quote from Matt The Mad **** on the exvitermini bbs..

"Unfortunately the car couldn't run yesterday as planned, cause the tow truck broke down!

But today.........

Andrej just rang me and said that RH9GTR has busted third gear :-(

RH9's third gear is on it's way out :-(

And GTR-700 ran an 8.96 at 160 + MPH this moring :-)

And then backed it up with a 8.99.

No news of breakages on GTR-700 yet............ "

well done Mario...

Not bad considering he paid someone to build the car and some one to drive it, I think I will just sell my second house and go to Japan to buy a car from HKS and bring it back and pay someone to drive it so I can break the record, what a WANK. A least I will build my own car and I will also drive it, although it might not go as fast but it would have to be more satisfying than just employing people to do everything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe PAC PERFORMANCE can help me.

"yes this user is so brave he had to set up a new account to post this"

Hey MATE, its a team effort obviously. Did Tetsuya Kawasaki build the HKS GTR on his own? Was it the result of any one person?

Obviously your goals are a little different. You want to go and build you own car then thats fine. Beside the fact that he has infact worked on the car himself in many ways, why pay out someone who has worked so hard to get the whole project together and has achieved so much?

I think its a hell of a thing building a car like this, where it hasn't been done here before, getting some good results, and not being finished yet. Credit where credit is due.

dude, get a grip. mario earn's his money so let him do as he pleases, if anyone had the expertise in australia to build a PROGTR i'm sure it would have been locally done more so that it was. and DON'T TELL ME YOUR CAR WAS BUILT MY DON BURKE'S BACKYARD MOTORSPORT

get off the anon. comments, have some balls and stand behind your opinion, not a new alias.

Words cannot describe the level of gutlessness that you exhibited by having to create a new account to post your views, and not have the courage to post it under your own name.

:tool: Nice work you complete idiot. Very few people have the driving ability to handle a car of this level.

I suppose you think you can jump in an not only build one of these cars YOURSELF but also run a time as stated with you behind the wheel?

i see his point tho, not the wanker part, but like, all mario is, is the owner, i congratulate him on a good time and all the rest, but all he is , is a cheque book? isnt he?

fair enough if he drove it, he could claim the time, or if he built the car...

please dont see this as bitching, im just tryin to explain my point.. and i think his too.

His money= His car right? his money spent on mods= his faster car right?

Who cares if he doesnt build/race the car! His money, His car, HIS TIMES!

If you think you can do better.... then please so, or go and die.

Boxhead: So seing as Mario pays for his modifications with money no doubt well earned and has the best in the business build his cars, then i guess every one of us who has had "someone else" fit a part or service our cars is a "cheque" writer?

:(

you got it all wrong nick,

im just saying your a cheque book racer, if all you do is foot the bill, i mean, if you pay for mods, and you drive it and its your car good on you, or if you build the car and someone else races fair enough too

but to sit back, own the car on a peice of paper, and just make it the fastest gtr with your money just to say you have the fastest car, i consider those people tools,

im not saying you have to do it all on your own, but you should do something...

I feel the flames from here........lets all gang up on gtrn1:bahaha:

just kidding

To MarioGTR,

Glad 2 see all the time and money you invested in GTR700 is paying off. You did what you set out to do, unlike some others on here who are all talk and no action.........

8.96 is gonna make my GTR seem real slow in comparison:(

    • It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about. Reliability of everything in a 34 drops MASSIVELY above the 300kw mark. Keeping everything going great at beyond that value will cost ten times the $. Clutches become shit, gearboxes (and engines/bottom ends) become consumable, traction becomes crap. The good news is looking legalish/actually being legal is slighly under the 300kw mark. I would make the assumption you want to ditch the stock plenum too and want to go a front facing unit of some description due to the cross flow. Do the bends on a return flow hurt? Not really. A couple of bends do make a difference but not nearly as much in a forced induction situation. Add 1psi of boost to overcome it. Nobody has ever gone and done a track session monitoring IAT then done a different session on a different intercooler and monitored IAT to see the difference here. All of the benefits here are likely in the "My engine is a forged consumable that I drive once a year because it needs a rebuild every year which takes 9 months of the year to complete" territory. It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about with this car.
    • By "reverse flow", do you mean "return flow"? Being the IC having a return pipe back behind the bumper reo, or similar? If so... I am currently making ~250 rwkW on a Neo at ~17-18 psi. With a return flow. There's nothing to indicate that it is costing me a lot of power at this level, and I would be surprised if I could not push it harder. True, I have not measured pressure drop across it or IAT changes, but the car does not seem upset about it in any way. I won't be bothering to look into it unless it starts giving trouble or doesn't respond to boost increases when I next put it on the dyno. FWIW, it was tuned with the boost controller off, so achieving ~15-16 psi on the wastegate spring alone, and it is noticeably quicker with the boost controller on and yielding a couple of extra pounds. Hence why I think it is doing OK. So, no, I would not arbitrarily say that return flows are restrictive. Yes, they are certainly restrictive if you're aiming for higher power levels. But I also think that the happy place for a street car is <300 rwkW anyway, so I'm not going to be aiming for power levels that would require me to change the inlet pipework. My car looks very stock, even though everything is different. The turbo and inlet pipes all look stock and run in the stock locations, The airbox looks stock (apart from the inlet being opened up). The turbo looks stock, because it's in the stock location, is the stock housings and can't really be seen anyway. It makes enough power to be good to drive, but won't raise eyebrows if I ever f**k up enough for the cops to lift the bonnet.
    • There is a guy who said he can weld me piping without having to cut chassis, maybe I do that ? Or do I just go reverse flow but isn’t reverse flow very limited once again?
    • I haven’t yet cut the chassis, maybe I switch to a reverse flow. I’ve got the Intercooler mounted as I already had it but not cut yet. Might have to speak to an engineer
    • Yes that’s another issue, I always have a front mount, plus will be turbo plus intake will big hasstle. I’ve been told if it looks stock they’re fine with it by a couple others who have done it ahahaha.    I know @Kinkstaah said the stock gtt airbox is limiting but I might just have to do that to avoid a defect so it atleast looks legit. Or an enclosed pod so it’s hidden away and feed air from the snorkel and below Intercooler holes like kinstaah mentioned. Hmm what to do
