I dont think that car is worth one dollar over $39,500 :(

Remember, it probably cost the dealer about $32,000 and he wants to make about $15,000 off you.

If you can live with that then buy it. I'm just letting you know how much bargaining room you've got, and at that price i'm sure they are not exactly getting a flood of interest. With that said its quite a nice and tidy car though.

I think importing one yourself would offer a low enough risk to be worth the $15k you'll save. The trade off is that you'll have to wait 3-4 months before your driving the car around.

I dont know where you get your prices from but i can assure you you cant get a good series 3 r 33 gtr here from Japan for $32 on the road .

Here is a recent auction example typical of what you will pay for a good car .

Lot #834777 at 03/23/2005

Nissan Skyline, 1997

Frame: BCNR33 Color: silver

Run (ths km): 47 Equipment: AC AW PS PW

Mark: 4 Grade: coupe GT-R

Displacement: 2600 Syaken: 07.2006

Transmission: F5

Price in Japan - 2240000 ¥ (~ 21310 $)

As you can see it was auctioned for 2.24 mill jpy , on the top of that add about 100,000 jpy for derego tranport in japan and all charges to load it on the boat .

So lets say 2.34 jpy fob , lets assume you will get 82 jpy to $ , thats $28536 .

Add to that 10 % duty =2853 + shipping costs all up lets say $1800 , total that =$33189 + 10 % gst 3318 =$36507 = compliance say 5000 including tyres = $41500 + rego + stamp duty + if needed brakes .

Now there is another example of what you can get for your $32 k .

Lot #815842 at 03/17/2005

Nissan Skyline, 1995

Frame: BCNR33 Color: silver

Run (ths km): 69 Equipment: AC PS PW

Mark: R Grade: coupe GT-R V Spec

Displacement: 2600 Syaken: 12.2005

Transmission: F5

Price in Japan - 1525000 ¥ (~ 14620 $

You can do the sums yourself just use my formulae .

Now have a look its an R car which means you can get complied here because its been in an accident .

Lot #815847 at 03/17/2005

Nissan Skyline, 1995

Frame: BCNR33 Color: purple

Run (ths km): 104? Equipment: AC AW PS PW

Mark: 3 Grade: coupe GT-R V Spec

Displacement: 2600 Syaken: 03.2006

Transmission: F5

Price in Japan - 1240000 ¥ (~ 11890 $

Now this is even cheaper but its only a 3 grade 104 ks with ? mark meaning more like 200 ks .

Thats the knid of cars you will buy cheap in Japan , good cars bring big money and some 01,02 gtrs bring more money now than when they were new !

Sorry about the long post guys .

If you need more , i have auction stats for the last 12 months on any brand of car you want and i have seen these auctions first hand .

man at our age its not 3K for insurance unless uve got a very very good rating, i was quoted 7K with a 20% no claim bonus rating when i was looking around for insurance for a GTR, plus the added fact that 90% of the insurance companies wont even bother speaking to you if ur under 21 and have a twin turbo car :(

I dont know where you get your prices from but i can assure you you cant get a good series 3 r 33 gtr here from Japan for $32 on the road .
someone might have traded it in on a new ssangyong (they appear to be a dealer for them)??

going by the used car list it doesn't look like they bring imports in themselves..

dunno just guessing here!

Hey first off, Settlers is well known for being a goddamn ripoff. Also I know someone who went there interested in a car and they wouldn't let him get an independent mechanical check - be very wary of dealers like this.

Thirdly for 47k that would want to be the most perfect stock GTR in existence.

If you really really love it then in my opinion get it completely independently checked and THEN offer them 40k, and be prepared to walk away (if they say no and you come back again they'll milk you).

By the way I doubt there's any hurry cos that GTR has been at Settlers for a while now, I saw it first about three months ago and not sure how long it had been there then.

    • Hey. Very valuable information about pitwork, I will pay attention when buying any consumable parts 🙏 As for the carpets - I got a handful of information from nengun, from which it appears that indeed the carpets for the driver's side are OEM. They are not able to show me any pictures due to the long chain of different sales entities but after I place the order, as soon as the goods arrive at the nengun warehouse from which they will send the shipment to me they can send me photos and if my purchase differs from OEM I can immediately return it / cancel the purchase. I think I will give it a try 😉. Of course i'll let you know what's what as soon as i get them P.s. I know the topic is not relevant to the thread, but both nengun and amayama have these SICK 😍 trunk room lamps available. Do you know anyone who ordered them? I need to have one in my car
