i had eyelids for a while...

i just taped around the shape i wanted with masking tape and newspaper then gave it about 5 or 6 coats with touch-up paint from supercheap that was a very close colour match...

never had an issue with peeling etc. even through the melbourne winter!

cheers,

Warren.

There are a couple of places that sell eyelids mentioned in this thread: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=68543

Including N1 in melbourne, they have them listed for r33 & r34 maybe give them a call and ask if they can get r32?

Good luck!

NismoR34,

I have had this post open for a while but as you can see no real positive response. I had previously seen those threads before posting mine.

I have rang: Jetspeed, N1, Motorware and various importers etc, but no go.

I think spraying them my self might not be such a bad idea, but obviously i would prefer the real thing.

Thanks for your reply anyway much appreciated!

Cheers also to "Interloper" and "Wazr32gtst"

Hi all,

Sorry for the delay...the mould is coming along...working on a good mould so i can make eyelid after eyelid with no drop in quality :( there are a lot of 32's out there, and i know that everyone is keen. I will also be looking into arranging professional painting for a few $ more...

Still trying to finalise mounting options so they can be removed if required, and make them harder to snap / steal as I've read that a few people had had issues with people trying to rip them off...

If anyone has a GTR or a GTR gril on their GTST, could you please post up a few pics of the way it (ie - the grill) is mounted as I want to make sure that they will fit GTR's with no modification required.

This weekend i plan to spend a lot of time getting it all sorted, and all things going well they shouldn't be too far away now :)

I'll get some pics up of initial concepts and the like to get your feedback so I can put together something that everyone is happy with. I'll try and get those pics up tonight ;)

If this lot is successful, i might tackle some of the other models too.

I'll keep you all posted with my progress, and if you have any suggestions or pics of what you're after please post them up or PM me :)

Cheers,

Michael

Popped d/s eyelid out of the first mould today... needed to modify it a little, so i'm going to be changing this one slightly, then comes the pass side :(

Batteries in the camera are dead, but i'll get them charged up and post a pic up in the dext day or 2 so u have an idea of the shape of the eyelid.

Once I've got my set and i'm happy with them i'll be making a new mould so u guys get quality goods :P

:D

The car is in a few pieces for another cause, so i took a pic with the h/l out

    • Yeah well per the video it took 15s for the stock unit to start up....even if I give it a few seconds discount for starting that is at least 12 sec before you get a reverse camera if you are trying to leave a park.  The android unit is way faster, but 2016 for the stock unit is a long time ago in consumer electronics
    • Yea that’s why I said ima test them with multimeter and see the reads.
    • Only at idle. Isn’t a problem when rev it seems.
    • @Haggerty This seems silly to ask, but are you confident in your ability to tune the Haltech?
    • Next on the to-do list was an oil and filter change. Nothing exciting to add here except the oil filter is in a really stupid place (facing the engine mount/subframe/steering rack). GReddy do a relocation kit which puts it towards the gearbox, I would have preferred towards the front but there's obviously a lot more stuff there. Something I'll have to look at for the next service perhaps. First time using Valvoline oil, although I can't see it being any different to most other brands Nice... The oil filter location... At least the subframe wont rust any time soon I picked up a genuine fuel filter, this is part of the fuel pump assembly inside the fuel tank. Access can be found underneath the rear seat, you'll see this triangular cover Remove the 3x plastic 10mm nuts and lift the cover up, pushing the rubber grommet through The yellow fuel line clips push out in opposite directions, remove these completely. The two moulded fuel lines can now pull upwards to disconnect, along with the wire electrical plug. There's 8x 8mm bolts that secure the black retaining ring. The fuel pump assembly is now ready to lift out. Be mindful of the fuel hose on the side, the hose clamp on mine was catching the hose preventing it from lifting up The fuel pump/filter has an upper and lower section held on by 4 pressure clips. These did take a little bit of force, it sounded like the plastic tabs were going to break but they didn't (don't worry!) The lower section helps mount the fuel pump, there's a circular rubber gasket/grommet/seal thing on the bottom where the sock is. Undo the hose clip on the short fuel hose on the side to disconnect it from the 3 way distribution pipe to be able to lift the upper half away. Don't forget to unplug the fuel pump too! There's a few rubber O rings that will need transferring to the new filter housing, I show these in the video at the bottom of this write up. Reassembly is the reverse Here's a photo of the new filter installed, you'll be able to see where the tabs are more clearing against the yellow OEM plastic Once the assembly is re-installed, I turned the engine over a few times to help build up fuel pressure. I did panic when the car stopped turning over but I could hear the fuel pump making a noise. It eventually started and has been fine since. Found my 'lucky' coin underneath the rear seat too The Youtube video can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uLJ65pmQt44&t=6s
