I assume they are the same for any RB26? I've just rebuilt mine using 88mm pistons as well and can give you the torque settings we used, though mine's an R32.

Tighten to 29 Nm

Tighten to 108 Nm

Then loosen all bolts completely

Tighten all to 29 Nm again

Finally tigten all to somewhere between 103 to 113

Thank you man,,

Am using single turbo HKS T51R-SPL and HKS Cams 272 deg in/out do you have any special tricks or setings to gain mor power? or what will be the best timing set up,

Adel

Not at the moment. It's still sitting on the engine stand. Hopefully drop it in this weekend and tune it during next week. As for now my turbos and cams are still stock. I've done the rebuild first (was sort of forced to, stuffed the last block) and will then add some meaty cams and bigger turbos.

One thing for sure, it will be tuned very much on the safe side at first and then I'll try and clock up some quick kays at low boost to run it in. Will get back to you once I start trying to milk some power. I was running 320rwkw but that was on very high boost. How the standard turbos didn't shit themselves I'll never know.

Hey Matt,,

My mechanic is asking few questions like

1. Can the head Bolts be reused ?

2. Can the Con Rod bolts be reused ? both are in good condition though.

3. How do you start tightening the head bolts? he means do you start from the center bolts then back to fwd or what is the best way, coz again he works with ferraries and its his first time to work with the RB26 enigine.

4. Head bolts torque

5. Main bearings torque

6. Con Rod bearings

7. Cam shaft caps

8. Flywheel torque

Sorry Matt for being a Pain but its imprtant to me.

Thank you

Adel

Middle, then fwd, back, fwd, etc till you reach the outer bolts

4. Head bolts torque

Sorry, just reread your first question in this thread. Those settings I gave you are for the head bolts.

5. Main bearings torque

6. Con Rod bearings

7. Cam shaft caps

8. Flywheel torque

I will post these later today, I don't have them at hand.

mate, do a search on here for "R32 Workshop Manual", there is a full copy posted in english with all torques and tightening orders, everything you need :)

I reused the head bolts but replaced the rod bolts. But unless you are a real tightarse just replace both, better than pulling it all apart again later

That's where I'm getting the settings from, the r32 workshop manual.

I suppose I should have replaced the rod bolts but 'meh', they'll do. It's nothing to do with being a tight arse (hell, I've spent 12 grand on just engine parts not including turbos), it was more to do with couldn't be arsed.

    • Hey guys I have a 2001 Nissan stagea vq25det, I don't have any engine lights and not really any issues running but I was curious to see if I could use my obd II scanner to find anything that was hidden and I plugged my scanner in and it just said "Low voltage cannot scan" does anyone know how to fix this or what this could be?
    • Sadly we have something in common, our Skyline's like blowing up electrically 😢
    • So, no videos, but, the FAB9 Elite manifold and 68mm Bosch throttle bodies are in stock, but, not the rear part of the air box The FAB9 rear airbox thingie is made with a 3" intake pipe, to suit the 3" intake pipe size of a 68mm throttle body  When they get some more in stock is currently unknown as I'm waiting for FAB9 to reply with a ETA on resupply, my assumption is they outsource their plastic printing stuff to "china", and with the current "tariff war" going on in 'Merica it could be on hold for an undisclosed time Should I pull the pin on the Intake and throttle body, and wait for the airbox?????, that's what I'm thinking... 1. Would the standard 2.75" OEM intake on the air box really be that much of a restriction compared to the 3" naturally aspirated?????? 2. If I don't get the 3" FAB9 airbox fitted at the same time as the intake and throttle body will it need a retune, when/if it eventually turns up?????? As I'm impulsive, to a fault, decisions will be made within....."what's the time now"???....let's say 12 hours......LOL
    • yeah its just so expensive nowadays and its easy to lose motivation very quickly when you start adding up the costs. I acquired the car from a collector in Melbourne and was lucky to get the opportunity to buy something already completed.  I looked at a proper resto and your paying over 300-400K for a proper one (nut and bolt) so this one to me seemed like a much better option! Car is in private storage and for serious buyers, welcome to come see it/drive it in person (photos don't do it justice).
