dc5s
Im wondering if it would be easier for me to import an R33 Skyline GTS-T to America from Australia (queensland) instead of Japan. I am guessing that ya'll have the same emission laws as we do (or a little closer). What do ya'll think? DAN00H
I'd say ship from japan, as some of the Australian mods may have to be changed for US mods. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/72275-easy-shipping/#findComment-1330956 Share on other sites
Tommyk
Its cheaper to do it from japan. You can pick up a 33 GTS-T from as little as 300,000 yen fob which is approximately 4 grand aussie, which is something like 3k american plus shipping Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/72275-easy-shipping/#findComment-1330979 Share on other sites

I am guessing that ya'll have the same emission laws as we do (or a little closer). What do ya'll think? If you haven't done so already, better read up on what's involved in getting a Skyline into the US legally - thanks to your laws it isn't at all easy (and at the moment may be impossible). Have a look at the following forums for more info: Skylines downunder USA forum: http://forums.skylinesdownunder.co.nz/foru...p?s=&forumid=37 Freshalloy Skylines forum: http://forums.freshalloy.com/ubbthreads/po...Cat=&Board=UBB4 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/72275-easy-shipping/#findComment-1332292 Share on other sites
dc5s
Yes i am moving to Australia anyway, but it wont be until Feb 2007. In my hast, i want to bring one state side for a track/race only car. I dont want to have it for the street. Just personal use in autocross and drift events. That way i can gut it and have a sick ass race car. Does anyone know what a R33 GT-R costs in Japan? And is there a switch i could buy for the GT-R to "turn off" the front diff for drifting? xRHETTx
You can turn off the '4wd' in a r32 gtr but not the later models. You have to take out the front drive shaft apparently. Tommyk
In answer to your questions, R33 GT-R's start from about 20k AUD, and go up from there depending on condition, year, etc. You can buy controllers which trick the attessa computer into providing full time awd, full time rwd, or a set split between the two once again, this gadget is sold on www.nengun.com Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/72275-easy-shipping/#findComment-1333722 Share on other sites
dc5s
So what would a R33 GTR run for in Japan? Thanks for that link, now i can get an R33 GTR for drift AND autocross instead of having to choose between the two (ofcourse i could run my current car in Autocross) Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/72275-easy-shipping/#findComment-1334181 Share on other sites
