Taken from Lane Cove

I parked it, club locked it, alarmed it at 7pm last night.

at 6:30 am this morning is when I saw it was gone.

They took out the drivers side window.

looks to be jimmyd at the B pillar side, and because it was tinted, it is sitting nicely on the flower bed next to where it was parked.

Shattered but in none piece.

Called cops at 6:32am.

still waiting for them to turn up.

it was not parked on the street.

it was up a driveway, behind a garage wall.

can't see it from the street

Out of curiosity, just wondering what alarm system you used???? Makes me think twice too see if my current system is holding up???

Did the alarm system have black wiring, battery back up etc????

PM me the details if you dont wish to say on this post....

But sorry to hear, will keep a lookout for you.

***GUYS, if you see a skyline with wheel brace locks on soon, it will probably be mine!!! Im starting to freak!!!***

There's been a disturbing increase in this sort activity lately. Time for more kill switches by the sound of things.

Fairly determined f**kers by the sound of things. Sounds like they've been eyeing it off for a little while. Wouldn't expect this in Lane Cove.

Based on my previous experience with car thieves, the police will do absolutely nothing - I'm not surprised you're still waiting for them to turn up.

With all due respect. factory alarms are a bit of a joke. It would be easy for them to figure out how they work as all s14's would have them.

I would rather buy my car with no alarm from factory and invest in getting a full 3point black wired system installed.

Sorry to hear of your loss, I hope your car is found in good condition.

does black wireing really do much? arnt all the wires under the dash colour coded, if so wouldnt u just look for the black wire ?

no matter what theives know what an alarm looks like

if the wires are coloured and they have an instruction booklet then they know what to do with each wire

but if they are all black, they have to trace them

well this puts my plans a fair bit out of wack.

I don't hold much hope that I get it back. And if I do, I doubt it will be in a use-able state.

I had plans that I would run the car ONE more time at WSID to get a better time, then sell it and buy a cheap run about till I return from my honeymoon in december.

at which point I would use that money to buy a 4 door R32 and modify it.

NOW... who knows when that is going to happen, or if it is at all.

I will be buying a small auto car for now.

I will keep it till after the wedding and see how things are then.

I mean it's hard to save as it is.

but add to that a mortgage, and wedding preps and you have very little savings each month.

I hope the car comes back.

if it is smashed, I hope the ****s died in it.

TT

    • Ahhh, I need the whole head unit. I definitely needed to roll back through and review your setup, ha ha! Neat setup they have going on. I just need a full double din head unit. But I want good and responsive. I might have to review what the likes of pioneer have out these days.
    • Ok so after much research and talking with knowledgeable people I've got my turbo conversion done and it's all running great other than 1 small issue.  Car has remained auto with the na auto and tcm, I've used a stagea ecu with. NIstune board and everything is great other than my gear selection on the dash. It illuminates park, reverse, neutral, 3rd and 2nd. But nothing drive or what gear your in when you pop it into tiptronic.  I'm sure there is may e 1 wire in the ecu plug I need to move to rectify this. Dose anyone here have any ideas?   Cheers guys
    • Sorry I haven't been following all the detail, so you may have tried this. Does it idle with the tiniest bit of throttle you can add? You've mentioned the IACV, does it have an AAC valve and have you adjusted it at all (ie, screw the idle adjust screw all the way in, then back it out a couple of turns until idle is stable)?
    • My bad, I unplugged the one underlined in red instead of yellow before. With the car started, after unplugging the IACV (the one underlined in yellow), it idled at around 400/500 for 3 seconds before stalling. Attempting to start the car without the IACV will not start the car.   It does stutter and sputter for around 5 seconds before dying. However, immediately after starting it, you can already hear some slight sputters from the exhaust.   It won't start with the AFM unplugged. If it is when the car has already started, it stalls in a few seconds.   Yesterday, I did take some logs using Nistune of 3 scenarios. Car idling till it stalls Car idling and unplugging the IACV Car idling and removing the AFM I also have some previous logs of when the Car is idling till it stalls and when driving and it cuts. I am not really knowledgeable enough to understand what to look for. After every test, car idles rougher and rougher, until I have to stop. It will be fine the day after.
    • There is no difference between a 17x8 and an 18x8. The total diameter of the tyre needs to remain +/- the same (so you don't mess up the gearing, speedo reading, and clearance when turning front wheels..... so you just need to use a lower profile tyre on th 18 than you do on the 17. /rocket surgery.
