About a year or so ago when I got a 'defect notice' for my hks pod (which I wanted to change back to the factory box anyway because I didnt like the induction noise) I took it to a local RTA recommended blue slip mechanic and he laughed at me. He said no where in his "book of rules" does it even state you have to have an air filter connected let alone it must be boxed. He rang up the RTA to give them a hoot but the RTA guy that answered simply stated "anything that is non-factory fitted is a defect" ... end of story.

By the time I got it cleared though I had already fitted the standard airbox so it was a simple 1min check and off I went back to the RTA.

I've said it 100x and i'll say it again' date=' things will never change until the Police go back to fighting crimes (breakins, rape, bank robbers) and leave all the traffic offences to the RTA, I mean that's what we pay them for. It's a win win situation for us all.[/quote']

Not so, It'll only stop when ppl get up off the ground and refuse to be stood over. This "what can you do, it'll probably be me next, " attitude just invites being walked on. Start standing up, instead of crawling around on your knees.

LOL woah' date=' so some of the guys getting around Woodcroft/Blacktown in Skylines ARE on here. I pass heaps on my way to and from work. There's a nice R34 GT-T on that main road through Doonside/Woodcroft... and a stocky R33 T too that I see every day

if its a white series 2 skyline with white wheels & winglesss boot (which im told no one hasss) hahahah suckers lol jks thats me haha..

H pattern gear knob?

HAHAHAHAHHH

that's fkn hilarious

what kind of bullshit is that? you all of a suddden forget what pattern ur gears are so u need the drawing on ur knob? wtf? ahaha fkn ultra-gay

The reason this is required is because some cars have different gear patterns. I know when I drive a car for the first time I check the H pattern. Some cars like supras and what not have the reverse on the far left instead of the bottom right.

This is why when you buy a nismo gear knob it comes with the little sticker.

I'm from blacktown. There was a cop on sunnyholt rd on sat nite just crusin up and down and pulling ppl over. Every time I was goin somewhere I would see him with the lights on.

I wasn't brave enough to go past him as I have no front bar. :P

something that will make you laugh.....

Got a call thismorning from a mate... he told me that another mate of his had been pulled over in brighton and booked for having his arm out the window....

$80 fine.....

mind you he is like 7 foot tall with huge arms that could wack people on the sidewalk but thats another matter

if its a white series 2 skyline with white wheels & winglesss boot (which im told no one hasss) hahahah suckers lol jks thats me haha..

LOL, mines white with white wheels and a wingless boot, also a series II.... but i got an aftermarket front bar, looks sort of stock front...

i got pulled over for a good 15-20mins last friday night about 1130pm in a residential area..

cop did a u turn followed me a bit then pulled me over.

they checked my license and if the car was stolen, there was 4 cops and they went all around the car, engine bay and interior didnt find anything (i dont have the typical pod and bov and i have a very quiet exhaust, but i DO have lots of other, hidden stuff :P:) )

only thing they said was rear tyres are nearly bald, but did not defect me for it,

3 of the cops seemed nice but one had the 'i am better than you and i will try and get you for anything' attitude.

i was just polite and tried to make some conversation with them all and things went ok, the cop with an attitude was not friendly, but we was not outright rude either, once he saw i wasnt being a dickhead.

only thing i didnt like was he reached into the car and took my wallet and pulled out another form if id (i think my uni or credit card) and asked the other officer to confirm if the same names were on both without asking me.

i got pulled over for speeding once by a persuit car thingo, and the evil cop (there always seems to be a bad one and a good one) opened my door and started looking around while i was talking to the other one.

Are they allowed to do that ?

Dont they have to ask you to open the door ?

I think if your car is locked they need to ask if it's open it's open.

As for taking your wallet that's just plain rude - and silly on their behalf too because if someone starts accusing them of taking money they set themselves up for it.

yes i thought it was rude and would have readily handed it over if he had asked, but since it was a powertripping cop i thought it was best not to try my luck by saying anything since i had nothing to hide. very rude!

Anything not standard seems to be a defect these days. I cleared some (10) a month or so ago. Since then i had the RTA come knocking at my door wanting to do another inspection.

SO i think they catching up to me clearing defects an puttin stuff back on.

btw any1 got a stock zorst an cat handy??

    • Pressure when IDLING, is meant to be 51PSi... So that amperage value needs to go up a fair chunk... I'd personally be factoring for more like 12amp at least on those runs, and at that point you need to hope the already there wiring doesn't drop you a volt or two, as that's a lot of fuel pressure flow drop off from 13.5 to 12V! Taking idle pressure of 51psi, means the pump will be drawing a MINIMUM of 9amps all the time based on your reading of the graph (3bar base, then allowing an extra 0.5bar for boost = roughly 51psi)
    • Hi all,  I am in the market for an R200 longnose diff out of a Z31 300ZX, or S12 RSX, DR30 skyline, or similar, in a 3.9 ratio.  Preferably a late model one with the M12 crownwheel bolts.  The only easy to find advert for one of these was my ad back in 2007 when I sold it on this forum.  I sold the diff as I had sold the car it goes to, but as it turns out, after 18 years I got the car back late last year, so now I'm looking for the diff !  If anyone knows where to find a longnose R200 LSD with the M12 crownwheel bolts, drop me a line at [email protected] - Bonus paid if soomeone comes up with the original diff (stranger things have happened !).  Cheers   Ben D
    • Hi everyone, I used to post here a bit from 2004-2013, when I owned various Nissans, in particular my S12 RSX gazelle, which was sold in 2007.  As luck would have it, after an 18 year hiatus, the car found its way back to me last year, and over the past 11 months I have had the pleasure of restoring it with my kids.  One thing that I am after in particular is a 3.9 ratio R200 LSD for it.  I actually sold the one out of the car here back in 2007 , and it would be incredible if I could track down who I sold it to, so I can see how they have progressed over the years (and to be honest, to see whether I can get the diff back !).  Anyways, hi all and let me know "where are the R200 Longnose diffs all at these days ?  Cheers Ben D
    • Arms will be the same as the G35 or 350Z, but as above, there was a change in the lower control arm where it connects to the ball joint.  That said, you can remove the ball joint cone from your old ball joints and fit them to the new ball joints.  To be honest, I didn't think the ball joints themselves were different. The main ball joint is a bit awkward to replace, you really need to remove the steering knuckle to press out the old one.  Some people have used tools to remove it in place, but it just seemed too hard to get to. If you are going to press out/in that ball joint, then you may as well just replace the bushings in the LCA and the compression rod.  You can buy the compression rod bushing from Nissan, but the LCA bushes, you will need to go aftermarket. Much cheaper than buying the whole arm.
    • Ha, well, it's been.... a bit of a journey. Things have taken much longer than I'd hoped. I'll probably put up a thread at some stage. Hopefully soon. The car's not done any kms since my update in June though, put it that way.
