installed mine today and holy crap! what a difference! when boost comes on it hits hard and holds..

it peeks on 13 and drops and holds on 12.. but id rather it be on 11.... (its already all the way out....)

but overall im very impressed with it! will be recommending it to others :D

done a dyno test with the boost controller few days ago, thought i'd put it up

the best out of the power runs, i disconnected the factory solenoid and put the standard restrictor back, decided to keep the system simple in the end

starting from 2400rpm, full boost of 11psi was achieved, it held til 6000 rpm then it dropped to 9.8 psi eventually

no boost spikes, the power curve was great, max was 182.7 rwkw

factory setting with solenoid connected generated an ok curve but the max power was 160.8 rwkw

with the dual stage setting, the car pinged a little, so i ditched the dual stage setting in the end

it was done in a pretty warm afternoon, with vortex in my fuel tank (not 98, as i was too desperate for petrol and that caltex i went to didn't have vortex98), results might have been even better if a 98 octane fuel was used

with the safc, i used the second file in all three power runs which was 0 fuel adjustment. ie. not tuned

the only other mod that the car's got is just full exhaust with factory dump

25-30 dollars for a 22 rwkw gain..

I sent an email the other day [29th aug] to Mark about to purchasing a boost controller, I haven't heard back as yet. My controller [ turbo smart]spikes up to 15psi then drops back to 10psi. Seems like everybody is happy with these ones from Mark

Hi Guys!

I'm a first time poster/long time reader of SAU. (mainly because i drive a 180 :D ) But thought i had to post in regard to this product.

I bought my TurboTech a while ago now, and it was sitting around until the other day when i finally got off my ass and decided to install it.

took off the old bleed valve, and straight swapped it with the TurboTech.

an absolute piece of cake to install!

then i decided to take it for a drive, and WOW! :O what an amazing difference!

Boost comes on earlier, is 1000x smoother, and holds right on 10psi right through the range!

Thank you very much for an extermly well engineered product Mark! You've done a top job! so keep them comming :(

Anyway, all the best to everyone here and have a nice day!

    • Here's the chart for fuel pressure vs. current draw, assuming your base fuel pressure is 3 bar and you run like 0.5bar boost on WOT, you should only momentarily hit 9amps here and there. (Ignore my prev post, I cannot read a chart these days it seems)
    • Those comp test results are not hideous. Whether they are accurate or not (ie, when that comp tester says 140 psi, is the real pressure120, 140 or 160?) is unknown to us. The state of the battery used to crank it over is unknown, etc etc. Many people around here would say that the absolute values and the spread are perfectly fine to just add boost and keep going. I personally would be happier with a narrower spread than that, but even the diff between 125 and 145 is not terrible. That one cylinder at 125 though, has probably copped some damage relative to the others. You should inspect the valves seeing as you've got it open. Do you know how to measure installed ring gaps? That, and an inspection of the rings themselves, is how you will determine whether they need to be replaced. If you're not good to do these things, take the block and the pistons and rings to a shop that is, and ask them for the go/no-go on them. Do the bores need a hone at all? If so, you might well be justified in getting some different pistons in order to get away from the ring supply problem. Whether you're happy to spend a lot more money right now, on more gear, rather than less money, but an amount that looks stupid given that you will only get a handful of rings in exchange for that money, is for you to decide.
    • also possibly backed up to my filler and shat down it! 🤣
    • Ok so i would love some advice here please, i purchased an R33 a few months back and its had a few mods done to the engine, its an RB25det running a Master ECU, 1200cc injectors, bigger turbo, oil cooler, oil filter relocation kit, Spool H-beam rods, acl/ross pistons. When i removed the motor from the vehicle (as its getting a respray) i thought i would compression test it and these are the following results. Cylinder 1-145psi, Cylinder 2-143psi, Cylinder 3-125psi, Cylinder 4-145psi, Cylinder 5-140psi, Cylinder 6-135psi this test was done with the motor on the ground and powering up the starter motor. I dropped the sump and found broken oil squirters on cylinder 3,5 and 6. I was told my rings are probably worn so i stripped the motor completely to get a new set of rings for it. The trouble is no one has these rings anywhere and they have to be custom made by Ross over in the states and will cost about $600+$200 delivery. My question is how can i tell if my rings are at fault and if they are still ok and is this price ok for a set of rings?
