i need help!!!

my car has the same idiling problem as most of the sau boys....

ive tried to fix this by cleaning the afm and other stuff along with it

tonight i decided to give the aac valve a go... so i did... pulled it out and everything.. cleaned it up with carby cleaner... put it all back together.. all workign fine... even got the idle to sit still at 720rpm

but.... now i lose heaps of power... i gave it a hit with .5bar... and felt a little bit of power loss... then i decided to give it a go at 1.0 bar .. and i can really rell the difference... i mean it takes so long to rev up to 6500 its unbelievable... i think it may have sometihing to do with what i did tonight... im pretty sure i connected everytying back up the way it supposed to be and im still checking to see if there are any leaks...

ive reset the ecu aswell... and still no powergains again... still stuck.... its almost asif the cluthc is slipping.. .liek i can hear the air going in.. but it feels liek the engines not doing anytyhing with it... i have no idea... but i think my missfiring is comming back at about 5500rpm... but ive got my plugs gaoped to .8 and tehy are brand new irridium ones too... new high flow fuel pump... new fuel filter and yeah....

its really strange... i justwant my power back for now... im over the stalling thing....

any help????

yeah ... but i only started top lose power last night... after i cleaned the aac valve.... i was told that it could be still wet in the electrics still where i cleaned it.. and so one of the valves might not be opening... but i dunno... ive also been told to disconnect the plug to the acc.... i had a look at my coils... looks fine... sill clean under the boot... ive just recnetly changed the plugs... about 2 weeks ago... gapped to .8, im going to groudn the fuel pump today... but i swaer at has to have something to do with me cleaning the aac... even tho its really strange... it shouldnt really affect power should it? i thought it was just an idle control for the cars accessories and that...?

its really annoying... because i need to fix this problem as ive got a new turbo and a few parts comming in by the end of the week...

thanx for your help

shit like that is so frustrating but i tell you finding the problem and fixing it is like a orgasm....lol

can the aac valve be taken out??

if so soke it in metho that will dry it out or if you cant take it out by a can of electrical cleaner that should also clean it but also dry it out

but if you have driven the car after the clean the under bonnet temps should have dried out

also coil packs can fry cuz they are electrical they can be damaged with out looking ****ed mine looked good to but after i got some new ones (second hand) made a real big diff and thay can go for no apparent reason like just out of the blue 1 of mine fizzled

now it will hit full boost again and hit redline without a prob

before would only hit 7 not 10 and would splutter after 5000 rpm apparantley very common

last time i jst regapped the spark plugs.. but now its all back again...

so strange...

its a pin.. coz i need it all fixed by the ened of the week.... and really low on funds!!!

ok.. ive just taken the car for a drive... seems to be sorta fixed... i get some power... but only randomly... sometimes it decides to kick in normally and some times it decides to kick in real real late... when it did kick in late.. i heard a loud pop from the exhaust... could this be fuel pump related?? im going to groudn the fuel pump now to check it out...

it could be a leak in a line...sure feels like it.. it sounds like there is one near the fuel rail... but im sure that its just the fuel going through... or the injectors making that sound... but apart from that ive checked everywhere around the car and i cant find any leaks in the lines..

but then again... could just the a valve in the acc or something not opening... as ive been told by a few people

mate it all sounds so familiar but my car has been built from ground up again so ive never driven it before untill two weeks ago so for me it all seems part or the build

but i was so stoked when i found that it was the coilpacks cuz lucky i had ordered 6 new ones from SSS automotive they where only $20 each

but i know how you feel i thought it was my computer like the turbo was to big for standard but it wasnt

just coil packs and plugs

yeah i had a really weired thing happened to me.... i set it on low boost... and everything was okish... it pulled and everything was fine... a lil jump with the power but yeah...

as soon as i put it back onto high boost... it felt like nothing was happening again... ive ive just groudned the fuel pump to a ground point on the car too... everything feels and sounds like its gettign enough air, and fuel into it... just that it takes so long to rev.. and the power kicks in very randomly... so your suggesting a new set of coil packs? hope it works...

