im no longer doing the original style lid... as its too time consuming and tricky to fold. can be done, but the time it takes is way too long compared to the new design...

for that reason ive increased the price, i have to buy more bits and pieces to put them together, otherwise i wouldve increased the price to compensate for the labour required. it was also way easier to completly stuff the lid the old way.

im going to do other cars aswell.... but im flat out working and making boxes for gtst's after work, only so many hours in a day.

ill post up some pics of the new box shortly, it looks nothing like the photoshop job.

cheers

These look fantastic. Just a warning though - if a cop wants to defect you, he CAN and WILL. I have a UAS carbon box around my pod (not nearly as classy looking as this one!), and the cop that defected me a couple of weeks ago physically pryed the top up so he could see the pod underneath. I don't konw about other states, but especially in Sydney's South (where I got defected) there's a huge blitz on performance cars.

I spoke to the RTA, and the bloke on the end of the phone said "As long as it's in a box, it's fine!" - As people have said in the past (I hate bringing this up again), the law is open to interpretation.

Anyway - just be careful, and always, ALWAYS argue until you win :D

Back ON topic - if you have a pod, or are thinking of putting one on, buy one of THESE - they look very trick! Well done

Tragic, the new price is $130 or $140 delivered.

Akeevil... quite true in what you are saying... good thing about 2mm aluminium is its not easy to bend by hand, even to pry up. :)

i have been asked by a few people if i could put perspex in the lid, this will not be done as its easier to be defected, the point of the box is to conceal the pod to make it harder to be defected... even though the pod is boxed and "legal", if the cop can still see that you have a pod, he'll get you for a noise test or some other bullshit.

Hi Mate,

Looks real neat and very professional, nice stuff.

Ive got a Series 1 1997 Stagea wagon (RB25det) with aftermarket K&N pod airfilter. Will soon be adding a Hybrid front mount intercooler.

How much for one of these enclosed pod airboxes, with postage to adelaide, and do you know if it'll fit a Stagea?

Regards, Brendan

    • Yeh I think i'll message an old contact i had for ages that manages his own tyre shop now.. n tell him what i want n work with him before ordering..  Got this 17x9 +30 Driftteks on 245/45/17 PSR Drag Radials on the rear.. They fit well - for your reference in future - Rear guards  have been lipped in & minimal to non flaring of the rear Gaurds.
    • If only it were that easy! I also needed to remove seats, shocks, brake calipers, send my car through a fence, and use measuring and ended up guessing because I didn't remove seats, shocks and brake calipers. It can be hard sometimes Can be a little more complex than 'just measure' if you want to truly measure the entire wheel through all of it's suspension travel. But if you aren't going for every last mm then yeah, you can check the space you currently have and guesstimate.
    • If you own a car, and it has wheels on it, and you know the offset of those wheels, and you have a measuring device, you have everything you need to work out if other wheels will fit.
    • Will this fit? but they are staggered set - RAYS 57DR SEMI GLOSS BLACK 18x8.5 +37 | 18x9.5 +38 5-114.3 STAGGERED SET   or If no go could just get a set 4's wheels of 18x8.5 +37 5-114.3 - would i run 8.5's 235s up front n 245's at the back if I do?   Thanks.
    • Put a clamp on your return line. I have a feeling it's sucking air, and introducing bubbles to your fuel. With a lot of fuel, less problematic. I'd honestly be redoing all the lines in the tank and clamps on everything.   Also, you've given two different answers to the same question: Asked if being followed by the police you could get down to use the whole tank, you said yes you could, so long as you keep off boost. However, you then followed this up that free revving, it would also cause the issues. I'm doubting free revving is enough to make any noticeable boost on what is likely a decent sized turbo.   So now I have to ask, can you actually drive it lightly and use all the fuel, or does it break up even free revving? Also, have you put a fuel pressure gauge on it? Can you hear the pump change noise at all when you're having this issue?
