i am insltalling a new sub frame into a gts and the new sub frame has damaged bushes, i will be replacing with solid alloy ones as used for drifting,

ho do i get these out? i have no access to a press and its very heavy,

any success stories? i have heard of someone burning out but that would take all day and wouldnt remove steel sleve?

no dont burn them out,

just get a holesaw and a good drill. cut from top and bottom. 5 mins max each bush and no filthy smoke. if bush gets too hot just work on others, - I used one of those $15 cheap drills from crazy clarks...lol. knock the bush insides' out with a hammer and something to punch out with.

then use hacksaw to cut out outer case ( only 1 mm thick), just be careful not to cut subframe mount. more than likely the bush 'holes' will not be perfectly round and will make putting the bushes in a little difficult. I used a socket and a hammer ( I rang noltec and talked to their tech guys and they said it was ok to tap in) to push it in- if bush holes are not perfectly round I would suggest a press.

Trade Tools – cost $25, a 2 –7/16 which fitted quite well, it need a little filing inside about 7 mm deep to make socket fit better over urethane. I installed noltec bushes for about $190 a set of 4.

good luck.

yea im using custom alloy ones, ($80 for alloy 1 hour on lathe) ill freez them, and heat sub frame, they should just tap in (or ill mahine them down so the do lol)

the heat will equalize and lock them in,

its used for drifting so dont mind the stiffness, and hey tyrers are rubber arnt they lol

    • Unsolicited advice? Keep the engine as close to stock as you can. Nothing wrong with adding some boost and making a little more power, but given where you are, you really don't want to try to make it into a monster. I can't imagine the roads are up to it, and the lack of locla support when it grenades will be a ball ache. FWIW, If there is a dyno around that you can access, then brand new injectors are a good idea, which will lead you to (at least) putting a Nistune in it, which will allow you to put an R35 AFM on it, all of which will make it possible to make it much much nicer to drive and live with.
    • List all of your mods. It sounds like an aftermarket ECU hitting rev limiter. Like a valet mode, or a cold rpm limiter?
    • @Kapr Haha yeah thats the one. I missed that you had a built up engine, I wouldn't want to run it on there either then. It was good in my situation just to replace the original turbo on a stock engine. @MBS206Yep definitely not a replacement for anything name brand
    • You are selling this? I have never bought something from marketplace...i dont know if i trust that enough. And the price is little bit "too" good...