ok .. checked the coil packs... they are all fine... i did take off the turbo as im getting a 2540... but i noticed that a bit of oil leaked from teh silicon hose..where the pipe joins... so im guessing problems could be froma leak?

another thing... i was told that if you do anything to to afm... youll need to get it recalibrated... even if you clean it with a spray can of brake cleaner??? BAH????

oh... an another question... is a gt2540... pretty much using the standard covers for a rb25 turbo with bigger internals with dual roller ball bearings??

i have reset the ecu.. , many times... yeah... some guy here in canberra says you need to recalibrate it.. but is was a bit sceptical...

i think it coudl be a combinatoini of things.. bu tthe only thing i havent tested is the crank angle sensor... but i dunno... any other suggestions?

    • To follow up a question from earlier too since I had the front bar off again (fking!) This is what is between the bumper and the drivers side wheel And this is the navigator side, only one thing but its a biggy! So basically....no putting coolers in the wheel arches without a lot of moving other stuff. Assuming I move to properly race prepping this car I'll take that job on and see how the computers respond to removing a whole bunch of ADAS modules
    • So I prepped the car for another track day on Wednesday (will be interesting to see coolant temps post flushing out and the larger reservoir, with a forecast of 3-14 being 20o cooler than last time I took it out). Couple of things to mention; since I am just driving the car and not taking a support vehicle, I took the rear seats out and just loaded the back up Team Trackday style. Look at all that space! To cover off removing the rear seat....it is weird (note the hybrid is probably different because it wouldn't have folding rear seats) Basically, you remove the lower seat base, very similar to a r series but it is a clip that pulls forward to release the base rather than it being bolted down. Easy Then, you need to remove the side section of the rear seat on each side. There is a 14mm head nut at the bottom of the side piece, the it slides upwards off a hook at the top to release; you also need to unhook the seatbelt from the loop at the top. Then the centre piece is weird. You need to release/fold the seats forward with the tab in the boot on each side From there, there are 2,x12mm headed bolts holding the rear of each seat to the folding bracket, under the trim between the rear seat and the boot (4x christmas tree clips there, they suck). The seat is out but you can see where the bolts attach to the bracket
    • As discussed in the previous post, the bushes in the 110 needed replacing. I took this opportunity to replace the castor bushes, the front lower control arm, lower the car and get the alignment dialled in with new tyres. I took it down to Alignment Motorsports on the GC to get this work done and also get more out of the Shockworks as I felt like I wasn't getting the full use out of them.  To cut a very long story short, it ended up being the case the passenger side castor arm wouldn't accept the brand new bush as the sleeve had worn badly enough to the point you could push the new bush in by hand and completely through. Trying a pair of TRD bushes didn't fix the issue either (I had originally gone with Hardrace bushes). We needed to urgently source another castor arm, and thankfully this was sourced and the guys at the shop worked on my car until 7pm on a Saturday to get everything done. The car rides a lot nicer now with the suspension dialled in properly. Lowered the car a little as well to suit the lower profile front tyres, and just bring the car down generally. Eternally thankful for the guys down at the shop to get the car sorted, we both pulled big favours from our contacts to get it done on the Saturday.  Also plugged in the new Stedi foglights into the S15, and even from a quick test in the garage I'm keen to see how they look out on the road. I had some concerns about the length of the LED body and whether it'd fit in the foglight housing but it's fine.  I've got a small window coming up next month where I'll likely get a little paint work done on the 110 to remove the rear wing, add a boot wing and roof wing, get the side skirt fixed up and colour match the little panel on the tail lights so that I can install some badges that I've kept in storage. I'm also tempted to put in a new pair of headlights on the 110.  Until then, here's some more pictures from Easter this year.
    • I would put a fuel pressure gauge between the filter and the fuel rail, see if it's maintaining good fuel pressure at idle going up to the point when it stalls. Do you see any strange behavior in commanded fuel leading up to the point when it stalls? You might have to start going through the service manual and doing a long list of sensor tests if it's not the fuel system for whatever reason.
