I don't know whether these coil packs have been patched up before. Also, these spark plugs are platinum I believe but the gap is around 1mm. If I gap them down now am I likely to weaken them because they are old. Do you think they look old enough to replace or are they still good?

Thanks

I have nothing but bad experiences with Autolite plugs over the years. I only use NGK copper plugs, for ~$3 each they are unbeatable.

That coil pack looks to have been pretty hot, what do the others look like?

:P

I'll grab some coppers then and put them in, BKR6E I think I am going to get. All the coil packs look similar, like they have been pretty hot.

Is it a good idea to leave that cover off? I'd rather not but I don't want cracks in the coils..

I had my spark plugs changed last week,...first time since i bought the car in Sept. The spark plugs that came out were autolite and looked exactly like the ones in the picture ie. "burn" marks around the tip.

I had NGK BKR6E put in and the car mas not missed a beat since (was missing pretty badly before the change)

Good luck, but yes, i highly recommend the BKR6E for stock - mildly moded skylines!

:(

Very nice to hear!!! They are the exact ones I just put in.

I was getting a little hesitation, hopefully these will help. Haven't taken it for a spin yet. Still have to put some pipes back on.

The autolite were also about 1.1mm gap. These ones are 0.8mm

Thanks for that

    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
    • Hi.. Just another problem. So maybe you can help. I(my mechanic) done swap from my RB20DE NEO to RB25DET NEO. Everything is OK but we have a boost cut. Coils/Plugs are ok...AFM is ok. ECU is ok. I have Walbro 255 but it "changed" sound few months ago(you can hear it ouside) you did not hear that when it was new(maybe faulty?) Sooo...what now? What can cause this boost cut? It is even when you standing still...
    • Not sure the US can import anything other than the C34 Stagea's, but if you can and you need to to tow, DO NOT under any circumstances get an M35 Stagea. If it is just as a family car and your country/state allows it, absolutely and definitely get an M35 (3.5L if possible as it is effectively a 350Z) over a C34.
