igor
I m thinking of getting some sort of "stock look" twin-tip muffler. The options so far are the hi-tech system they have on their website, magnaflow dual-tip system that came up on the forums before or two smaller mufflers stuck together. I m not a big fan of the latter - looks unprofessional. What have people experienced with these systems? Are they as high flow as a cannon and less/more loud? Bl4cK32
Ive got a straight through 3" to 3.5" split to 2x 2.5" catback system with a "modified:D" cat. Its got 2 x 3" mufflers at the rear of the car. With the 2 mufflers by themselves the car is damn quieter than i expected, and flows quite well... igor
How expensive was that to get done? 2 3" mufflers - thats twice the attention I am trying to avoid. I actually wouldn't mind having 2 smallish (like 2") cannons on either side of the car. geno8r
I had a twin 2" tip muffler coming off a 3" turbo back exhaust... It was way quieter but I got bored of it & dumped the f#ck off canon back on... I felt the twin 2" we holding a few Kw back at top end compared to my canon. Once putting the 4.5” tip back on top end just felt like it breathed easier & snapped that redline even quicker. igor
I had a twin 2" tip muffler coming off a 3" turbo back exhaust... How were those attached to the exhaust? Was there like a welded joint or something? Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/78464-twin-tip-muffler/#findComment-1432329 Share on other sites

I have the Hi tech system, and its nice and quite compared to the cannon I had before, however, i feel it doesn't breath as good as the cannon, nothing too dramatic but still noticeable, (it may all be in my head though) I'm actually thinking in changing it back to a cannon again, we'll see. Have you got a second muffler or a resonator in your exhaust? Because by the sound of it you don't really need it with the twin tip system. Richo
No, no second muffler or resonator, if what you are after is a stock look without losing too much flow, and quite-ass this is it, (mind you, havent tried others) Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/78464-twin-tip-muffler/#findComment-1432647 Share on other sites

What I am wondering now is that how much flow would it loose if the power increases to about 200 kW on a R33 GTST. Twin tip.. meaning a single muffler with 2 tips coming off it at the back. single 3" in, twin 2" out.... I actually wouldn't mind having 2 smallish (like 2") cannons on either side of the car. Being 3" mufflers, they are physically smaller than say a 5 or 6" cannon poking out from under your car. I bought a twin system for a r33, then had it custom mounted to my r32. The actual mufflers sit further under my car than my old cannon did, and all you can see it the 2 x 2.5" tips Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/78464-twin-tip-muffler/#findComment-1432868 Share on other sites
