reading the other thread about these products, im after:

The Independant boost controller

The DFA

The hand controller

The cable

And the book.

Im happy to come and pick them up from wherever. please PM me with payment details etc. Im happy to wait for the DFA, but please order the rest asap.

Thaks,

Rhett

I've read the other thread and it looks very interesting. Looking into if it will suit my application but just to clarify, for boost control I will need: Boost controller + Hand controller + cable.

Is that correct?

Yes, but apparently the book helps as it contains better instructions for the kits with colour photos instead of black and white photos, and more background info?

Yeah, I'm getting the book as well so as to read more into the kit itself, and I might build other circuits that it contains (I have built circuits for years). I would guess it would contain more info about using the kit too, but then again maybe it just contains a photocopy of the Silicon Chip article like Jaycar kits have in the past. I'm thinking that maybe the book itself is also a copy of the Silicon Chip articles, but in colour of course. Can anyone verify if the instructions with the kit, and the book are the same?

I can verify when I go around to Skylinegeoff's house. He's ordered one of each (except the fuel manager). I think we've got enough to put in a few orders now... so who's ready to order?

Go ahead with my order. How do we do payment? I can do cash upon pickup, or DD.

By the way, does one need a boost guage to use the EBC? I may need to get myself one of them too some day..

Me! PM and ill transfer the money, just tell me how much exactly...

Thanks

    • This. A 3d wheel alignment is like $120...just take it to the shop. Since theres probably multiple adjustments that need to be made after changing something. Mine has front/rear lower arms, traction rods, tension rods, camber arms, toe arms, front upper arms, hicas kit, sway bars and coilovers. I measure from the edge of the bolt holes on the originals and set the same length on all the adjustable stuff to dial it as close as I could to OEM. Took it straight for alignment; it didnt feel right at all...after alignment, it feels perfect. Similarly i've just changed the springs on another car; and I still needed multiple adjustments to bring it back in spec.

    • Its a well known brand in New Zealand; its a rebrand of the Rhino RAV3.  I don't know what the wiring difference *is* between the rev.1 (installed about 15 years ago) and rev.2; but as you say I would think its reasonable that it uses the same immobiliser relay circuits. I had a look but couldnt see a similar harness; but didnt move things around since I didnt want to mess with it   It was one of AVS well known Authorised Installers; I spoke to AVS themselves about it but theyre unsure hence seeking advice more so from the skyline community who are more familiar with the actual car and its wiring. Im in Auckland; but the installer is on the other side of the city so hes very reluctant to come back to even look at it to confirm something isnt connected into the wrong wire.  I dont want to drop the name since they *did* do a really good job for the most part. Everything is very tidy and he fully replaced all the alarm wiring, all the sensors, the wiring to the door motors, installed a switch which was never installed in the first place...really happy with the alarm install itself..just not this one issue. We all make mistakes, if it is the alarm, I just want my fuel pump getting proper switched, fused, power as it was; without having to shell out for an auto electrician to switch a wire and tell me it was the alarm.
    • Even with the piston at TDC there was room for it to drop, but I don't think it can drop fully into the cylinder, the problem you have is that you need something pushing against the valve to hold it up so you have enough room to put the new stem seal on and the spring etc.  I used compressed air only because putting rope in the cylinder seemed a bit risky to me, I know people have done it countless times before like this. Overall it's a pain in the ass job. Honestly you'd probably be better off taking the head off because the risk of dropping something in the engine and the finicky-ness of it all is very stressful. If you are going to attempt it though i 10000% recommend a 36050 valve spring/keeper tool. I had both the traditional lever type and after doing 1 cylinder it was absolute pain to get those valve keepers in place, even with 2 people. That 36050 is amazing, you do have to push hard to get them in place but it works perfectly almost every time. Back to my actual issue I think my engine is just tired and old and the rings have gone bad. The comp numbers (cold, no oil) were: Cyl 1 -129psi Cyl 2 - 133psi Cyl 3 - 138psi Cyl 4 - 137psi Cyl 5 - 157psi Cyl 6 - 142psi   Cylinder 5 and 6 having the most carbon on them.
    • Who did you have do the installation? I actually know someone who is VERY familiar with the AVS gear. The main point of contact though would be your installer.   Where are you based in NZ?
