Don't know current models, but last year, JVC slaughtered the competition cause of it's features for the price. Most my friends run either JVC or pioneer. I run JVC on my good system, and pioneer on my crap system. The JVC is much better. It feels better made (buttons etc) All my friends that have had both systems agree.

JVC are also really easy to use - great layout. Pioneer tend to be a bit wierd in it's layout, but you get used to it. If I replace the pioneer I wouldn't consider anything other than a JVC due to my previous experiences.

I hate Sony with a passion. haha Can't stand them.

I've got nothing but praise for JVC, my KD-LH2000 has been great and hasn't skipped a beat from 3 years of constant and severe use :O

I've been very impressed with the features, and we're talking about a way superceded model here, the newer versions are absolutely tops!!!

Lots of places are now doing run-out sales on the KD-SHX900 this would have to be one of the best value for money head units around...I want one!

For the guy with the broken JVC, try the local JVC service centre at http://www.jvc.com.au/

I've had to put off my mp3 player for awhile cos my engine is giving me dramas ;)

but it sounds like the JVC unit is the go when i get some more cash!

some of you guys didn't mention the model JVC unit that you are using, what model would be most recommended for a good all round performer?

thanks again

    • Oh yeah that would work excellent. Should be the same diff housing & everything. Shoot me a text or call me 260-750-2246 -Cody
    • Oh right, I didn't realise it was your car. Please do! Makes me feel better about mine. I also have a big scrape on the front left bumper where someone presumably used the wall to guide the car into a parking spot  But somehow all the funds go towards mechanical things and the cosmetics stay forever unfinished... Interesting, I don't think I have seen it before. But after seeing @PranK's rusty roofline on the BMW I'd probably leave it alone. Wouldn't want water to get in there.
    • Thanks mate, thought you might know the answer.
    • Infiniti US are teasing a manual Q50 as a way to refresh a (very old) model. https://torquecafe.com/manual-performance-sedans-arent-dead-yet/ Can't be too technically difficult given the Z has the same motor with a manual gearbox......here's hoping there is a JDM version we can import here, that would save me a world of headaches
